Mariners RHP Bryce Miller (elbow) heading back to IL

June 10 - Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller is heading back to the 15-day injured list with elbow inflammation.
Manager Dan Wilson confirmed the news after Monday's 8-4 loss in 11 innings to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
"It's the same issue as he had the last time. The cortisone shot wasn't as helpful as we had hoped," Wilson said, per the Seattle Times.
Miller, 26, came off the injured list on May 31 and made two starts. He allowed five runs on six hits in five innings in his most recent effort, a 5-4 loss to the Los Angeles Angels last Friday.
Miller is 2-5 with a 5.73 ERA through 10 starts in his third season with Seattle. He is 22-20 with a 3.82 ERA in 66 career appearances (all starts).
The Mariners recalled right-hander Logan Evans, 24, from Triple-A Tacoma to start Tuesday's game against Arizona, with right-hander Bryan Woo's start pushed back to Wednesday.

Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon in race against time to make Week 1 with foot injury

The Houston Texans have been hit with a major blow after Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon sustained a foot injury that could see him miss the start of the season. The 29-year-old Mixon will miss 'an extended period of time' according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport and has had his foot in a walking boot. But at present, it is unclear how Mixon hurt himself. He is on the 'non-football injury list' because the issue occured in the offseason and was not sustained through playing the game. Mixon is expected to be revealuated closer to Week One, where the Texans start the season in Los Angeles against the Rams. If Mixon is struggling to make the start of the season, it would be another significant loss for the Texans. Wide receiver Tank Dell is expected to miss the entire campaign after sustaining a serious knee injury against Kansas City Chiefs last season that required multiple surgeries.

Swans dealt Santos blow as Sheehan gives injury update

Swansea City centre-back Ricardo Santos will miss the beginning of the 2025-26 season because of a knee who joined the Swans from Bolton Wanderers earlier this summer, landed awkwardly during his side's pre-season loss to Cheltenham Town in midweek."We are without three centre-halves and two wingers at the moment," said Swansea City manager Alan Sheehan."Anyone who was at the Cheltenham game will know about Ricardo. He had a shocking landing, and he will be out for a while now as he hyperextended his leg."Like Santos, club captain Ben Cabango, Filip Lissah, Jisung Eom and Zeidane Inoussa all missed Swansea's 1-0 pre-season defeat by Exeter City on Saturday."Ben Cabango is incredibly important to us, and we are going to get him scanned again as he has a little something in his calf which we need to look further into," added Sheehan."Filip Lissah turned his ankle, the same as we had with Jisung, and Inoussa was left out as a precaution."
