Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao bats for simplification of building construction rules
Minister in charge of Dakshina Kannada, Dinesh Gundu Rao, stated on Wednesday that people are facing difficulties in obtaining permission for building constructions, including those for houses, due to stringent rules. He added that he would take up the matter with Urban Development Minister B. S. Suresh and urge him to simplify the rules.
Speaking at a programme organised at the Sullia Urban Development Authority building, the Minister said that the public and elected representatives have brought to his notice that the construction of buildings and houses is getting delayed due to issues related to the registration of sites/land, obtaining khata, approving building plans, and single-site approval.
Mr. Rao said that he will discuss the matter with the Urban Development Minister and urge him to modify the department's rules to enable applicants to obtain permissions in a hassle-free manner.
The Minister stated that issues, including the disputes related to revenue and forest land, are causing delays in urban development authorities approving site permissions. Both the revenue and forest departments should conduct joint inspections and surveys to address problems faced by the authorities, he added.
Mr. Rao stated that files relating to the grant of land under Section 94(C) of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964, should not be delayed for 'unnecessary' reasons.
Earlier, Mr. Rao inaugurated the new sub-divisional engineering office building of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department at Sullia, as well as the Block Public Health Laboratory and mortuary at Sullia Taluk Hospital. He also inaugurated the new office building of the Range Forest Officer, Department of Social Forestry, in Sullia, as well as the new office building of the Sullia Urban Development Authority.

BJP leaders meet Munneru displaced persons
Khammam: 'Takingland and undertaking work without paying compensation is a betrayal of the Constitution. This is a clear example of the government's bestiality,' said Bharatiya Janata Party District President Nelluri Koteswara Rao. On Saturday, he met the displaced people of Munneru in Division 29 and 30 of Khammam city during which he received petitions given by the victims. The victims appealed to the district presidents that they had not received full compensation for the damage they had lost last year due to the Munneru floods. In addition, the victims complained that they had not been fully compensated for the hundreds of acres of land they were losing due to the construction of the retaining wall on both sides of Munneru. The BJP leaders warned that they would hold agitations for the victims if necessary. Rao made it clear that they would demand justice for the displaced people as per the 2013 Land Acquisition Act. He assured that they would talk to government officials and ensure that justice is done to the victims. Later, BJP leaders inspected the land acquisition area next to the gas godown at Maisamma Temple.

BRS extends support to ‘Chalo Secretariat' protest march planned by unemployed youth
HYDERABAD The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has extended support to the 'Chalo Secretariat' protest march being planned by the unemployed youth and students of the Osmania University to press for the fulfilment of promises made to the two sections by the Congress government. Representatives of the unemployed youngsters met BRS leader T. Harish Rao here on Saturday and requested for the party's support to their protest march, stating that the CPI(M) had already extended support. Responding to their plea, Mr. Rao assured that his party would support the fight inside and outside the Assembly. He explained to the youth that it was the previous BRS government that had got the Presidential Order modified to ensure 95% jobs to locals and their government had also filled 1.62 lakh jobs during the nine-year period. However, the Revanth Reddy government is carrying out a misinformation campaign stating that BRS had not filled any jobs, he alleged. He pointed out that the Congress government had issued full-page newspaper advertisements to fill 2 lakh jobs in the first year of its coming to power, but during the last 20 months, the jobs filled had not crossed 12,000. Mr. Rao said the BRS government had, on an average, filled 16,000 jobs a year, while the successor government had not filled even half. The BRS leader sought to know why AICC leader Priyanka Gandhi, who had issued a Youth Declaration before the Assembly elections, is silent on the issue. Leaders like M.
