Review – Gotham City Sirens: Unfit for Orbit #1
Ray: It's time for another round of weekly Gotham City Sirens wackiness from our favorite chaos agents, and this time acclaimed artist Haining is joining the team alongside Leah Williams. These stories are always fairly dense and wacky, even more so than Harley's usual antics, and they take the place of the three main books for the month, I believe. But one thing that's impressive about how this mini-event is run is that they take place pretty firmly in continuity, referencing the current events in the main books. So Harley is currently rooming in Throatcutter Hill, Selina is on the run in her undercover identity – and breaks into Harley's apartment to recruit her. They're needed for a raid on an offbeat space-themed nightclub in Gotham where a rare artifact Selina is after is being held. And of course, Harley can't resist contacting her sort-of-girlfriend Ivy to bring the band back together. Breaking and entering. Via DC Comics.
So, on one hand, I do have to say it's genuinely impressive that two queer women in an open relationship are among DC's top characters, although I have to say that the way the whole Harley/Ivy/Janet thing is treated here is…odd. It's played in a very jokey manner, with Ivy straddling Janet while Harley calls her and Harley seeming to be turned on by this. But before long, the core trio is back together and Selina is leading them into the lion's den. What ensues is a breaking-and-entering mission – but one that soon goes haywire as it turns out that it's not just criminals here, it might be something far stranger and from much further away keeping the artifact – which isn't actually an artifact at all. The reveal at the end brings back an iconic Justice League villain who hasn't been around in a long time, and seems to outclass the Sirens in power by a lot. Fun, if chaotic and kind of scattered launch.

Hulk Hogan leaves behind a complicated legacy
The biggest name in professional wrestling history was and probably always will be Hulk Hogan. Article content The man credited with single-handedly propelling pro wrestling into the mainstream has passed away, taking with him a complicated legacy. Article content Article content The wrestling character, Hulk Hogan, represented everything WWE needed in 1980s to overtake the territorial system that Vince McMahon Jr. was bent on disassembling. His bleached blonde hair, handlebar moustache, chiselled physique, red and yellow gear and all-American values captured lightning in a bottle. Article content He preached about saying prayers, eating vitamins and vanquished foreign foes such as Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik and threats at home like Sgt. Slaughter. No one grew to greater fame, no one became more of a household name and no one put pro wrestling in a bigger spotlight than Hulk Hogan. The man himself, Terry Bollea, however, found himself embroiled in various scandals over his life, including the 1990s steroids scandal, a sex tape scandal involving his former best friend and radio personality Bubba The Love Sponge and later racism allegations following the release of a tape on which he was heard spewing racist remarks. Article content While pro wrestlers will often tell you that they became their characters, with different aspects of a character mimicking their 'shoot' lives, as they say in the business, Terry Bollea became Hulk Hogan. Article content There wasn't a time or place where you could encounter the hulking man when you wouldn't find him wearing his signature look, colourful clothing, thick jewelry, signature bandana and handlebar Hogan moustache. Article content Hogan might be the only wrestling figure in history who could claim that he was responsible for the rise of a company and nearly being responsible for its demise. After helping McMahon tear apart the territories and create the global titan now known as WWE, Hogan quite nearly tore it all apart when in the late 1990s, he defected to rival World Championship Wrestling to join Ted Turner's rival company, which very nearly took down WWE in the so-called Monday Night War. During that time, Hogan also successfully — and improbably — turned his world-famous superhero character heel, practically unheard of. Article content His Hollywood Hulk Hogan heel persona would go on to dominate WCW and spawn a whole new generation of fans. It can still be argued that no one who reached Hogan's level of success as a babyface (good guy) ever was able to so successfully swing his persona in the other direction and not lose money and legions of fans in the process. In his prime, he was on the cover of every wrestling magazine nearly monthly, even finding his way onto mainstream covers and into the wildly popular Sylvester Stallone Rocky series.

Video-sharing app Vine is returning ‘in AI form', Musk says

(AP Photo/Matt Rourke) Elon Musk's social media company X is bringing back popular video-sharing platform Vine in 'AI form,' the billionaire tech-entrepreneur said on Thursday, almost nine years after the app was discontinued. Musk made the announcement in a post on X, formerly Twitter, but did not provide further details. X did not immediately respond to a Reuters request seeking more information on the reboot. The Tesla CEO has previously hinted at reviving Vine multiple times since he acquired Twitter in 2022, including posting public polls on X about bringing back the short-form video app that was popular in the 2010s. Twitter introduced Vine in January 2013, allowing users to share small snippets of video that were six seconds or less, with the app quickly gaining popularity among video bloggers and attracting millions of followers.
