Marilyn Manson's Brighton concert cancelled following campaign
On Saturday, fans who go online to contact Ticketmaster receive a message saying: 'This event has been cancelled.
'Ticket sales have stopped, but there may be tickets available for other dates.'
In January, prosecutors in the US said they would not file charges against Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, after long-running investigation into allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said the allegations were too old under the law and the evidence is not sufficient to charge the 56-year-old shock rocker.
LA County sheriff's detectives had said early in 2021 that they were investigating Manson over alleged incidents between 2009 and 2011 in West Hollywood, where Manson lived at the time.
Earlier this month in an open letter to the Brighton and Hove city council leader Bella Sankey, Sian Berry, the Green MP for Brighton Pavilion, called for the October concert to be cancelled.
In the letter, which was co-signed by some victim support groups and the University of Sussex students' union, she wrote: 'Many survivors in Brighton and Hove, and organisations supporting them, will have serious concerns about this booking and its wider impact on other people visiting the city centre, local residents and the wider community.'
The letter, which was posted online, prompted a flood of responses from the public pointing out that Manson had not been found guilty of allegations against him and that a four-year investigation did not lead to charges.
Others branded the call to cancel the gig as censorship.

Instead, support act James Haskell performed a two-hour DJ set to keep fans entertained. In a statement posted on social media at the time, Chester 7s wrote: "Due to unforeseen circumstances Professor Green is unable to perform at Chester 7s tonight. "Whilst circumstances such as these are outside of our control, we apologise to all our amazing players, officials and guests and thank you for making Chester 7s 2025 an amazing experience for everyone." However, now Professor Green has bravely revealed why he was forced to pull out of the gig at the last minute. Taking to his Instagram Stories, he posted a heartfelt message which read: "My sincerest apologises to @chester7s organisers and fans alike. "Thank you @jameshaskell for him playing longer than planned. "I'm reaching out to work out how I can make up for my no-show Saturday. Whatever it takes. "This doesn't rest with booker or organisers - I crumbled after three performances and two back to back 21hr days doing all the driving etc myself. "My head became a very difficult place to be. However, she has now devastated fans after scrapping the dates for her gigs – but emphasised it was because she felt it was not up to her standards. Ava wrote to her 3.3million followers on Instagram overnight: 'Pushing back my tour is [the] most difficult decision I've had to make, but when I perform for you, it has to be of a standard that I'm happy with, and it's just not there yet.' Twicket, a verified reselling site, has spaces left for fans keen to get a glimpse of the Gallagher brothers live. When we checked there were tickets on sale, with one flogging their seat for the band's July 5 concert in Cardiff for £150. Meanwhile, there are two tickets left for Liam and Noel's Wembley gig on July 30 for £240 each. However, the tickets sell very fast - so you need to be poised to snap them up. Ticketmaster also has a small number of tickets available to buy on its website, with tickets still available for the pair's Heaton Park, Manchester show for £148 each. There is also one 'in demand' standing ticket left for the Oasis gig in Manchester on July 11 for £381. Both sites allow you to set up alerts so that you can be notified when tickets are added - but you may have to refresh the app and move quickly to snap them up. Ticketmaster threatened with legal action When the gig was announced last summer, fans were stuck in Ticketmaster queues for up to 12 hours, unaware of what price they would pay at checkout. The firm was accused of labelling seats at Platinum and selling them for £350 instead of £150. This was despite being in the same area of the stadium as equivalent tickets with no extra benefits. Ticketmaster has since been threatened with legal action from the consumer watchdog over claims fans may have been misled over the pricing of tickets. Ticketmaster made some changes to its ticket sale process but the CMA said it 'does not currently consider these changes are sufficient'. The watchdog said it had been trying to work with them to change their pricing and ticket information. However, the CMA said this week it wasn't happy and it is seeking legal action. It said: 'Having carefully considered Ticketmaster's response, the CMA's view is that there is a fundamental disagreement between the CMA and Ticketmaster about whether Ticketmaster's practices infringed consumer law. Hayley Fletcher, interim senior director of consumer protection at the CMA, added: 'All ticketing websites should check they are complying with the law and treating their customers fairly. 'When businesses get it right, consumers benefit – and that's the best outcome for everyone.' Ruthless criminals also fleeced fans out of more than £2million by making false advertisements for tickets.
