The French side asserted their dominance within six minutes, with Neves moving unmarked to the far post to power home a precise header from a free kick.
Neves doubled their lead in the 39th minute after a flowing move as Bradley Barcola found Fabian Ruiz, whose exquisite cross was clinically converted by the Portuguese.
Any hopes of a Miami comeback were extinguished in the first half as Messi and company barely got a look in, and their misery deepened further when Tomas Aviles turned Desire Doue's cross into his own net.
Achraf Hakimi added the fourth, pouncing after his initial shot struck the crossbar, on the stroke of halftime.
"It was an almost perfect match, we created a lot of chances, and I'm happy yet I think we still need to improve, that's football," PSG coach Luis Enrique said.
Messi became more involved after the break and his header was saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma following a quick counter-attack, while he struck the wall with a late free kick that brought the crowd to their feet in anticipation of a consolation goal that never materialised.
"I'm very proud of my players. Today you could see the difference in class, but football has given us the chance to compete. This is probably the best team in the world with a great coach, but we took them on," Miami coach Javier Mascherano said.
"There's a huge lesson to be learned from here. We're going to be reviewing all of this and I think that they go hand in hand now if we are going to be able to take stock of this experience.
"I think that this is going to help us when we take this to our National League. It goes without saying that it depends on our own personal intelligence that we have at our disposal as a team to be able to leverage this experience.
The Champions League winners march on to the quarter-finals, where they will face the winners of the clash between Flamengo and Bayern Munich.

Trent Alexander-Arnold claimed his first Real Madrid assist as Gonzalo Garcia's third Club World Cup goal secured a 1-0 victory over Juventus in Miami. Garcia's 54th-minute header broke Juventus' firm resolve and sent Real into the last eight of the competition. Randal Kolo Muani and Francisco Conceicao failed to take early chances for Juventus and Real dominated after those misses. GONZALO GARCIA'S 54th-minute header was enough to give Real Madrid a 1-0 win over Juventus at Hard Rock Stadium on Tuesday and book their place in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup. The Spanish giants will face the winner of Tuesday's other game between Borussia Dortmund and Mexico's Monterrey in the last eight. It was an impressive display from Xabi Alonso's Madrid side, and adding to a positive day, Kylian Mbappe made his return from illness, coming on as a 68th-minute substitute for his first appearance of the tournament. The first half was a finely balanced contest with Igor Tudor's Juventus starting brightly before Real ended it on top. There was an early chance for Juve's Randal Kolo Muani after clever work from Kenan Yildiz to put him through on goal, but the French forward opted for an attempted chip of Thibaut Courtois, and his shot floated over the bar. Advertisement The impressive Yildiz then burst through the middle and unleashed a fierce effort which deflected off Aurelien Tchouameni and flew wide. The Turin team, beaten 5-2 by Manchester City in their final group game, were moving the ball around with confidence, but Real grew into the contest, and they went close when Jude Bellingham forced a save out of Michele Di Gregorio from close range. Federico Valverde then tested the Juve goalkeeper from long range, and Trent Alexander-Arnold whipped a low ball across the face of the goal as Madrid finished the half strongly. The interval did nothing to alter the momentum of the game with Real creating several chances — Bellingham laid off to Valverde, whose sweetly-struck shot was just wide and then Bellingham himself brought another good save out of Di Gregorio with a shot from the edge of the box. Dean Huijsen's rocketing drive was parried out by the busy goalkeeper as Real laid siege to the Juventus goal, and it was no surprise when the breakthrough finally arrived. Alexander-Arnold floated in a cross from the right, which Gonzalo met with a perfectly-timed header for his third goal in four games in the tournament. Juve responded with Portuguese winger Francisco Conceicao bringing Courtois into action from a low shot, the Belgian shot-stopper did well to get down to. But Real wanted to finish the contest off, and Valverde tested Di Gregorio's reactions with an overhead kick before Alonso decided to introduce Mbappe to the delight of the 62,149 crowd. Juve's belief remained, however, and Nicolas Gonzalez flashed a 25-yard drive just wide. Club World Cup, Round of 16: Real Madrid 1 (García 54) Juventus 0 Kylian Mbappé at last made his debut at the Club World Cup , coming on to face Juventus two weeks and four games after he was hospitalised with a stomach virus that saw him lose five kilos. But while the Hard Rock Stadium chanted his name, cheered as he made his way to the halfway line and stood as one to hand him an ovation when he came on, the excitement overflowing, it was the kid for whom Rita Hayworth is family but many of them had not heard of a month ago who took Real Madrid into the quarter-final. The best competitions always have a revelation; here, it is the 21-year-old Gonzalo García. He scored his third goal in the US, a superb thumping header doing what no one else could over 90 minutes here, and beating the Juventus keeper, Michele Di Gregorio. A family of rugby players, bullfighters, and perhaps the most famous actress there ever was – his grandfather was Rita's cousin – has a footballer too, and he looks like being some player. Good enough, says Spain's under-17 coach Hernán Pérez, to be Madrid's striker for a decade to come. With the permission of Mbappé, of course. But Xabi Alonso likes him, that's for sure, and García has been superb stateside. Photograph:In the end, Madrid deserved it, far the better side, although it did take a little while to gain control and the early moments of illumination came mostly from another kid, Juventus's Kenan Yildiz, who combined often with Andrea Cambiaso and Randal Kolo Muani, while Khéphren Thuram and Francisco Conceição too were influencing this. The 20-year-old, left footed, small, socks half down, backside low, has been described by Kolo Muani as 'magic' and there were moments he left his mark here. The first time he got the ball, the shot was scuffed, it is true; the others, the connection was invariably cleaner. At times in the first half it was lovely to watch. The move began way back on the edge of the Juventus penalty area, where Trent Alexander-Arnold lost out and Kolo Muani set off on a long, dynamic run. Yildiz went with him, slipping the second of two nicely weighted passes in behind Madrid's defence. Alone before Thibaut Courtois, Kolo Muani scooped over him but fractionally over the bar too. Soon after a neat turn saw Yildiz's shot deflected wide, there was a moment when he slipped the ball between Alexander-Arnold's legs and smart footwork took him away from Alexander-Arnold and Antonio Rüdiger for Cambiaso to cross. From another Cambiaso delivery, Conceição headed down. The chance was a decent one, but the save from Courtois was simple enough. Madrid, playing with three central defenders once again, had a degree of control but if not a huge amount of incision in those early phases. But as the half went on, openings appeared, there was a rise in the noise level every time Vinícius started to run and Fede Valverde, as ever, was everywhere firing off shots. He would have a busy afternoon, sticking out a leg when Valverde got deep into the area and pulled back soon after. As the ball spun up, Daniele Rugani had to hook it away. Next Arda Guler, growing into this in the playmaker role that looks increasingly like becoming his permanent place, lifted over his marker and almost got the ball across. Just before the break, Alexander-Arnold did, but his delivery raced right though the six yard box. The second half began with Jude Bellingham setting up Valverde to take on a volley that skidded and spun just wide, and although Rüdiger and Courtois kicked each other as they swiped at a clearance, Alonso's side got on top. Soon they were dominating entirely. Alexander-Arnold fired just over, Manuel Locatelli had to block Vinícius, and both Bellingham and Dean Huijsen drew saves from Di Gregorio. Then the goal came, Alexander-Arnold's lovely soft-shoed cross meeting García's leap. Turning his neck, the 20-year-old thudded a header past Di Gregorio, flinging up his arms but just not fast enough. Madrid kept coming but the Italian pushed away Valverde's acrobatic volley and then stuck out a leg to stop Guler's shot after Vinícius and Mbappé had opened up Juventus on the left. When he reached Aurélien Tchouaméni's low drive on 82 minutes, it took him into double figures in saves but there was no reward.
