Loose Women's Kaye Adams breaks silence on ‘sleepless nights' amid cuts saying ‘it's been horrific'
ITV announced dramatic changes to their daytime TV schedule last month, axing more than 220 jobs and making cuts to shows including Loose Women and Lorraine.

Speaking on her podcast How to be 60 Kaye said she felt as though 'the rug had been pulled' from underneath her.
Kaye, 62, confessed: 'It did come out of the blue.
"I didn't anticipate it, which is probably stupid in retrospect. You get into a sort of rhythm of life.
"I had a couple of sleepless nights I have to say, because it's just like the rug's been pulled from under your feet – what has been familiar.'
Under the changes, Loose Women will be slashed and will be on air for 30 instead of 52 weeks.
Lorraine Kelly's morning show will also be cut to 30 weeks, and will reduce from an hour to 30 minutes.
Kaye, who is one of Loose Women's main anchors, said: 'It's going to have an impact. Lots of people will lose their jobs completely which is terrible. It's a huge change.
'But I gave myself a talking to and I listened to my own advice for once – change is hard, but it can be good.
'The past is a trap, don't fear the future – I'm telling myself all these things. And maybe this is the nudge that I needed to make some changes in my life and I'll just have to go with it.'
It has been rumoured that the pool of Loose Women panellists will be reduced as part of the cutbacks, which will be introduced from January.
Nadia Sawalha in tears as she breaks silence on chaos at Loose Women offices after 'hundreds' of shock redundancies
So far none of the hosts, including big name stars Ruth Langsford, 65, Denise Welch, 67, Coleen Nolan, 60, and Nadia Sawalha, 60, know if their livelihoods are at stake.
It is not yet known whether younger panellists, such as former Love Island contestant Olivia Attwood, 34, and influencer GK Barry, 25, will be favoured over veteran stars including Janet Street-Porter, 78, and Jane Moore, 63.
Kaye, 62, who joined the Loose Women panel from its first series in 1999, said: 'It's well documented of course. They're having to make cuts and it will affect Loose Women and to be perfectly honest we have no idea at this point what is going to happen.'
The popular presenter revealed that she has been planning to downsize from the family home she shares in Glasgow with her husband, tennis coach Ian Campbell, since their two daughters Charly, 22 and Bonnie, 18, moved out.
She said the Loose Women changes might give her the opportunity to concentrate on the move.
Speaking on the Midweek Catchup episode of How to be 60, out today, she told co-host Karen McKenzie: 'I've been going on and on I'm going to downsize and make changes to my house.
'Maybe it's going to give me a bit of time to focus on that and really spend some time on it.
'Funnily enough, I agreed ages ago to do this programme where they get people like me who are ready to get rid of big bits of furniture and downsize and they take them to an auction house and they sell them off and they film it.
'They asked me to earmark bits of furniture and different things that I was prepared to get rid of and so I agreed at the time, because I thought this is going to give me the impetus to really get going on the down-sizing.'
ITV's daytime TV schedule changes in full
Good Morning Britain will be extended by 30 minutes to run from 6am to 9.30am daily.
Lorraine will run from 9.30am-10am, on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year.
During the weeks Lorraine is not on air, Good Morning Britain will run from 6am to 10am.
This Morning will remain in its 10am-12.30pm slot on weekdays throughout the year.
Loose Women will be in the 12.30-1.30pm slot, again on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year.
The changes will take effect from January 2026.
Kaye joked that she hadn't yet told her husband. 'They're coming with a truck and I haven't told Ian. For the last week I keep going to start the conversation with him – 'by the way, there's a film crew coming and I've told them that they can have that sideboard, that chair, that desk.' I haven't told him yet!
'But if I didn't tell him and he came back tomorrow night, he wouldn't notice. He might if the sofa was gone or the television, but that's about it!'
Kaye set up the How to be 60 podcast three years ago with friend and former BBC colleague Karen McKenzie. The weekly podcast features interviews with big name guests including Alan Cumming, Michelle Collins and Shane Richie, as well as conversations about how the guests view and approach the big 6-0.
The midweek catchup episode features chat and banter between the two co-hosts as well as reflections on their lives.
Kaye, who also presents a daily show on BBC Radio Scotland, added that she was now trying to put a positive spin on the Loose Women cutbacks, rather than worry about them.
She said: 'So, all change. It's good for us. I'm going to embrace it.'
Kaye is the third Loose Women panellist to break cover and speak out about the impact of the cuts.
Last month panellist Nadia Sawalha choked back tears as she said: 'What's been brutal, absolutely brutal, over the last week, honestly, I feel tearful about it, is that hundreds of people... are going to be made redundant out of the blue.
"These are all the people behind the scenes that support us in every way.'
And Sun columnist Jane Moore hit out at the 'snooty reaction' to the announcement of the cuts.

‘I'm not always dressing for the male gaze': Olivia Attwood Dack on how she's made glasses cool again
There was a time when wearing glasses – especially as a woman – was synonymous with awkwardness. A shorthand for geeky, uncool or – most misogynistic – unattractive. But Olivia Attwood Dack has never been one to lean into stereotypes. Advertisement The reality TV star and presenter has long been associated with her bold eyewear choices and it's something she's become proud of. 'I think I am so known for my glasses, like I really bring glasses into my fashion,' she says, 'and I've done so since I was on Love Island. I mean, I was the first person to ever bring their glasses into Love Island.' The reaction, at the time, was unsurprisingly mixed. 'Back in 2017 […] people found that wearing glasses was kind of like geeky or like, not cool,' but Attwood saw it differently. 'I've always been a very pro glasses wearer, a proud glasses wearer.' (Pinpep/Boots Opticians/PA) She's been wearing prescription glasses and lenses since her early teens – but, like many, didn't always feel confident about them. Advertisement 'I think when I was like 13 […] I'd have them in my school bag, and I'd be squinting at the board […] and then the teacher would be like, Olivia, you're squinting, put the glasses on.' But that reluctance faded with age. 'As I got into my later teens […] I didn't love doing contact lenses,' she says, 'I always have really long nails. I do find them like a bit of a faff and I genuinely find glasses a really good way to express fashion.' (Pinpep/Boots Opticians/PA) More than a practical choice, glasses have become part of her identity. 'They can be a statement if you want them to be. I think, for me, they've become a massive place of security,' she says. 'If I'm not feeling my best […] I feel like I can kind of hide behind glasses if I choose a chunkier frame.' And Attwood Dack's collection is extensive. Advertisement 'I think I probably have easily 20 pairs, but maybe more,' she laughs, 'I am an avid collector.' She selects frames the way others choose shoes or jewellery: 'If I was wearing a predominantly black outfit, I might go for a tortoiseshell frame or a gold frame […] or I might use black on an outfit that's already quite busy.' View this post on Instagram A post shared by OLIVIA ATTWOOD DACK (@olivia_attwood) But her go-to pair is a black, chunky frame from Saint Laurent, 'they go with everything and they're robust,' she says. 'Having a large surface area with the lens as well gives you a lot more freedom than a slightly narrow lens.' This is one of the pairs that she has included in her latest project: a style-led collaboration with Boots Opticians that showcases the range of designer frames they have on offer, from Attwood Dack's favourite Saint Laurent to Gucci and All Saints. Advertisement 'I've got quite a small face, so technically, they probably wouldn't recommend a lot of the frames I have,' she says, 'but I enjoy the quirkiness and the aesthetic of an overpowering frame.' Olivia is working in partnership with Boots Opticians to showcase their designer brands (Pinpep/Boots Opticians/PA) Overpowering is a moniker Attwood Dack has long been associated with, following her debut on our screens back in the late 2010s. But what some dubbed 'overpowering', others deemed straightforward and outwardly spoken. Throughout her career, Attwood Dack has borne the brunt of some appallingly sexist remarks – from the way she looks to her personality. But incredibly – and perhaps this is what owes to her long and ever-growing career – she has managed to stay put in her own beliefs and identity. 'I think glasses are a fashion statement now, and I think they can be sexy and they can be feminine as well as cool,' she says, 'I'm not always, you know, dressing for the male gaze.' Advertisement Her priorities – like those of many women – have evolved. 'When you're younger, it's something you're very focused on – does something make me look cool? Does it make me look, you know, attractive?' she reflects, 'and I think now it's like, as long as I feel good when I look in the mirror, I don't care. 'I want the girls to love it, the gays to love it.' View this post on Instagram A post shared by OLIVIA ATTWOOD DACK (@olivia_attwood) Despite her commitment to glasses as part of her style, she still finds resistance in unexpected places – like the glam team. 'The other night, I hosted an event for eBay, and I had to read from autocue and I was like, I need to wear my glasses,' she recalls, 'and [her make-up artists] were like, no, you're hiding our work. But actually I think that's not correct anyway, because that's the beauty of a bigger frame – that you do see all of the eye.' And if the outdated assumption still exists that wearing glasses makes you look more serious or intelligent – 'I'm not against that,' Attwood Dack laughs, 'if it makes me look smarter – there's even better reason to wear them!' It's clear that she thinks glasses are just as good an accessory as a bag or bracelet – even if they don't necessarily suit your face shape. 'Sometimes I like to lean into the fact that the frame is very big – or even too big – on my face,' she laughs. 'There is fun in leaning into a pair that isn't your style.' John Torode makes TV return with wife Lisa Faulkner for first time since MasterChef axe
John, 59, was axed from the BBC broadcast show MasterChef earlier this week after he named himself as "one of the two individuals against whom an allegation has been upheld" during an investigation production company Banijay requested law firm Lewis Silkin undertake – which looked into allegations of misconduct surrounding John's co-host Gregg Wallace. The former MasterChef presenter, who had been working on the show for 20 years before his sacking, denied the upheld allegation. He said in a statement: "I have absolutely no recollection of any of this, and I do not believe that it happened. However, I want to be clear that I've always had the view that any racial language is wholly unacceptable in any environment. I'm shocked and saddened by the allegation as I would never wish to cause anyone any offence." It was later announced that John had been sacked from MasterChef, and he later released another statement to react to the news. However, since the two statements, he has remained silent on the matter – while it's been reported he's set to take legal action against the BBC over his sacking. Now John and his wife Lisa have appeared on TV for the first time since the scandal broke. Opening the show after the credits rolled, Lisa was heard saying: "Hi there, we are so happy to see you in our weekend kitchen." John then added: "We're gonna make your day even happier. How do you like the sound of stunning but simple recipes with just homemade ingredients." The couple have appeared on their shared ITV show, John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen, which has kicked off on ITV1 today at 11.40am. A source close to ITV confirmed to the Mirror earlier this week their schedules 'remain unchanged' despite John's sacking from MasterChef. On the programme, the married couple are making four dishes with five ingredients, which includes a garlic and rosemary focaccia, pink spaghetti, chicken and peanut butter scissor-cut noodles followed by banana doughnuts. In an exclusive interview with the Mirror, Lisa shed light on how the pair balance work and their six year long marriage. She said: "We have so much to do separately, and we film about 10 episodes of our show in nine days, so it's not really that much time together!" The couple, who met on This Morning in the 1990s before Lisa won Celebrity Masterchef in 2010, didn't initially become romantic – until John made self-confessed 'cowardly' move to ask her out. The pair fell in love and married in 2019, and were given their joint cooking show in 2019. John and Lisa continued to put on a united front following the accusations around John's co-host Gregg Wallace's misconduct on MasterChef, which sparked production company Banijay to commission an independent investigation. John and Lisa appeared on their show last week, with John breaking his social media silence for the first time since Gregg's sacking was announced – posting a video to promote his show with wife Lisa as well as a video recipe he had created. Days later, it was announced that the investigation by Lewis Silkin had upheld 45 allegations made against Gregg, while two claims implicating others were also upheld. John Torode later came forward as the subject of the allegation made involving racist remarks. He denied any recollection of the events and said they didn't take place. It was later announced John was fired from MasterChef after working on the programme for 20 years.
