The Udupi district administration declared a holiday for educational institutions up to PUC and ITIs in the district on Tuesday (June 17, 2025), in view of the anticipated heavy rains. Deputy Commissioner and District Disaster Management Committee Chairperson K. Vidyakunari said that classes for higher courses, from diploma to degree, would be held as usual. Second PUC Exam 3 would also be conducted as usual, she said.

Wolves makes Jorgen Strand Larsen's move permanent after an impressive loan season
WOLVERHAMPTON, England (AP) — Wolverhampton announced Norway forward Jorgen Strand Larsen has become its permanent player after an impressive season on loan with the Premier League club. The Wolves said on Tuesday Strand Larson who came on loan from from Spanish La Liga side Celta Vigo last year has a deal until 2029 after 'the striker achieved certain clauses in his contract which automatically turned his loan permanent.' Advertisement The 25-year-old scored 14 goals in 35 games for the Wolves in the Premier League last season, becoming the record scorer in his debut season for the club in the top flight, beating Raul Jimenez's 13 goals in the 2018-19 season. 'It's been a good first season in the Premier League,' Strand Larsen said. 'I'm proud of what I've done.' The Altri investment, including a capital increase, will allow building out commercial-scale AeoniQ™ production capacity, reinforcing its strategic vision to diversify into high-value, low-impact cellulosic applications. AeoniQ™, a Swiss-based cleantech spin-off of HeiQ Materials AG, has developed the world's first climate-positive, biodegradable cellulosic filament yarn engineered to replace polyester and nylon. From Breakthrough to Scale: Industrializing AeoniQ™ in Portugal As part of the agreement, the world's first industrial AeoniQ™ plant will be constructed at Altri's Caima pulp mill. Construction is expected to begin in 2026 with an initial capacity of 1.750 tons per year.
