Anger as Kanye West to perform in Slovakia after Hitler song
Calling West's appearance a 'global sensation', the organisers said it was his only confirmed live performance in Europe this year.
West, the winner of 24 Grammys over the course of his career, has become notorious in recent years for his erratic behaviour and increasingly anti-Semitic and hate-filled rhetoric.
The 48-year-old, who has legally changed his name to Ye, released 'Heil Hitler' on 8 May, the 80th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II.
'Hip-hop visionary, cultural icon and controversial genius YE will perform 20 July 2025 exclusively at the Rubicon Festival in Bratislava,' the organisers said on the event's website.
More than 3 000 people have signed a petition against West's performance in the Slovak capital.
The rapper - a vocal supporter of US President Donald Trump - is 'repeatedly and openly adhering to symbols and ideology connected with the darkest period of modern global history', two groups behind the petition said.
'Kanye West's concert in our city and our country is an insult to historic memory, a glorification of wartime violence and debasement of all victims of the Nazi regime,' the petition reads.
In the 'Heil Hitler' clip, dozens of Black men - wearing animal pelts and masks, and standing in a block formation - chant the title of the song, as West raps about being misunderstood and about his custody battle with ex-wife Kim Kardashian.
The song ends with an extract of a speech by the Nazi dictator.
West has also publicly endorsed fellow rapper and music mogul Sean Combs, who is on trial for alleged sex trafficking and racketeering.
The line-up of the Rubicon festival, scheduled for 18-20 July, also includes American rappers Ken Carson, Offset and Sheck Wes.

Donald Trump Takes On Late-Night Hosts, Again
This is not the late-night war many of us expected. President Donald Trump has once again waded into the world of late-night talkers, claiming that he was not responsible for the cancellation of CBS' The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, but suggesting that it was related to talent and money. He also, again, suggested that The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel would also have their shows axed. More from Deadline Donald Trump Celebrates CBS' Cancellation Of Stephen Colbert's 'The Late Show' Trump Celebrity Supporters: Famous Folks In Favor Of The 47th President Samantha Bee Says CBS Cancelling 'Late Show With Stephen Colbert' Was A "No-Brainer": "People Are Just Not Tuning In" 'Everybody is saying that I was solely responsible for the firing of Stephen Colbert from CBS, Late Night. That is not true! The reason he was fired was a pure lack of TALENT, and the fact that this deficiency was costing CBS $50 Million Dollars a year in losses — And it was only going to get WORSE!, the President posted on Truth Social. 'Next up will be an even less talented Jimmy Kimmel, and then, a weak, and very insecure, Jimmy Fallon. The only real question is, who will go first? Show Biz and Television is a very simple business. If you get Ratings, you can say or do anything. If you don't, you always become a victim. Colbert became a victim to himself, the other two will follow,' he added. Whether it's a good sign or not, Seth Meyers, who hosts Late Night for NBC, has been largely kept out of the conversation, despite zeroing in on many of Trump's controversies, including the escalating Epstein drama, in his A Closer Look segment. Kimmel, who is currently on holiday, was first to respond, in part with a dig, and also with a little promotion for one of his side hustles, a new episode of ABC's Who Wants to Be a Millionaire starring his nemesis Matt Damon and Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings. 'I know you're busy Sharpie-ing the Epstein files, but this seems like a weird way to tell people to watch Matt Damon and Ken Jennings on an all-new Who Wants to Be a Millionaire tomorrow night at 8|7c on ABC,' Kimmel replied on Instagram. When Will ‘South Park' Season 27 Return With Episode 2?
"South Park" Season 27 partial poster. 'South Park' Season 27 came back with a bang last week with its controversial President Donald Trump episode. When will creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone return with Episode 2 on cable and streaming? South Park officially returned with its 27th season last week on Wednesday, just on the heels of a new five-year, $1.5 billion deal between Paramount Global and creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The deal helped get Seasons 1-26 of South Park moved to Paramount+ and calls for the duo to produce 50 new episodes over the next five years. The premiere episode first played on cable's Comedy Central on Wednesday night before its Paramount+ debut on Thursday morning. By that time, the internet blew up over Parker and Stone's unmerciful comedic mockery of Trump. Among other things, the equal opportunity offenders gave the commander-in-chief small genitalia, put him in bed with Satan and had him entirely disrobe in a live-action AI deepfake 'public service announcement.' One thing Paramount+ has not been clear about so far with South Park Season 27 is when the new episodes air and what time they begin streaming on the platform. As such, outlets including this one and The Hollywood Reporter reported last week that the episodes would be airing weekly once the new season got underway. As of early Tuesday morning, USA Today reported that Episode 2 of the new season would be released on Wednesday, July 30, on Comedy Central and July 31 on Paramount. Now, however, Paramount+ has unexpectedly switched things up and the show has gone on hiatus for a week. Comedy Central announced Tuesday (via Deadline) that the next episode will not be released on July 30 and 31 on Comedy Central and Paramount+ and instead noted that the season will resume on Wednesday, Aug. 6, on the cable channel. That means, of course, that Episode 2 will not be streaming on Paramount+ until Aug. 7. Another thing Paramount+ still has not been forthcoming about is exactly what time the new episodes premiere on the streaming platform. As of this publication, an email to the show's PR representatives at Paramount+ has not been answered. What Will 'South Park' Season 27 Episode 2 Be About? In a promotional video teasing the return of South Park Season 27 Episode 2 on Tuesday (see above), the show kept up its mockery of President Donald Trump, this time by showing him rub Satan's leg under a dinner table. The promo teaser, which runs 20 seconds, also shows Cartman engaged in a debate about abortion with another student at South Park Elementary, with PC 'Power Christian' Principal standing behind him. In addition, the promo shows Mr. Garrison riding in an ICE vehicle with ICE officers holding a weapon and covering up his face. Whether the clips featuring Trump, Cartman and Garrison end up in the Aug. 6 episode is yet to be seen. During an appearance at San Diego Comic Con last Thursday (via Deadline), Trey Parker assured fans that the shows will remain topical and no episodes will be canned presentations. 'You seriously think we made a bunch of shows ahead of time and baked them for later? We're not doing any of that,' Parker told the crowd at Comic Con (via Deadline). According to the trade publication, Comedy Central will re-air the premiere episode on Wednesday, July 30. It is already streaming on Paramount+. South Park Season 27 Episode 2 will return to cable's Comedy Central on Aug. 8 and streaming on Paramount+ on Aug. 9.
