
Dubai Future Forum 2024 to Host 150 Prominent Speakers to Address Global Trends
This global event will feature around 70 sessions, including panel discussions, keynote addresses, and workshops at the Museum of the Future from November 19 to 20.
More than 2,500 experts from around 100 countries are expected to attend, alongside representatives from 100 international organisations specialising in future design.

Prof. Pattie Maes (MIT), commenting on her participation, said: 'Dubai Future Forum is taking place at a pivotal moment as we stand ready to maximise the benefits of future technology and AI, which promise significant opportunities for global development and societal benefit.'
Bo Viktor Nylund (UNICEF Innocenti) posed a thought-provoking question: 'What will the world look like in 2050 for future generations? This is directly depending on us. Through collective action, we can design a better future for children, centring the future of generations to come in all strategic plans and initiatives.'
Anne Beate Hovind (Library of the Future) highlighted the role of cultural exchange, saying: 'The Forum brings together influential figures to share ideas, strengthening global cultural connections and shared values.'
Glenn Gainor (Amazon Studios) said: 'With advancing technology, more people can share their stories widely, shaping perceptions, inspiring change, and bridging cultures and generations.'
Paul Saffo, a renowned futurist and adjunct professor at Stanford, highlighted the significance of the event, stating: 'The Dubai Future Forum is an essential annual gathering for exploring the latest research, studies, and methodologies in foresight. It offers an unparalleled platform to address major global challenges and is a must-attend for foresight specialists aiming to amplify their impact.'
Dr Jordan Nguyen, inventor, author, speaker, and biomedical engineer at Psykinetic, expressed his excitement for the event, stating: 'I look forward to attending the Dubai Future Forum and connecting with influential leaders from around the world to exchange ideas that can benefit humanity. This gathering allows us to collectively capitalise on our ever-evolving tools in science and technology to focus on a better future—for our people, our planet, and life on Earth.'
Prof. Angela Maas, a cardiologist specialised in heart disease in women at Radboud University Medical Centre in Nijmegen, Netherlands, emphasised the importance of inclusive healthcare, noting: 'Participating in the Dubai Future Forum will provide an invaluable opportunity to discuss the importance of gender-sensitive cardiology, which prioritises cardiovascular health for women, ultimately improving healthcare quality for society as a whole.'

Sessions and activities at this forum will delve into future trends in key sectors, including space, sustainability, environment, energy, food, health, education, technology, AI, digital economy, and government operations.
The forum will also showcase the top 100 pilot projects and innovative solutions under the 'Dubai Future Solutions – Prototypes for Humanity' initiative.
This programme, held under the patronage of Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, is a collaboration between the Dubai Future Foundation and the Hussain Sajwani – DAMAC Foundation, the strategic partner recently pledged AED100m ($27m) to support innovation and technology.
This year's Forum edition will include new activations before, during, and after the main event to foster connections through interactive, cultural, and artistic gatherings throughout Dubai.
These activities are designed to empower participants with the knowledge and skills needed to anticipate emerging trends and share insights on future planning methodologies, scenario development, and innovative problem-solving approaches.

BSA showcases Arab model for strategic space planning
The Bahrain Space Agency (BSA), in collaboration with the UN-affiliated Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology Education for Western Asia, held a workshop on strategic planning for space programmes, highlighting the Bahraini experience as a regional model. The workshop, attended by representatives from several Arab countries, aimed to foster regional cooperation and unify visions in the space sector. Technologies Yaqoob Al Qassab, Space Engineering Specialist, opened the workshop with a presentation on Bahrain's history in utilising space technologies, the national space policy framework, and the implementation mechanism of the agency's 2024–2028 strategic plan. He emphasised success factors including international cooperation, scientific research investment, national capacity building, and the importance of a supportive infrastructure for space projects. Aysha Al Haram, Chief Satellite Design Department at the BSA, presented a case study on translating strategic plans into tangible projects. Success She highlighted the success of Bahrain's joint satellite with the UAE, 'Light-1' (2021), and the national satellite 'Al Munther' (2025), the first Arab satellite to incorporate embedded artificial intelligence technologies. Al Haram emphasised the pivotal role of young Bahraini talent in successfully delivering these projects. She also outlined Bahrain's approach in linking strategic planning with practical space applications, such as using satellite data to monitor environmental challenges and establishing a satellite imagery lab to support decision-making in urban planning.

Bahrain Participates in Key Arab Space Cooperation Meeting in Egypt
The Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by aerospace engineer Youssef Al Qattan from the Bahrain Space Agency, took part in the 11th meeting of the Arab Space Cooperation Group and the 4th "New Space Africa" conference. The events were hosted by the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt and saw wide participation from space sector experts across the Arab world and internationally. Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Osairi, CEO of the Bahrain Space Agency, highlighted the importance of young Bahraini talent attending international conferences. He explained that involving young nationals in such forums is a key part of the agency's strategy to develop human capital. "Empowering our young people means giving them opportunities to represent Bahrain on global stages and to contribute to knowledge-based decision making," he said. Dr. Al-Osairi expressed pride in engineer Youssef Al Qattan's representation of Bahrain at the conference, which attracted many space agencies and industry leaders from around the world. "These opportunities showcase the new Bahraini generation's ability to engage with global challenges and offer innovative ideas in a vital sector like space. We will continue to support our national talents to be active players in regional and international space efforts." Engineer Youssef Al Qattan thanked both the Bahrain Space Agency and the National Center for Space Science and Technology in Abu Dhabi for nominating him. He emphasized how important such initiatives are for empowering distinguished young Arabs in the space field. "I am proud to represent Bahrain at this important scientific event. It gave me a valuable chance to learn about African countries' experiences in space and to explore youth-led initiatives in this field. Speaking about the Arab Satellite Project 813 allowed me to highlight the role of Arab youth in joint space programs and the importance of building scientific projects based on cooperation between nations. This experience is unforgettable, and I will share what I learned with my colleagues and the youth of Bahrain." The Bahrain Space Agency is committed to supporting and developing young national talents by nominating them for international events, conferences, and specialized training programs. Bahrain appointed Chair of Arab Space Strategy Committee
The Kingdom of Bahrain was selected to chair the committee responsible for developing the Arab Space Strategic Plan during the 11th meeting of the Arab Space Cooperation Group, held in Egypt. This appointment recognises Bahrain's growing leadership role in the regional space sector, its institutional strength in strategic planning, and its notable success in advancing international cooperation. Rasha Al Amad, Chief of Strategic Planning at the Bahrain Space Agency (BSA), has been appointed to chair the committee, which includes representatives from eight Arab space agencies. She will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Arab Space Strategic Plan. The committee aims to coordinate efforts at both national and regional levels to enhance collaboration, positioning the Arab region as a competitive force in the global space sector. Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Al Aseeri, CEO of BSA, welcomed the appointment as recognition of the Agency's strong regional capabilities. He underscored BSA's commitment to close cooperation with Arab space agencies to establish a unified space strategy that promotes innovation, capacity-building, and enhances the region's position in global scientific and technological advancement. He further noted that through this structured and collaborative process, the committee will work on establishing a comprehensive and unified strategy for the Arab space sector. This will include consultations with member states to define shared goals, aligning regional ambitions with global trends, and developing a clear roadmap that supports the sustainable growth of the sector across the region. Al Amad expressed her honour in leading the committee, highlighting its key role in shaping the future of the Arab space sector. She stressed the importance of strong cooperation among member states, a structured approach to strategy development, and consistent coordination throughout its implementation. She added that once the strategy is approved, the committee will oversee its implementation, monitor progress using agreed performance indicators, assess results, and issue regular reports on achievements and areas for improvement. This approach will ensure the Arab Space Strategic Plan remains flexible and responsive to changing regional and global developments. This leadership role underscores the BSA's growing expertise in space governance, strategic planning, and international collaboration. It is worth noting that the Agency played a key role in formulating Bahrain's National Space Policy and its regulatory framework, laying the groundwork for sustainable development in this vital sector.
