For the first time, the Republic of Cyprus will participate with a dedicated national pavilion at Seamless Middle East 2025, scheduled to take place from May 20 to 22, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This landmark participation highlights Cyprus's growing prominence as a global hub for innovation, technology, and digital transformation.
Supported by the Cyprus Trade Centre - Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, the Cyprus Pavilion aims to highlight the country's strategic advantages and promote its growing technology ecosystem.
Located in Hall 6, Stands E20a-f, the pavilion will showcase six pioneering Cypriot technology companies, reflecting the island's strong innovation potential and global perspective:
These companies operate across a diverse range of sectors, offering cutting-edge solutions in fintech, regtech, automation, compliance, cybersecurity, and more.
Cyprus's participation at Seamless Middle East aligns with the broader strategy of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry to promote Cypriot entrepreneurship and support the global expansion of national tech enterprises. It also reinforces ongoing efforts to strengthen commercial and investment ties between Cyprus and the wider GCC region.

, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has unveiled a new government strategy under which artificial intelligence will be used to manage resources. The new policy will enable the UAE to make government services easier and faster, said Sheikh Mohammed. "We're proud to launch the UAE Federal Government Strategic Plan 2031 – a new chapter in shaping a smarter, faster and more efficient government," said Sheikh Mohammed, as reported by Dubai Media Office. "This phase focuses on using AI to streamline processes and improve how we manage resources across the federal government. In the past, success was measured by the strength of regulations, the size of teams and the complexity of procedures. "Today, success means making things easier and faster – delivering seamless services and using resources wisely in a complex world," said Sheikh Mohammed, also Vice President. "Tools may change and goals may shift, but one thing stays the same: our commitment to excellence in serving the people of the UAE." Sheikh Mohammed has directed teams across ministries and strategies based on more innovative and flexible foundations, incorporating AI as part of the 'We the UAE 2031' vision, the media office said. The planning cycle will involve 38 federal groups and brings together key public officials, including directors of strategy, future planning and finance. Last month, Sheikh Mohammed announced a National Artificial Intelligence System would become an advisory member of the UAE Cabinet, starting in January next year. 'The world is going through comprehensive restructuring, scientifically, economically and socially and our goal is being ready today for the coming decades and ensuring continuing prosperity and a decent life for the following generations,' Sheikh Mohammed said at the time.

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a company specialising in autonomous driving technologies, to begin pilot trials of autonomous vehicles in the emirate. The trials are scheduled to begin later this year, with plans to launch a fully driverless commercial service in 2026. Dubai RTA signs MoU with for autonomous vehicle trials recently unveiled the seventh generation of its autonomous vehicles, developed jointly with automotive manufacturers including Toyota, GAC, and BAIC. The company's vehicles feature artificial intelligence algorithms and sensors, including lidars, radars, and cameras, designed to ensure navigation and safety across road and weather conditions. The company has established partnerships with technology firms including Tencent and Alibaba to integrate robotaxi mobility services into platforms such as WeChat and Alipay. Mattar Al Tayer said the partnership would support Dubai's efforts to adopt autonomous mobility solutions and reinforce its leadership in future mobility. He expressed appreciation for the company's decision to choose Dubai as its platform for expanding operations beyond China. 'RTA's continued expansion of partnerships with leading global companies in the field of autonomous mobility marks a key step towards achieving the Dubai Smart Self-Driving Transport Strategy, which aims to convert 25 per cent of all trips in Dubai into autonomous journeys across various modes of transport by 2030. It underscores RTA's commitment to working closely with global technology leaders to advance the future of smart, efficient, and sustainable mobility,' Al Tayer said. Al Tayer said the operation of autonomous taxis would contribute to the integration of transport systems by facilitating the movement of public transport users and improving access to their destinations in line with the first and last-mile strategy. 'Operating autonomous taxis will enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors in Dubai, improve road safety, and offer greater convenience in daily mobility across the emirate,' he added. 'Autonomous mobility has become a present reality. Leading global companies are accelerating the development of technologies and software that power autonomous vehicles, while governments—through the relevant licensing and regulatory authorities—are working to provide the necessary infrastructure and establish the legislative and regulatory frameworks required to enable their operation,' Al Tayer explained. CFO Dr. Leo Wang also highlighted the regional significance of the partnership. 'The collaboration with Dubai RTA exemplifies our commitment to deploying Level 4 autonomous technology in strategic global markets. By aligning our technological capabilities with RTA's visionary leadership, we're establishing foundational standards for intelligent transportation ecosystems across the MENA region,' he concluded.
