Sydney Sweeney puzzles fans after being spotted in Venice for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding
Sydney Sweeney has baffled social media users after she was seen out and about in Venice ahead Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez 's wedding, with many fans wondering why she has been invited.
Hollywood megastars and A-list celebrities have all descended on the Italian city for the multi-day $20 million festivities to celebrate the couple, who secretly tied the knot weeks ago.
The celebrations kicked off on Thursday night with a pre-wedding dinner, and the notable guests all headed out for a spot of high-end shopping mere hours ahead of the nuptials.
Sydney, 27, is among the star-studded guest list and was photographed hitting the shops with Vittoria Ceretti on Friday morning just hours ahead of the ceremony.
She was also pictured leaving the wedding party at Campo Della Madonna dell'Orto on Thursday evening in a plunging pink and green floral dress featuring a sweeping frilled skirt.
Details surrounding Sydney's friendship with the bride and groom remain unclear and naturally many perplexed fans are pondering her inclusion in the celebrations.
'The most random people are at this wedding,' one pointed out on Instagram.
'So, did they just invite a bunch of famous people and not actual friends and family?' asked another.

Echoing a similar sentiment, a third said: 'This wedding gets weirder and weirder. Did they just send invitations to every A-list celeb on the planet and hope some came?'
'I'm convinced they paid a bunch of random celebs to come,' another continued.
A fifth added: 'Just seems so fake and phony of a whack guest list yuck.'
Besides Sydney, the Bezos's celebrity guest list also boasts the likes of Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Brady, Ellie Goulding and Kendall Jenner.
Former US President Barack Obama also joined. He and Bezos have been on warm terms for years, and Jeff donated $100 million (£72million) to the Obama Foundation in 2021.
Though Jeff and Lauren are yet to walk down the aisle in Venice - it was revealed on Thursday that the couple are already legally married.
A source told DailyMail.com: 'They have been married for at least a month, more than a month. The marriage is fully legal and took place in America under American law.'
'When they were planning the wedding, they were clear about the fact that they were already secretly married,' they added.

Just hours ago, Lauren was pictured leaving the five-star Aman hotel before making her way to San Giorgio Maggiore Island where she will exchange vows with the billionaire tech mogul.
Police officers on jet skis are out in force this afternoon as the wedding draws closer.
Officers patrolled the front of St Mark's Square in what is guaranteed to be a tight security operation this afternoon in Venice.
Italian media have reported the city will pay overtime to an unspecified number of police officers involved in security for the wedding organisers.

Jeff in Venice: seven takeaways from the Bezos-Sánchez wedding
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and journalist Lauren Sánchez held their wedding ceremony in Venice's Grand canal on Friday, the centrepiece of a three-day gala that drew dozens of stars but also protests by local activists. Here are seven takeaways. The couple kicked off celebrations with a foam party on their $500m (£364m) super yacht moored near the Croatian island of Unije. Coinciding with Sánchez's son Evan Whitesell's 19th birthday, paparazzi photos showed the couple wearing swimwear and sunhats covered in frothy suds as they partied alongside Whitesell and his friends. Foam parties can cause conjunctivitis, so the decision to hold one just days before their nuptials was somewhat surprising but maybe billionaire foam hits different. What do you get for the fourth richest person in the world? Apparently nothing. A portion of the official invitation obtained by ABC News stipulated an early request from the couple; 'please, no gifts'. Instead it stated that Bezos and Sánchez would be making donations 'with gratitude' on their guests' behalf to causes including the Venice International University and an organisation dedicated to restoring the city's lagoons. On social media, the biggest question users had was: who had designed the invite? Featuring doodle-like illustrations of butterflies, shooting stars, feathers and the Rialto Bridge, some argued the invitations had been generated by AI or, perhaps, bulk bought via Amazon. Alongside donations on their behalf, each guest will receive a goodie bag. We are still waiting for one of the Kardashian clan to do an official unboxing on YouTube but so far it has been revealed that they feature sweet treats from the historic Venetian pastry shop Rosa Salva and vibrant coloured glassware from the Murano specialist Laguna~B. First came the anti-capitalist public protests. Then it turned out one of Bezos and Sánchez's three chosen venues was covered by unsightly scaffolding. The next disaster to hit? A freak thunderstorm on Thursday night during a welcoming party at the Madonna dell'Orto cloisters. Heavy lightning and rain reportedly left many guests soaked, forcing the event to end early. Perhaps Bezos and Sánchez should have followed fashion week's lead and hired a rain shaman. The biggest hint that Sánchez will at some point wear a dress by Dolce & Gabbana stems from a photo of Domenico Dolce enjoying aperitivo hour at the Gritti Palace, a five-star hotel on Venice's Grand canal. Sánchez is a long-time fan of the Italian label but, saying that, she isn't particularly loyal to any brand, and it's thought that Anna Wintour – who is likely attending – is supportive of the idea. As she recently told Vogue after decades of dressing in tailoring during her TV presenting days, she is now focusing on 'having fun' with fashion. Plus, she has the budget to buy whatever she wants rather than rely on designers to approve her wearing a loan. Sánchez appeared to whizz off to the ceremony in an Audrey Hepburn cosplay in a headscarf and dark glasses. Getting lost in Venice is part of the charm. Not so if you have a staged paparazzi shot to get to. As anyone who's been in a city tour group will know, ensuring all parties are dressed in the same garb is the easiest way to stay with the party. Literal dressing, where you pay homage to the place, is one thing. The fetishisation of postwar Italian cultural icons such as Monica Vitti or Sophia Loren in some archive Cavalli (Kendall and Kylie) or vintage Versace snakeskin (Kim) is another. Still, it's probably the simplest way to stay with the crowd while reminding people you're in Italy. In case anyone had forgotten. With the ceremony not taking place until Friday evening, many guests found themselves with time to kill. With a personal art collection valued at $127mn, it came as no surprise that Bill Gates and a friend popped into the Gallerie dell'Accademia that houses the Pietà by Titian.

Kim Kardashian trolled for posting racy bikini snaps live from Bezos wedding in shameless self-promo stunt
Kim Kardashian had fans in a frenzy as she seemingly made the 'wedding of the century' all about herself. The 44-year-old makeup mogul was among the celebrity guests attending billionaire tech titan Jeff Bezos ' $20 million wedding to Lauren Sánchez on Venice's San Giorgio Maggiore island Friday. The lavish celebration kicked off with pre-wedding festivities at the historic Madonna dell'Orto cloisters, where A-listers like Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Brady, Oprah Winfrey, Orlando Bloom, and Ivanka Trump mingled under candlelight. Even Kim's famous family members—Khloe, Kendall, Kylie, and momager Kris Jenner—were spotted at the star-studded affair. But despite being surrounded by A-listers and an opulent setting, Kim couldn't seem to stay off her phone. She was spotted snapping selfies nonstop throughout the day—and in between her self-staged photo shoots, she slipped in a sizzling SKIMS promo, flaunting an animal print bikini on social media. The 44-year-old makeup mogul was among the celebrity guests attending billionaire tech titan Jeff Bezos ' $20 million wedding to Lauren Sánchez on Venice's San Giorgio Maggiore island Friday That move didn't sit well with everyone, sparking a wave of backlash online. 'The obvious attention seeking is really off putting,' wrote one X user. Another referenced Kim's famous reality show and the Kardashian family's signature use of the letter K, posting, 'Keeping it Klassy.' One critic took aim at her outfit choice, dragging her for promoting a controversial brand. 'Still supporting disgusting Balenciaga while attending this wasteful climate nightmare event,' they wrote. Others compared Kim to Bianca Censori, the risqué-dressing wife of her ex-husband, Kanye West. 'Why is she cosplaying Bianca Censori?' one wrote. Another chimed in, 'I thought this was Bianca. I like Kim, in general, but this look just screams 'money can't buy class.' Meanwhile, Jeff and Lauren reportedly shelled out a staggering $20 million for their extravagant multi-day wedding bash. As guests arrived at the ultra-luxe event, they were welcomed by the stirring sounds of trumpets, violins, and a soulful Gospel choir. That same choir returned to belt out Whitney Houston's Higher Love right after the couple exchanged their vows, with guests cheering and singing along during the heartfelt moment. Opera singer Matteo Bocelli kicked off the wedding reception with a touching tribute, opening his set with the timeless Elvis Presley classic I Can't Help Falling in Love With You. The son of renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli stepped in since his father was tied up with concerts in southern Italy over the weekend. Earlier in the day, award-winning journalist Sanchez made a chic first appearance, stepping out of the five-star Aman Hotel in a sophisticated white Dior puff-sleeve suit, perfectly accessorized with a headscarf and oversized sunglasses. She also flashed a dazzling new giant diamond ring that caught plenty of attention. It was revealed last night that Jeff and Lauren had already legally tied the knot before today's official ceremony on San Giorgio Maggiore island. The star-studded celebrations kicked off Thursday evening with a lavish welcome dinner at the Campo Della Madonna dell'Orto. However, the billionaire couple and their A-list entourage had to seek shelter when a sudden thunderstorm rolled in during the pre-wedding party. Lauren wowed in a shimmering $100,000 gown by Daniel Roseberry, featuring intricate embroidery of swirling vines and florals in rich blue, green, and gold tones over a champagne-colored base. To mark the grand occasion, the couple reportedly rented out multiple locations around the city. An insider told last week that San Giorgio Maggiore island is essentially 'off-limits to visitors' from June 24 through June 29. Originally, a massive party was scheduled for Saturday night at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, but local media report it has since been relocated to another venue in the Arsenale district.

Single Charlize Theron reveals what men lie about on celebrity dating app Raya
Charlize Theron isn't having any luck on the dating apps, specifically, celebrity dating app Raya. And she blames the men on the apps for it as being a beautiful, successful, wealthy celebrity isn't enough to get past the guys with photos from Burning Man. The Old Guard actress, 49, appeared on the Thursday, June 26, episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen and revealed that she is on Raya. 'Every guy has a Burning Man picture and they're a CEO, like of nothing, or like a fitness instructor. 'And then you meet with them and they're not, and they just say it up front! I'm like, "Well, why did you put that on your thing?"' Theron said. 'No, I don't like it.' 'I don't do anything with it,' Theron told Cohen, who said he's also a subscriber. 'Yes, I don't do anything with it.' She continued, 'A friend put me on it, I went on two dates, and then I just kind of stopped.' And Charlize has dated her fair share of celebs including actors Craig Bierko, Stuart Townsend and Sean Penn, as well as Train frontman Stephan Jenkins and model Gabriel Aubry. She was also reportedly dating Alex Dimitrijevic in 2023. Last week, Charlize revealed her children have 'zero respect' for her award-winning acting career. The actress appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live looking stunning in a glamorous black blazer dress and a sheer floor-length skirt as she discussed her children's thoughts on her career. Charlize's motherhood journey began when she adopted daughters Jackson, 11, and August, seven. But it seems her children are not phased by the fact she's a huge movie star or features on billboards, as she told Jimmy, 'my children have zero respect for me' when asked if they are impressed by her career. Laughing towards the audience, she said: 'My children have zero respect for me. I don't know how, it's just unbelievable. 'And then you meet with them and they're not, and they just say it up front! I'm like, "Well, why did you put that on your thing?"' Theron said. Seen here June 24, 2025 'I feel like I'm pretty humble, but every once in a while I'm like there's a f*****g Oscar right there.' The audience and Jimmy erupted into laughter as she added: 'No, they're so not impressed with me.' Charlize became the first South African to win an acting Oscar when she picked up the Best Actress gong for 2003 drama Monster. Recalling picking up her daughter the day before, she explained: 'I was picking up my youngest from dance yesterday and we drove past that new Mission Impossible poster, where Tom Cruise is hanging onto some like yellow plane. 'And he just looks really cool, and my kids were with me when I shot Old Guard 2, and I worked on this incredibly intricate sequence where we brought in this amazing helicopter pilot, Fred North, and we were gonna choreograph this incredible scene. 'Like me fighting helicopters and jumping on this real helicopter and hanging off and shooting like 99 per cent of it on a real helicopter, as it's like trying to shake me off like a ragdoll, and we took two weeks to shoot this sequence. 'And I was like, "Wow, I just did that" That's really amazing. And my child yesterday, just looked at this poster of Tom Cruise and went "That's weird, he looks so much cooler than you did when you were hanging off that helicopter" She laughed, adding: 'I was just like, "but I hung off the helicopter, like just some credit."' Theron reprised her role as 6,732-year-old warrior Andromache 'Andy' of Scythia in the Netflix superhero sequel. The Studio guest star also executive produced Victoria Mahoney's small-screen adaptation of Greg Rucka's 2017 graphic novel, which wrapped production way back in 2022. Old Guard 2 is set to launch globally on the streaming service Netflix on July 2, 2025.
