Eclectic artwork and a treasure trove of knowledge, these two definitions can be used to describe Congress leader Shashi Tharoor's home in Delhi. During an old interview with Brut India, shared on YouTube on January 5, 2022, the politician gave a glimpse inside his Delhi home, which he calls a 'fairly modest sarkari bungalow'. Shashi Tharoor is an Indian politician, author, and a member of Congress. (File/ANI)

Inside Shashi Tharoor's Delhi home
The video begins with Shashi Tharoor showing his office inside his Delhi house, where he entertains guests and conducts meetings. The author and renowned politician is well known for his incredible vocabulary and command over the English language. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that half of the walls of his office are filled with books and several other awards.
Next, the politician shows the living room area inside his home, a huge space decorated with eclectic art on the walls, and pictures that document his political journey, including photographs with world leaders he rubs shoulders with. He revealed that the living room area is where he chills and spends some downtime. The politician also showed off an artwork painted by MF Husain himself, which takes a special place inside the room. 'That one Husain sahab painted for me, he has actually autographed it on the back for me, which is nice,' he revealed.
'A fairly modest bungalow'
The politician also showed other rooms inside his home, including a space with a wall dedicated to a collection of archival covers of all his books. He confessed, 'They even tossed in a few of the foreign editions, but not all of them.' The room also has family pictures, which include photos of his kids, grandchildren, and a few from his young age.
Lastly, when asked that his home is quite ostentatious, the politician humbly disagreed and quipped, 'It's actually a fairly modest sarkari bungalow, but we have done it up as nicely as we could, and a lot of it, especially this room, is actually the way Sunanda made it and left it, my late wife.'
Apart from books and art, the Congress leader also takes care of his health and revealed that he converted the garage into an indoor gym room with a treadmill, a few weights, barbells, and more.

‘Bullets speak louder than law': Bihar Gov must convene special session, says Congress

New Delhi: The Congress on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in Bihar, accusing it of turning the state into a haven for criminals and pushing it into a state of "lawlessness". Addressing a press briefing at the AICC headquarters in New Delhi, senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Akhilesh Prasad Singh said that under NDA rule, Bihar has transformed from a land of peace and knowledge into one where 'bullets speak louder than law'. His remarks came as a prominent Bihar-based businessman, Gopal Khemka, was shot dead outside his residence in Patna by a bike-borne assailant. 'This wasn't just a murder, it was an open challenge to the state machinery,' Singh said, slamming the administration for failing to act promptly. 'He lives right in front of Gandhi Maidan, near Maurya Hotel, and yesterday, when he was returning at 11:00 pm, he was murdered by dreaded criminals as soon as he got out of the car. The SSP Sahab lives there, the entire police department lives there…', said Singh. Quoting data from NCRB and Bihar Police Headquarters, Singh alleged that Bihar has seen a 323 per cent rise in total crimes since 2005, with over 53,000 murders and nearly 5.6 lakh heinous crimes registered in the last 17 years. Rape cases, child crimes, and atrocities against Dalits have surged alarmingly, he added, calling the state a "free zone for criminals." He further criticised the Election Commission over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, alleging a conspiracy to delete 2 crore voters, mostly from marginalised communities. Calling Bihar's current state "a tragedy", he demanded that the Governor convene a two-day special Assembly session to address the deteriorating law and order situation and discuss the controversial SIR process. However, when asked if Congress was demanding President's Rule, Singh clarified, 'We are not asking for President's Rule, but for accountability and urgent corrective measures.' He accused the BJP of rendering CM Nitish Kumar a 'puppet' and said, 'If this was the old Nitish Kumar, he would have resigned on moral grounds by now.'

Congress seeks CBI probe into infrastructure projects executed under AINRC-BJP government

The Congress has demanded a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into major projects undertaken by the All India N R Congress - Bharatiya Janata Party government in Puducherry. Talking to reporters after inspecting the reconstructed Rajiv Gandhi Bus Terminus along with Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and Pradesh Congress Committee chief V. Vaithilingam, former Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy said the bus stand has been opened without providing any facility for the passengers. While the shops inside the commercial complex have not been opened yet, there have been complaints from the commuters about lack of other amenities as well inside the bus terminus, he said. 'We have been complaining about the huge expenditure involved in the construction of the bus terminus. There are also complaints about other infrastructure projects implemented by the present government. An inquiry by the CBI only will bring out the truth,' he said. Mr. Vaithilingam said the Congress would approach the investigating agency demanding a probe into various infrastructure projects undertaken by the AINRC-BJP government. If the CBI failed to initiate inquiry, the party would certainly approach the High Court, he added. In a separate press briefing at the Pradesh Congress Committee office along with the AICC media in-charge Dolly Sharma, Mr. Vaithilingam said the recent election of the BJP president in Puducherry was just a 'sham.' 'The new president V. P. Ramalingam was earlier a nominated legislator of the BJP. His elevation as president of the party was also a nomination by the leadership. Mr. Ramalingam has never faced an election. No election was conducted at the party level. There is no internal democracy in the BJP,' the PCC chief said. The AICC media-in charge said the BJP central leadership was controlling Chief Minister N. Rangasamy. 'The AINRC-BJP government is involved in corrupt practices and even a ruling party member was involved in the encroachment of a temple land. The ruling combine has failed to obtain Statehood for Puducherry,' she said.

In his own words, "Wherever I go, people recognize me. It's honestly so surprising and kind of surreal." He's not exaggerating-after Squid Game Season 3 dropped, the show hit number one in a jaw-dropping 93 countries. The world's got Squid Game fever, and Lee Jung Jae is at the center of it all. He even joked about how, as Asians, we often hear that Westerners can't tell Asian faces apart. But now? "They spot me instantly, even if I'm just walking by on the street. That's when I realize just how massive Squid Game has become," he said, still sounding a bit stunned. Imagine your local rickshaw driver recognizing a K-drama star-yep, that's the level we're talking about. Squid Game: Not Just a Show, But a Cultural Tsunami What's wild is that even people who haven't watched Squid Game know about it. It's become a global pop culture reference, like Harry Potter or Game of Thrones. Lee Jung Jae pointed out that Squid Game has made Korean content a global obsession. "People start with Squid Game, then end up watching more K-dramas. It's boosted interest in all things Korean-music, food, fashion, you name it," he explained. And honestly, who hasn't fallen down a K-content rabbit hole at 2 a.m.? For Indian youth, this is like when Sacred Games or Mirzapur suddenly made Indian stories cool on the world stage. But with Squid Game, it's on steroids-K-content is now everywhere, and Lee Jung Jae is the face of that revolution. Fame Hits Different When It's Global Being famous in your own country is one thing, but being recognized everywhere is next-level. Lee Jung Jae admits he still can't fully process it. "It's a huge experience. I'm just grateful for all the love and attention. Sometimes I wish I could take it all in a bit more slowly," he shared. He's gone from being a respected actor in Korea to one of the most famous Koreans on the planet-no exaggeration. And here's the kicker: this fame isn't just about him. Lee hopes the Squid Game effect keeps the doors open for more Korean creators and actors, so the world keeps tuning in to what Korea has to offer. "I hope this wave doesn't fade away and that it brings good changes to not just culture, but all industries," he said, sounding like a true ambassador for K-culture.
