WOW: Orlando Pirates superstar is moving Saudi Arabia

Orlando Pirates have several valuable assets on their playing roster. One of them is moving to Saudi Arabia following a massive bid.
Mohau Nkota will be playing his football in Saudi Arabia next season.
Pirates have promptly secured 23-year-old Oswin Appollis to soften the blow.
Pirates selling superstar trio?
As per impeccable local sources, Mohau Nkota is leaving Orlando Pirates. The 20-year-old has made the right-sided attacking role his own, shining on both the local and African stages.
At 20 years old, Rele Mofokeng is the jewel in the Pirates crown. There's talk that the Sea Robbers will listen to offers of R32 million for the winger. Make no mistake, Rele Mofokeng is a brilliant player, potentially the South African with the highest ceiling. What message does this send to European clubs wanting to smuggle South African talent if Mofokeng signs for a team in Spain, Italy, France or Germany and then gets sold for roughly five times that number?

At the Midrand Chess Club, a fresh wave of young talent is revitalising the sport, with 14-year-old Arham Khalife leading the charge. As an exceptional player continuously honing his skills, Arham has been earning accolades and establishing a reputation on the national stage. Each of these victories has fuelled his passion and confidence. Recently, Arham competed in the South African Open, held at the University of Johannesburg during the June-July school holidays, which featured some of the country's top young chess players. The tournament consisted of five intense rounds that tested participants' strategic thinking, resilience, and psychological strength. Arham's performance was outstanding. 11 South Africans fight it out among themselves in the Open

Almost any bet you can think of on the links at Royal Portrush. South African golfing fans are avid followers of their countrymen who play around the world – even more so in majors, such as the Open Championship that tees off at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland early on Thursday morning. That patriotic interest can be sharpened with a small flutter. There are 11 South Africans in the 2025 Open field, including former Open champion Louis Oosthuizen, recent PGA Tour winner Aldrich Potgieter, SA Open hero Dylan Naidoo and 17-year-old amateur champ Bryan Newman. Ever-popular Oosthuizen is favourite to be the top South African finisher – at R4.50. He is a R6.50 chance to be the South African leader after the first round – and a R120.00 shout to win the tournament overall. Joint favourite (R4.50) to beat his compatriots is PGA Tour regular Christiaan Bezuidenhout, who is known for his consistency. Thriston Lawrence, who finished fourth, three shots behind winner Xander Schauffele, in the 2024 Open at Royal Troon – showing an affinity for links play – is a R5.45 chance to finish top South African. Naidoo's SA Open victory at Durban Country Club earlier this year caught the nation's imagination but he has so far struggled to make an impression overseas. He is at R36.00 to beat all his countrymen, while Newman is at R55.00. Betway is offering more than 100 different betting opportunities on the Open, including peculiarities such as the top left-hander; the likelihood of a hole-in-one over the four days; the top LIV finisher; one- and two-round match-ups in between two, three and five players; the top debutant and world No 1 Scottie Scheffler (and others) to make the cut ('Yes' R1.05, 'No' R7.90). These Betway odds are correct at time of publishing and subject to change.

Kaizer Chiefs' Midfield Madness: Four leave, three leaving, new number 10?

Kaizer Chiefs' midfield overhaul is well underway. Kaizer Chiefs have parted ways with Sabelo Radebe, Njabulo Blom (defender and defensive midfielder), Mduduzi Mdantsane and Yusuf Maart. Meanwhile, THREE more Amakhosi midfielders are heading out of Naturena. Amakhosi have released four midfielders so far – Radebe, Blom. Mdantsane and Maart. Meanwhile, Edson Castillo, Tebogo Potsane and George Matlou all face likely exits. However, it's not all doom and gloom in the Chiefs midfield. Amakhosi recently signed Ethan Chislett and they have identified some big-name transfer targets. Interestingly, Chislett's preferred jersey number is the number 10. '[I am a] versatile midfielder, can sit deep, play further forward and wide right, even striker a few times, although more in a 'false 9' role. I like to cut in from the left onto my right foot, but if I had to define my best position, it would be a 'number 10',' he told the media. Chiefs are linked with these Bafana Bafana targets in the midfield. Chiefs want to sign another attacker or two. Specifically, an attacking midfielder and possibly another striker. 'As much as the team is believed to be looking at releasing strikers, they are still looking at signing at least one more attacking midfielder. They are talking about a winger or another number 10. I think that could be last signing for this window,' the insider stated on SNL . Meaning, Chiefs are in the market for another attacking player or more attacking players.
