Pictures show aftermath after Glasgow building suddenly collapsed
Actor Tom Urie, who played Big Bob in River City, revealed on social media he was walking past the building, which was previously damaged in a fire 2020, when he started to hear "really weird noises".

(Image: Robert Perry) In a video shared on Facebook he said: "I started hearing really weird noises like crackling noises like it was raining really heavily and I looked up and the building was looking weird so I ran across the street as it collapsed."
He continued: "I got a fright but obviously love getting caught up in the drama.
"I phoned the police of course. Because I've been watching 911 religiously I knew how to be concise and tell them exactly where it was and the postcode, there was no danger and all that.
"So the street is now completely full of fire engines and police and all sorts, so there you go. Mental."
(Image: Robert Perry) A number of residents living nearby the building were evacuated while fire crews work to make the area safe.
There were no reported injuries as a result of the incident.
Pictures taken at the scene today show much of the building, which was already fenced off, has collapsed with only some of the outer walls still standing.

As a result of the collapse Kenmure Street is closed between Maxwell Road and Leslie Street while Albert Drive is closed between Keir Street and Glenapp Street until further assessments can be carried out.
Diversions will be signposted.

An SFRS spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 12.09am on Saturday, July 12 to reports of a collapsed derelict building on Kenmure Street in Glasgow.
"Operations control mobilised eight appliances to the scene.
"A number of nearby residents have been evacuated as firefighters work to make the area safe.
"There are no reported casualties."

Police Scotland are understood to be assisting with road closures.
