TikTok star arrested for $60k damage caused to F1 car

Perth Now13 hours ago
Popular British streamer and Tiktokker Angryginge found himself in hot water on the weekend after spending a night behind bars for allegedly causing $60,000 worth of damage to an F1 car.
The online star, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, was at the British Grand Prix for the Silverstone Circuit when the seemingly harmless gag turned sour.
Angryginge, along with two other streamers he was at the event with Chazza and SamHam, were arrested after allegedly causing more than $60,000 in criminal damage to a BWT Racing Point F1 Team Car, The Sun reports.
The ordeal unfolded after Chazza sat in the car, and allegedly damaged it while trying to exit the pink display vehicle — leading to the three of them spending 15-hours in detention before being released without charges.
'On Friday, July 4, Northamptonshire Police received a report that a classic Formula 1 car on display at Silverstone Circuit during the British Grand Prix event had sustained several thousands of pounds worth of damage, which was alleged to have been caused by someone accessing the display stand and climbing into the vehicle,' A Northampton Police spokesperson told The Sun.

'Following a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the incident, all three men were released with no further action.'
After their release, Angryginge took to TikTok, sharing a video outside the police station to his two million followers saying, 'Just got out the penn... 15 hours done, free ginge.'

The 23-year-old then uploaded a 28 minute long YouTube video, showing their footage of the events leading up to the arrest and his explanation afterwards.
'We got arrested and then released because we did nothing wrong, no charge — nothing,' he said outside the station.
'This is mental... (security) accused us of criminal damage of £30,000 (AUD$62,496), we were streaming the whole thing and know full well we didn't damage nothing.' The TikTokker and his crew being detained by police at the F1 event. Credit: X
During a live stream following the incident, the content creator claimed they witnessed people getting in and out of the car which led to their friend following suit.
They continued to film themselves going about their day, but before they could attend a Red Bull event they had been invited to, security pulled them up and they were taken into custody for an overnight stay.
'It was a funny moment until the cell door shut, let me tell you I'm traumatised, genuinely traumatised,' the video creator said.

King Charles unveils painful-looking injury while hosting French president Emmanuel Macron

Don't miss out on the headlines from Royals. Followed categories will be added to My News. IN LONDON King Charles appears to have suffered from a burst blood vessel in his eye as he stepped into the spotlight to host a high-profile state visit. The British monarch, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, was sporting a bright red right eye in pictures taken as he welcomed French president Emmanuel Macron and his wife, First Lady Brigitte, to Windsor on Tuesday. According to The Sun, his eye was affected overnight prior to the visit and is unrelated to any other health conditions. The King was joined by the Queen and Prince William and Kate, the Princess of Wales, in a royal carriage procession with the Macrons. The King appeared in Windsor with a painful-looking red eye. Picture: Dylan Martinez –It's understood his eye was affected sometime overnight before the state visit began. Picture: Dylan Martinez –Following the carriage procession, Mr and Mrs Macron had lunch with the royal family at Windsor Castle. It marks the first time a state visit has been hosted at that royal residence, rather than Buckingham Palace, in more than a decade. It's also the first French state visit to the UK in almost 20 years, following former president Nicolas Sarkozy's 2008 visit. The senior royals welcomed the French couple to Windsor. Picture: Dylan Martinez –Following lunch, Mr Macron laid a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior at Westminster Abbey before heading to the Palace of Westminster to address the British parliament. On Tuesday evening, UK time, he and his wife will be the gests of honour at a State Banquet at Windsor Castle. Meanwhile, details of the four gifts brought to Windsor by Mr Macron for the King have been revealed, with each piece carefully chosen to reflect his personal interests. It includes a rare, special edition of Claude Debussy's opera, Pelléas et Mélisande, which features a handwritten dedication from the original publisher to one of the performers, a ceremonial trumpet associated with the French National Guard, a personalised, luxury watercolour box and a gourmet hamper of sweet and savoury delicacies from France. Terry Gilliam enjoys watching Donald Trump and Elon Musk argue 'like children in the playground'

Terry Gilliam has almost enjoyed seeing Donald Trump and Elon Musk "go at each other like two children in the playground". The President of the United States and his former friend fell out recently over a proposed spending bill, with the pair taking shots at each other over the past few weeks. Monty Python star Terry told Deadline: "I'm almost finding it enjoyable to listen to Trump and Musk go at each other like two children in the playground. "It's the world's richest man and the world's most powerful man behaving like that." Just this week, the 78-year-old commander-in-chief hit out at his former friend and advisor after the tech mogul declared his intention to start his own political party, the America Party. Although Terry, AGE, admitted it's "fascinating", he did take aim at the way the Trump administration is trying to tackle immigration. He added: "That's kind of fascinating and entertaining, and I think the idea of pushing all those people out of California, in all of America, that's the workforce folks, it isn't going to give more jobs to Americans. "We need immigrants. The same thing happened when Britain left Europe." The filmmaker - who was born in Minnesota, grew up in Los Angeles and later became a naturalised British citizied in 1968 - insisted he has no intention of living in the US again, having formally renounced his citizenship in 2006. He said: "I haven't been back to [live in] America since whenever it was, and I don't intend to. "I think America is in a very difficult position now because Trump and company are quite extraordinary. "On the other hand, he may actually succeed where other people didn't, in a strange way. It's like Richard Nixon, you know, brought about the rapprochement with China." Over the weekend, Tesla boss Musk revealed his plans to set up a political party to give people "back [their] freedom". He wrote on X, which he owns : 'By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it! When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste + graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. 'Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.' The president fired back on his own Truth Social platform: 'I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely 'off the rails,' essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks. "He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States."

Meghan and Harry cutting staff to save cash: report

Don't miss out on the headlines from Royals. Followed categories will be added to My News. IN LONDON Prince Harry and Meghan's decision to part ways with their communications team was part of a cost-saving measure, according to a new report. The couple's staffing woes were again in the spotlight recently following reports six more members of their team had departed. Among them was Charlie Gipson, their European communications director, and Kyle Boulia, their LA-based deputy press secretary, who were let go after barely a year on the job. The Sun reported at the time that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had blamed them for failing to counter a spate of negative media coverage. However, according to Page Six, financial worries may have played a bigger role – with the publication adding that the tally of staff who have either resigned or been fired since they branched out on their own in 2020 actually around 25. 'It's the same old story – they cycle through staff as quickly as normal people cycle through toilet paper. Milk lasts longer than their employees,' a source told Page Six. Meghan and Harry at Beyoncé's LA concert earlier this year. Picture: Instagram They've reportedly been looking for ways to cut back on costs, according to a new report. Picture:for TIME It's also understood that Harry and Meghan's multimillion-dollar Netflix deal will expire this year. At the time it was signed, it was estimated to be worth around $100 million – although sources have since put that number closer to $20 million. Either way, the streaming service is now prioritising 'first look deals' rather than exclusive contracts, and therefore a new agreement could be worth significantly less for the couple, who have enormous overheads including the mortgage on their Montecito mansion, annual security and also staffing costs. Last month, when the Sussex team changes came to light, the UK's Telegraph claimed that, in total, six employees had left or been fired recently. Along with Gipson and Boulia, it reportedly included the head of operations at Archewell, Lianne Cashin, Archewell's director of communications, Deesha Tank, and Meghan's social media manager, who was reportedly already gone prior to her posting her viral dance video on Instagram. According to The Sun, Harry and Meghan have now employed a team from the US-based Method Communications and hired Emily Robinson – who previously looked after publicity for Netflix's The Crown – as their new director of communications. A former employee of Bill Gates, Sarah Fosmo, is Meghan's new chief of staff. Harry and Meghan's chief communications officer, Meredith Maines, told The Sun the staffing overhaul was about providing better 'access'. 'Transitioning from a team of two to an agency support staff of eight, operating across five different time zones, will give international media and stakeholders better access,' she said in a statement. However, the story inevitably reignited previous allegations of Meghan's management style, with an unflattering Vanity Fair article earlier this year painting her as a ruthless boss. One ex-staffer compared Meghan to a 'Mean Girls teenager', and described working on her Archetypes podcast as 'really, really awful' and 'very painful'. Others described 'taking extended breaks' to 'escape scrutiny' or 'undergoing long-term therapy' after working with her. Both Harry and Meghan have strenuously denied allegations of poor behaviour toward staff in the past. Originally published as Meghan and Harry cutting staff to save cash: report
