New adventure park to open in heart of Wicklow this summer
Zipit Forest Adventures, which operates a high ropes and zipline experience in dedicated Coillte forests, is opening its newest adventure park in Djouce Park on Friday, July 18.
Djouce will be the fourth adventure park for the firm, building on the success of its existing locations in Tibradden Wood, Dublin, Farran Forest Park in Cork, and Lough Key Forest Park in Roscommon.
The new course promises the same "adrenaline-pumping activities' and is accessible to participants as young as three.
Zipit opted for Djouce Park for its unique setting, given it is easily accessible within the county and from Dublin via the N11 or the scenic Sally Gap route. The park is perfectly situated on a former golf course fairway at the edge of Djouce Woods. The course offers wide-open skies and uninterrupted views, providing a different experience from Zipit's traditionally forested courses.
Where other locations are limited to those aged seven and upwards, Djouce Park will feature a variety of elements within a low ropes course, designed for children between the ages of three and six. The high ropes course is open to everyone aged from seven and reaches 12 metres off the ground.
Each Zipit session lasts three hours and includes the completion of a safety briefing.
Cian O'Callaghan, head of sales and marketing, explained why the Wicklow location was perfect for the latest adventure park.
'We're incredibly excited to launch our newest course in Djouce. This area of Wicklow offers a stunning backdrop for outdoor adventure, and we've created a course that blends excitement, challenge and fun in a totally new way,' he said.
'This course is Zipit's first that's accessible to kids as young as three, and we can't wait to see the excitement on the younger adventurers' faces as they take part in Ireland's newest adventure course.'
Tickets for Zipit Djouce are now available for advance booking at zipit.ie, and with demand expected to be high this summer, early booking is strongly recommended. Zipit Djouce is offering a first time use discount code (FIRST10) throughout the month of June for advance bookings, giving customers 10pc off.
