She is a regular face on TV as she appears on the broadcaster's coverage of Serie A in her homeland of Italy.

The races took place on Saturday (19 July), on a damp cloth-covered tabletop marked with concentric circles, with snails starting on the inner rim and racing toward the outer edge. Each race began with the call of 'ready, steady, slow.' Despite heavy rain, the event went ahead as spectators gathered, drawn by growing interest on social media and curiosity about the unusual competition. Organiser Nicholas Dickinson said, 'Snails like really damp conditions, so today is really good racing weather.'

UFC legend Dustin Poirier's farewell fight is ruined as he suffers defeat to Max Holloway

Dustin Poirier 's final UFC fight didn't go to plan as he suffered a defeat against Max Holloway. The fight took place in Poirier's hometown of Louisiana but it was Holloway who prevailed by unanimous decision as he won 48-47, 49-46, 49-46. It brought an end to Poirier's hugely impressive UFC career. He won 30 of his 41 MMA fights in total, having turned professional in 2009. Although Poirier had won on the previous two occasions that he faced Holloway, the latter came out on top this time. There was evidently much respect between the pair, with a spectacular fight having been anticipated. Poirier managed to respond well but Holloway was determined to seize control of the fight and he managed to do so. Holloway was hugely impressive in the third and fourth rounds, which severely reduced Poirier's chances of success. After the fight, Poirier admitted that he was overwhelmed with how much support he has received. He told ESPN: 'It's been overwhelming, honestly. I feel appreciated, I feel seen. I've never got to step outside a fight and look at it this way... but this week was unbelievable. I feel loved by the fans, Louisiana and the company. It's been incredible. I didn't know I touched as many people as I did just by chasing my dreams.' An already emotional Poirier was left in tears by a UFC tribute video. He walked out of the Octagon as Frank Sinatra's My Way played.
