Cameron Norrie roars into third round by downing 12th seed Frances Tiafoe
Cameron Norrie battled back from a set down to triumph in his second-round Wimbledon clash against the American 12th seed Frances Tiafoe. The British number three hit top form to beat Tiafoe 4-6 6-4 6-3 7-5 and reach the third round for the fourth time in five years. Norrie was broken in the fifth game of the first set to put him on the back foot. But the 29-year-old seemed energised by a vocal Court One crowd in the second, which saw his rival fail to follow through on three break points at 4-4 – a shortcoming that allowed the 2022 semi-finalist to rally and get a break of his own to level the match. Norrie's forehand began to cause the American plenty of problems in the third set, but after breaking Tiafoe's serve he was swiftly broken back as the bog-serving American relied on his ability to gain points via aces. The tables were then turned once again when Norrie broke serve, again courtesy of his huge forehand, and proceeded to successfully serve for the third set. Tiafoe then disappeared off court for a lengthy comfort break, coming back in a fresh outfit to face a fourth set with an opponent who was clearly warming to the task. Though trailing, the American did not fold easily and break points were passed between the pair, with the momentum looking at times to be favouring Tiafoe as he threatened to regain control of the match. Norrie held his nerve, however, and blips from his adversary meant he was able to pull off a mighty victory and book a likely clash with Queen's finalist Jiri Lehecka in the third round.

British and Irish Lions sweat over fitness of ANOTHER star as Andy Farrell 'crosses his fingers' for full-back sent for X-ray after injury in Queensland Reds win
Elliot Daly's Lions tour is in jeopardy after the full-back was sent for an X-ray following the victory over Queensland Reds. The three-time tourist was sent for scans on his forearm after suffering a suspected fracture whilst attempting a tackle. It would be a cruel blow if Daly is sent home early, having been one of the standout performers in the opening fixtures. 'We've all got our fingers crossed for him,' said Lions coach Andy Farrell. 'He's got a bang on the forearm and he's going for an X-ray this evening.' Daly was drafted into the starting team after Hugo Keenan was ruled out before kick-off with illness. His versatility has put him in contention to be part of the Test team to face the Wallabies but he now faces a nervous wait for his diagnosis. 'Elliot's been back to his good old self, hasn't he?' added Farrell 'We've seen him do that on these tours before, and he's certainly the type of character that loves touring. He's a people person. 'I actually phoned him up today. He'd just come out of the gym, had a tough old session, and I said to him, 'How was the gym session?' He says, 'Good, yeah, we trained hard'. 'I said, 'Well done, you've won the golden ticket, you're playing this evening'. He was not phased at all, and that's the type of characters that you need on tours like this.' Should Daly be ruled out of the tour, Scotsman Tom Jordan could provide versatile cover.

'We've been rash' - fans on Quansah sale
We asked for your thoughts on the decision to sell Jarell Quansah to Bayer is a selection of comments:Eug: Good business for Liverpool. He has a lot of potential but he's not there yet. Maybe he won't realise his full potential, you never know. The money the club got for him is more than I This is a mistake. He was outstanding for England Under 21s recently, especially in the final. He's a big-time Would have personally kept Jarell. In my opinion, he is as good as any centre-half. Alright he makes a few mistakes, but who doesn't? He also makes a lot of tackles. I personally think he is equal to or better than Ibrahima Konate, who let it be known has made many errors himself over a few I'm not sure if we would be upgrading on Quansah if we signed Marc Guehi. Yes stats can be misleading. Palace had far more defensive pressure to cope with than Liverpool FC. But this is a big step up from Palace and the expectation of win at all costs, every week, is always the litmus test for any new signing. Konate doesn't appear to want to extend his contract with Real Madrid looking to steal another Red for free. The club are rolling the dice here and with a year to go on Konate's contract the club are right to gamble now rather than 12 months down the The moment Slot took him off at half-time in the first Premier League game away at Ipswich, the writing was on the wall for Jarell and as the season went on the likes of Harvey Elliott, Federico Chiesa and Darwin Nunez got the same treatment. They weren't trusted by the new coach and got limited minutes. I personally think it's a mistake letting him go if he can just cut out the silly mistakes he occasionally makes. He could have been the natural successor to Virgil van Jarell has potential, but is far from the need right now. £35m is good business and I'm sure we've negotiated a decent buy-back I think we've been rash to get rid of Quansah and I'm not sure Guehi will be an improvement. Quansah was still improving and his front-footed style suits Liverpool far better.
