Georgia transfer CB named to first-team All-Big Ten

USA Todaya day ago
Penn State Nittany Lions cornerback A.J. Harris has been named to Pro Football Focus' All-Big Ten team. Harris is a first-team selection and has drawn significant media recognition ahead of the 2025 college football season.
Harris is a former five-star recruit and is coming off a strong sophomore season where he helped the Nittany Lions advance to the College Football Playoff semifinals. As a sophomore, Harris recorded 48 tackles, one interception and five pass deflections.
Harris had a much larger role with Penn State than he did with Georgia (eight tackles) back in 2023. The rising junior projected as a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound cornerback will be a key contributor on a loaded Penn State team. The Nittany Lions are expected to be among the top national championship contenders this year. Penn State returns a veteran team led by quarterback Drew Allar and running backs Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton.
Losing Harris via the transfer portal was a major loss for Georgia. However, Georgia at least has a first-team All-SEC cornerback in Daylen Everette. Harris (2023) along with quarterback Carson Beck (2024) and outside linebacker Damon Wilson (2024) are some of Georgia's most painful transfer exits in recent memory.

There's been a lot of talk surrounding Wisconsin's brutal 2025 football schedule. Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt is the latest to join that discussion. On the latest episode of his podcast, The Joel Klatt Show, while discussing teams he's selling entering 2025, Klatt made a bold claim about Wisconsin's season. "You look at that schedule, and I don't know if they win three games," Klatt said. Wisconsin was on the analyst's 'sell' list primarily due to the difficulty of its schedule. Klatt emphasized that it's very possible that the Badgers fall below 2024's mark of five wins despite being more talented and better equipped for success on both sides of the football. "I actually think that Wisconsin could be a better team, roster-wise, this year than they were last year," Klatt said. "But here's the problem. I don't know if that shows up in the win-loss column this year. This is one of the most difficult schedules in the still have to be better than the teams that they play. They could be underdogs in nine of their 12 games this year. Think about that." Klatt's prediction of Wisconsin being a team to sell is a fair analysis. However, winning only three games seems like a rather easy goal for this team. The Badgers begin the season by playing both Miami (OH) and Middle Tennessee in the non-conference slate. While they visit Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the following week, the program begins Big Ten play with a home game against Maryland. Wisconsin should have three wins through that initial stretch of four games. After that, however, there are indeed no free games left on the Badgers' schedule. The majority of their remaining games come against teams that will be ranked in the AP Poll, including some set for College Football Playoff contention. Bookmark Klatt's prediction. Only time will tell where Wisconsin finishes once the games kick off in four weeks. Notre Dame AD Pete Bevacqua gives his thoughts on the USC rivalry and the CFP format

Notre Dame athletic director Pete Bevacqua spoke with members of the media today, and gave his thoughts on the USC rivalry continuing along with changes to how the College Football Playoff will select teams. While the CFP is important, keeping the annual game with the Trojans was at the top of his mind. Bevacqua said that 'we want to play USC every year. I think it would be a horrible thing if we don't. I think it would be bad for us … college football. And USC knows that,' as reported by Pete Sampson. It's a familiar tone that has been presented by many in South Bend including Marcus Freeman, they want this game to keep happening every season. The Irish AD wasn't shy about exploring other options to keep the rivalry alive, as Bevacqua also said that they'd be willing to move the date around and even play the game at a neutral site. It very much looks like Notre Dame will do whatever it takes to continue the series. As for the CFP, he likes it as is, with each power conference champion gaining an automatic bid with 11 at-large teams if expansion makes it to 16-teams. The Big Ten and SEC are trying to flex their muscle to make it easier for their conference teams to make it in, which doesn't make much sense. Bevacqua wants teams to 'earn it on the field,' which makes complete sense. Overall, it looks like he knows exactly what he wants for the future of Notre Dame football and the sport in general, and it was great to see him reiterate those points as the season preparation begins on Thursday for the Irish.
