Review: Bla Bla Bar Abu Dhabi on Yas Marina

During a day out in the capital, we booked ourselves a table at one of Abu Dhabi's freshest new foodie arrivals: Bla Bla Bar. Set along the buzzing Yas Marina, the chic new venue first popped up during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2025, and now, it's here to stay. Service was warm and upbeat, setting the tone for what turned out to be a standout dining experience. The interiors are vintage yet bold (with plenty of red to match the mood), paired with a modern, playful edge. Through the windows, we spotted the W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island and a stretch of the Yas Marina Circuit prompting us to make mental notes to return during race week. We kicked off the evening with a Gold Fashion (Dhs60) – a sparkling spin to an Old Fashioned, complete with a dramatic gold spray added at the table. It was a clever touch of theatre that left flecks of gold floating in the air throughout the evening. Bla Bla Bar Abu Dhabi We dined as a mixed group of picky eaters and a full-on foodie, and to Bla Bla's credit, every dish was a hit. We began with the beef tartare (Dhs54), which leaned into Asian flavours with a spicy chilli kick. Unexpectedly, the cold spinach goma (Dhs26) was a surprising standout – creamy and crunchy, and in no way bitter. So good, we kept going back for more. The lamb chop (Dhs68) was a Korean-inspired showstopper. The grilled-to-perfection meat arrived in a fiery orange glaze, and paired with the Korean-style sauce, it was a balance of sweet and heat. But the seafood star of the night: The black cod (Dhs68) – a dish made popular by Nobu and notoriously hard to get right. But Bla Bla nails it. We're told the fish is marinated over two days, the first in milk, the second in honey and then grilled and served with an unagi sauce drizze. The result: buttery, melt-in-your-mouth fish with perfectly balanced flavours that even the fussiest diners couldn't resist. Other seafood dishes to try include the octopus (Dhs78) with yuzu kosho mayonnaise, which brings heat and an acidic flavour punch, and the sweet and tangy king crab (Dhs78). Don't miss the wagyu beef terrine (Dhs38) – skewered layers of juicy, fatty wagyu grilled and paired with a zingy sauce that melts in your mouth. And if chicken is more your thing, the chicken thigh (Dhs24) served with aji verde, a spicy Peruvian green sauce, is a solid choice. Despite running late, we couldn't skip dessert. The dulce de leche ravioli was too intriguing to resist. Sugary little parcels are delivered to the table, filled with caramel-like goodness, and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was cool, rich, and well worth the sprint to the car. WHAT'S ON Verdict: For a bar, the food really delivers. With creativity, flavour, and flair in every dish, Bla Bla Bar is a must-try. We are at the halfway mark of the Formula 1 season, which means we are drawing closer to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December. And if there's one thing that should be on your F1 dream list, it should be House 44 – a luxury paddock club by Sir Lewis Hamilton and Soho House. House 44, named after Lewis Hamilton's racing number, will only appear at key races during the upcoming F1 season, and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is part of the elite list. Getty Images If you want to be a part of Hamilton's guest list, you can book your spots at for (an eye-watering) Dhs57,849.75 for a three-day access pass. The special hospitality suite hosted its first pop-up at Silverstone during the Formula 1 Qatar Airways British Grand Prix from July 4 to 6, where VIPs and celebrities, including Tom Holland and Aaron Taylor-Johnson were spotted. An Instagram post shared by Soho House showed an exclusive race-viewing experience with cool track views and hospitality offerings. Lewis Hamilton himself also made an appearance, most likely to welcome the lucky guests to the first of six pop-ups. Here's what you will experience at House 44 when it arrives in Abu Dhabi Lewis Hamilton x Soho House is coming to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2025 House 44 takes inspiration from Hamilton's iconic racing number – a number the seven-time World Champion has been racing with since his early karting days. The design and all its elements were created by the Soho House team with plenty of input from Hamilton himself. It draws from his personal aesthetics as well as his 10-year connection to the Soho House. Lewis Hamilton x Soho House is coming to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2025 Besides rubbing shoulders with celebrities and other VIPs, you will also get to explore curated photographs, items from both new and archived. Plus 44 collections, and racing memorabilia. And similar to his visit to the Silverstone pop-up, you may just catch a glimpse of him here in Abu Dhabi as well. The suite will also host exclusive DJ lineups guaranteed to keep the energy levels high. Sir Lewis Hamilton On the food menu, there's a fusion of global and local food crafted from market-fresh ingredients. As for the beverage offerings, expect a special cocktail made with Hamilton's non-alcoholic blue agave spirit Almave, and other signature house cocktails. No need to worry, guests can expect prime views of the starting grid and finish line, making it one of the best vantage points to watch the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix winner cross the line. Add in a front-row seat to all the heart-racing pit stop action and it's a full-throttle experience. And who knows, could someone beat Ferrari's record-breaking 2.0-second stop at Monaco? Time will tell. Expect unobstructed views of the fireworks, the winner's podium, and those iconic, golden-orange sunset moments that make race day in Abu Dhabi all the more unforgettable. Your ultimate guide to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2025 What else is included in the House 44 Paddock Club pass? Other cool inclusions include a behind-the-scenes guided tour of the F1 Paddock, priority access to the podium celebrations, and a photo safari where attendees will gain access to off-limit sections – but this is all subject to availability. House 44 will also be making pit stops at the Heineken Dutch Grand Prix 2025, Pirelli Gran Premio D'italia 2025 in Monza, Gran Premio De La Ciudad De México 2025 and Heineken Las Vegas Grand Prix 2025 before ending with a grand hooray at Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2025. Red Bull Racing Unveils Slawn-Designed F1 Car

Red Bull's Formula One team, Racing Bulls, has partnered with Nigerian-British artist Olaolu Slawn and fashion brand HUGO to reimagine its car and racewear. The collaboration comes just in time for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The project includes a redesigned VCARB 02 car, new driver suits, and updated team uniforms. Each item features Slawn's graffiti-style artwork, known for its expressive and quirky characters. Graffiti Meets Grand Prix For the race weekend, drivers Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar will compete in two uniquely painted cars. While the classic Red Bull branding remains, Slawn has added black caricatures and bold scribbles across the white bodywork. The redesign brings a fresh, artistic energy to the paddock. This creative update marks the latest chapter in Slawn's growing influence in fashion and design. His previous work with Trapstar showcased a similar aesthetic, which now takes on a new life in motorsport. HUGO Crafts Bold New Apparel To complement the car's look, HUGO has produced a full apparel line for the team. The race suits and staff kits feature a white, red, and blue color scheme. Slawn's signature figures appear on the chest and torso of the garments. Fans won't be left out. A replica team kit is now available on Red Bull's online store, giving supporters a chance to wear the same styles seen on the grid. This collaboration not only elevates Racing Bulls' visual identity, but it also reinforces Formula One's growing ties with streetwear and creative culture.
