Here, I put three to the test . . .

I found the formulas slightly waxy, which means it's hard work getting them to melt into skin
Credit: Supplied
By Beauty Bay Make Face multi-use complexion palette, £18 for 48.5g, beautybay.com: Cream formulas are my favourite.
I find they tend to be easier to apply as you can use your fingers rather than needing any brushes.
And they often look more natural than those with a powder finish.

There's an impressive 12 shades in this compact – three concealers, two colour correctors, three bronzer/contour shades, two blushers, setting powder and a highlighter shade.
It works out at £1.50 per pan, which is a bargain.
But I found the formulas slightly waxy, which means it's hard work getting them to melt into skin.

Sculpted By Aimee is so good, I've been using it daily, rather than saving it just for travel
Credit: Supplied
Sculpted By Aimee bare basics palette, £34 for 22g, sculptedbyaimee.co.uk: I've never used every single shade in a palette, but this clever collection has made that possible.
The seven pans contain a suits-all edit of products.
Three powder eye-shadows (a champagne-hued shimmer, matte warm-toned brown and a shimmery darker brown), a bronzer and a setting powder alongside a cream highlighter and a cream blush.
How to stop sore feet and blisters in new sandals
The powders are super pigmented, and finely milled so as not to be chalky or dusty, while the balms are buttery enough to blend out in seconds, yet still deposit plenty of colour.
It's so good, I've been using it daily, rather than saving it just for travel.
LUXURY

Kevyn Aucoin Contour Book is brilliant for sculpting cheeks, but there isn't enough variety to replace my usual make-up
Credit: Supplied
Kevyn Aucoin Contour Book: The Art Of Sculpting & Defining Vol III, £54 for 23.9g, sephora.co.uk: I am a huge fan of Kevyn Aucoin's The Sculpting Powder, so I had high hopes for this palette.
There are only six shades, all centered on the cheeks, which can be repurposed as eyeshadow.
But the lack of setting powder is a huge omission for my oily skin.
The powders are very pigmented, so a little goes a long way, and they don't look at all heavy on the skin.
It's brilliant for sculpting cheeks, but there isn't enough variety to replace my usual make-up.

The Finnish-like glamping resort in the UK countryside with safari lodges, sauna and outdoor cinemas

When it comes to food, there are a few pubs nearby, or you can whip up a barbecue and dine al fresco on your decking GLAMP IT UP The Finnish-like glamping resort in the UK countryside with safari lodges, sauna and outdoor cinemas Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) DRAGONFLIES swoop between the reeds and pollen floats in the air, flickering in the last of the afternoon sunlight. I'm half-submerged in icy cold water in a lake, breathing a sigh of relief, as I soak up my summer surroundings. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 4 Relax and unwind in the hot tub Credit: Supplied 4 The sauna at The Nest Credit: supplied I can't handle the freezing plunge for long, though, and soon I'm darting back to the sauna, just a few metres away, to warm up again. This may all sound very Finnish, but I'm actually in the middle of the English countryside at The Nest Glamping. The Peterborough holiday site is home to a trio of luxury lakeside safari tents placed on an immaculate patch of farm land, surrounded by nature. It was my first time glamping and until now, I'd always wandered just how 'glam' it can really be. As it turns out, very. Each of the tents has electricity, a kitchen with a fridge, kettle and plug-in electric hob, a flushing toilet and hot water. There's no WiFi or TV, though, encouraging guests to fully switch off for the duration of their stay. I was visiting with four close friends and our adventure started with a win from the moment we arrived, thanks to the wheelbarrows left in the car park so that guests can easily transport their luggage to their tent. Whip up barbecue We may have been staying in a safari tent, but the wooden floors and interiors felt a world apart. Our large living space featured a dining table with room for six, and a fancy leather sofa, plus three bedrooms. Take a look around The Nest Glamping lodges There was a twin, a master with a king-size bed offering lake views, and another with a king-size bed built into a sort-of cupboard, accessible by a ladder (super cute). The White Company bedding was a huge upgrade on the decade-old sleeping bag I normally take camping, although you may still want to wrap up warm. It got chilly at night, so we were grateful for the hot water bottles, thick blankets and firewood for the wood-burning stove (don't worry if you've never used one before — there are instructions in the welcome pack). The stove doubles up as a cooker, with a hob and built-in oven compartment — very convenient. The highlight, though, was a free-standing bathtub which offered immaculate views over the still lake. Be it the bathtub, lake or hot tub, I find myself wallowing in water a lot at The Nest Be it the bathtub, lake or hot tub, I find myself wallowing in water a lot at The Nest. I'm not brave enough to properly swim out into the lake, like my friends, but there are kayaks moored at the edge so I didn't miss out. You can also bring your own fishing rods or rent a paddleboard. When it comes to food, there are a few pubs nearby, or you can whip up a barbecue and dine al fresco on your decking. There's also the option to hire a pizza oven, with supplies like dough provided — one of the many add-ons you can buy. We thought everything was reasonably priced when split between a group. The hot tub worked out at £40pp between five of us for our stay, and the sauna was £50 in total for an hour. 4 A luxury lakeside safari-style tent Credit: Supplied 4 The fire pit at the open-air cinema Credit: Supplied We hired the 'movie night' add-on for £75 on one night and it was worth every penny. It's a bit like a private open-air cinema experience, with a screen and projector set up outside your tent. We cosied up on cushioned chairs with blankets and popcorn to watch Bohemian Rhapsody while our toes warmed by the fire pit. For a bit of pampering you can book a massage — Swedish, deep tissue or pregnancy — or there are private yoga and Pilates classes. Private chefs can be recommended to make a dining party on the lake, too. If you're keen to explore further afield, nearby Sacrewell Farm has animals to pet, a play park and farmhouse cafe. I could have easily spent an entire week there myself, without ever leaving the site There are several stately homes and historic landmarks, too, such as Peterborough Cathedral and Belvoir Castle, as well as food markets and golf courses. For the kids, Rutland Aqua Park a 20-minute drive away is perfect for scorching summer days. I can't imagine children would ever get bored at The Nest, though. I could have easily spent an entire week there myself, without ever leaving the site. And with a glorious summer ahead of us, I can't think of a better place to head. That icy lake sounds very good right about now.

I love stepping out in a skimpy dress with my super long legs – and watching jaws hit the floor when I reveal my age

The blonde beauty has also revealed some of her tips to stay in top shape - including a shower hack for her toned legs YOU GO GIRL I love stepping out in a skimpy dress with my super long legs – and watching jaws hit the floor when I reveal my age Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A MUM has rubbished the suggestion that people should dress their age - despite what brutal trolls have to say. Stylish mother Sue Giers, from Hamburg, Germany, shares passion for fashion - and previously confessed that being ''basic'' is not in her ''DNA''. Credit: TikTok / @ Although some expect women to become invisible after reaching a certain age, one thing is clear - Sue refuses to do so, regularly sporting skimpy frocks and ensembles. The blonde beauty, who left people stunned after revealing her age, is no stranger to jumping on the latest trends - whether that's showing off her toned legs is teeny dresses or flaunting her enviable body in figure-hugging rompers. Despite what keyboard warriors have to say, the German entrepreneur also continues to share fit checks on her TikTok page, where she's won close to 80k followers. One such clip recently saw the blonde beauty show off just some of her summer wardrobe favourites - a tube dress with cutout detailing around the slim waist and a mega thigh-high split. The mum, who looked sensational, had paired the fit with strappy heels, loose waves and a chic purse in black. For Sue, who is 55, it's more than just about clothes - it's also a reflection of how far she's come, she previously revealed. ''These pieces aren't just fabric: they're a celebration of the journey that brought me here. ''From moments of uncertainty to moments of pure confidence, my style reflects the courage to embrace every stage of life with grace and authenticity. ''I hope to inspire others to redefine ageing and beauty, showing that true style knows no age. ''Let's continue to empower each other to boldly express ourselves and live life to the fullest!'' Sue reminded in the uplifting post. Six steps I follow to keep my legs looking so good at 55 The 55-year-old also shared some of her go-to tips to stay in top shape, including a shower trick. 'I think my legs are in better shape than they were in my twenties,' Sue, from Germany, told What's The Jam. 'I've been focusing on fitness all of my life, dancing until I was 17 and trying out new things – I love a challenge. 'Since I started doing weight training, my legs have become very toned, and I'm stronger than ever.' As well as spending time working out, Sue shared six 'unique hacks' she swears by to keep her legs looking 'fabulous'. One of them includes leg elevation which ''reduces swelling and promotes better circulation'', as well as alternating between hot and cold water when showering, which she says is a 'game changer'. The 5 best exercises to lose weight By Lucy Gornall, personal trainer and health journalist EXERCISE can be intimidating and hard to devote yourself to. So how do you find the right workout for you? As a PT and fitness journalist, I've tried everything. I've taken part in endless fitness competitions, marathons and I maintain a regime of runs, strength training and Pilates. Fitness is so entrenched in my life, I stick to it even at Christmas! The key is finding an activity you love that can become a habit. My top five forms of exercise, especially if you're trying to lose weight, are: Walking Running Pilates High-intensity interval training (HIIT) Strength training She said: 'This enhances blood flow and firms up the skin on my legs.' Next, the fitness buff also likes to creates a scrub using coffee grounds, brown sugar and almond oil to use as a 'natural exfoliant'. She said: 'Massaging this blend onto my legs in circular motions smooths the skin and boosts circulation.' As with any health advocate, Sue is also a staunch supporter of the high-fibre diet. She said: 'Lots of fruits, veggies and wholegrains help reduce water retention, keeping my legs lean and toned.' As for her taut and toned stomach? Sue recommends taking cold showers and ice baths, trying to stand up instead of sitting down wherever possible, practice a stomach 'vacuuming' exercise to strengthen the core, cut processed sugar, and to laugh as much as possible to engage the abs. The mum's to her thousands of followers is simple: embrace your age – but don't let it limit you. She added: 'Don't be afraid to age. 'But don't be afraid to make changes either. 'Find your discipline and just do it every day, no matter how you feel – because eventually you always feel better. 'Even if it's just 10 minutes, it's the quality time that you deserve for yourself.'

Manchester Arena bombing survivor makes emotional return to city for first time for Oasis homecoming gig

Joanne McSorley said listening to them had helped her during dark times. Joanne, 51, of Runcorn, Cheshire, was with her mum to collect her two daughters when she was caught in the suicide blast. She still battles chronic pain and depression as a result of the injuries she suffered. Yesterday she travelled to the city centre for the first time since that night to join DJ Vernon Kay on his BBC Radio 2 morning show celebrating the reunion of Liam and Noel Gallagher. Joanne, who was at the band's Heaton Park gig last night, told him: 'Today is special. 'Oasis are, and always have been, huge and they'd always meant something to us anyway as a family. "And then those songs, Don't Look Back in Anger, Live Forever, became sort of anthems of Manchester and I looked at them in a different way then. 'Being involved in something like that and the way it affects you, the domino effect it has on your family, it takes you to a very dark place.' During her lowest moments Joanne said her brother would send her Oasis lyrics or videos to cheer her up. And she revealed how overwhelming her return to Manchester had been. Oasis kick off historic reunion tour as Noel & Liam reunite for first show in Cardiff But Joanne said: 'I put myself in the moment, be here now.' Vernon quipped: 'Be here now, don't look back in anger and enjoy the sunshiiiine.' And Joanne reckoned: 'Don't look back in anger, I'm not doing that, I'm looking forward and they're on this journey with me, they're taking me forward, they're right there beside me.'
