Marilyn Manson's Brighton concert cancelled following campaign
On Saturday, fans who go online to contact Ticketmaster receive a message saying: 'This event has been cancelled.
'Ticket sales have stopped, but there may be tickets available for other dates.'
In January, prosecutors in the US said they would not file charges against Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, after long-running investigation into allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said the allegations were too old under the law and the evidence is not sufficient to charge the 56-year-old shock rocker.
LA County sheriff's detectives had said early in 2021 that they were investigating Manson over alleged incidents between 2009 and 2011 in West Hollywood, where Manson lived at the time.
Earlier this month in an open letter to the Brighton and Hove city council leader Bella Sankey, Sian Berry, the Green MP for Brighton Pavilion, called for the October concert to be cancelled.
In the letter, which was co-signed by some victim support groups and the University of Sussex students' union, she wrote: 'Many survivors in Brighton and Hove, and organisations supporting them, will have serious concerns about this booking and its wider impact on other people visiting the city centre, local residents and the wider community.'
The letter, which was posted online, prompted a flood of responses from the public pointing out that Manson had not been found guilty of allegations against him and that a four-year investigation did not lead to charges.
Others branded the call to cancel the gig as censorship.

Instead, support act James Haskell performed a two-hour DJ set to keep fans entertained. In a statement posted on social media at the time, Chester 7s wrote: "Due to unforeseen circumstances Professor Green is unable to perform at Chester 7s tonight. "Whilst circumstances such as these are outside of our control, we apologise to all our amazing players, officials and guests and thank you for making Chester 7s 2025 an amazing experience for everyone." However, now Professor Green has bravely revealed why he was forced to pull out of the gig at the last minute. Taking to his Instagram Stories, he posted a heartfelt message which read: "My sincerest apologises to @chester7s organisers and fans alike. "Thank you @jameshaskell for him playing longer than planned. "I'm reaching out to work out how I can make up for my no-show Saturday. Whatever it takes. "This doesn't rest with booker or organisers - I crumbled after three performances and two back to back 21hr days doing all the driving etc myself. "My head became a very difficult place to be. Professor Green teams up with Carmoola for new single "I made it to Chester but not to the stage - I hope I get the chance to make this up to you, if you'll let me. PG x" Over the years the rapper has been very honest about his mental health and the importance of not overlooking it. Speaking to the BBC last year, Pro Green said: "If you have a physical injury it's your brain that gets you through it - you need mental strength. "I don't know why there is a division between physical and mental health, it should just be health - they are intrinsically linked." Continuing to open up, the star said: "You don't realise as a kid things like attachment and abandonment can really affect you - way into your adult life. "I had behaviours that were directly linked to things that I experienced as a kid, and I think that's true of all of us."

Pop star's fans devastated as she cancels tour just 2 weeks after announcement
Pop star Ava Max has cancelled her upcoming tour just two weeks after shows were announced. The Sweet but Psycho hitmaker recently announced that she would be bringing her Don't Click Play tour to the UK, North America and Europe in support of her forthcoming album of the same name, slated for release on August 22. However, she has now devastated fans after scrapping the dates for her gigs – but emphasised it was because she felt it was not up to her standards. Ava wrote to her 3.3million followers on Instagram overnight: 'Pushing back my tour is [the] most difficult decision I've had to make, but when I perform for you, it has to be of a standard that I'm happy with, and it's just not there yet.' 'Being on stage is my favourite thing in the world. In order to put on a show that you all deserve, I need more time,' the 31-year-old singer continued. 'I promise you all it will be worth the wait. I love you all and can't wait to see you. SOON, I PROMISE.' 'Why is the tour cancelled???? I'm really disappointed!!!!!' fan Jakub commented on a recent post ahead of Ava's story, while @kimmyangel88 responded: 'That's such a shame. Was really looking forward to seeing her.' Fan Saul Arvizu wrote: 'Would be cool if you had a post or reel about the tour cancellation. Like, we get a cancellation but don't let us hear it from Ticketmaster. Your fans bought your tickets. And letting us find out this way is not cool.' Posters promoting the tour and its dates have been wiped from Ava's account while Ticketmaster's website now shows the dates as being cancelled. 'You need more time for a better performance ? I'm sorry but this is a bit [of] a strange excuse!!' chimed in Urs Kumli. 'So saddened by the news :(💔 I was gonna spend my 25th birthday with you in Belgium,' replied Bryan Moertabat. The So Am I singer has released songs Wet, Hot American Dream, Lovin' Myself and Lost Your Faith from her upcoming album. More Trending The star, who also had a hit with single Kings & Queens, previously explained that she often feels 'more comfortable' being on the road touring but always has to make some time for herself before taking to the stage. Ava told The Kelly Clarkson Show: 'I did all kinds of shows in the US and it was so cool just doing night after night. It is weird. In the pandemic, I was stuck at home and I was like, 'How am I going to connect?' She added: 'I always have Ava time carved out on my schedule right before I perform. So everyone is putting my wires on, my mic pack and everything and then I have 15 minutes to myself where I meditate and close my eyes so I can remember my name and what I'm singing. 'I really thrive through the chaos, I love it, so I'm actually more comfortable on tour [than at home] lately – but I still need my Ava time carved in.' Got a story? Cheapest way to get last minute Oasis tickets at face value as tour kicks off today
Plus, we reveal the top tips on how to avoid ticker scammers THE MASTERPLAN Cheapest way to get last minute Oasis tickets at face value as tour kicks off today Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) OASIS fans can still get tickets for their highly anticipated comeback tour at face value, but they will have to be quick. The "Definitely Maybe" duo will kick off their world tour tonight in Cardiff. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 Oasis Live 2025 tour was announced last summer And while it may be one of the hottest gigs of the summer, fans can still make a last minute grab for tickets. Twicket, a verified reselling site, has spaces left for fans keen to get a glimpse of the Gallagher brothers live. When we checked there were tickets on sale, with one flogging their seat for the band's July 5 concert in Cardiff for £150. Meanwhile, there are two tickets left for Liam and Noel's Wembley gig on July 30 for £240 each. However, the tickets sell very fast - so you need to be poised to snap them up. Ticketmaster also has a small number of tickets available to buy on its website, with tickets still available for the pair's Heaton Park, Manchester show for £148 each. There is also one 'in demand' standing ticket left for the Oasis gig in Manchester on July 11 for £381. Both sites allow you to set up alerts so that you can be notified when tickets are added - but you may have to refresh the app and move quickly to snap them up. Ticketmaster threatened with legal action When the gig was announced last summer, fans were stuck in Ticketmaster queues for up to 12 hours, unaware of what price they would pay at checkout. The firm was accused of labelling seats at Platinum and selling them for £350 instead of £150. This was despite being in the same area of the stadium as equivalent tickets with no extra benefits. Ticketmaster has since been threatened with legal action from the consumer watchdog over claims fans may have been misled over the pricing of tickets. Liam Gallagher reveals new details about Oasis tour – before quickly deleting post Crack down on unfair pricing The firm had been accused of using dynamic or surge pricing, but no evidence of this was found. Ticketmaster made some changes to its ticket sale process but the CMA said it 'does not currently consider these changes are sufficient'. The watchdog said it had been trying to work with them to change their pricing and ticket information. However, the CMA said this week it wasn't happy and it is seeking legal action. It said: 'Having carefully considered Ticketmaster's response, the CMA's view is that there is a fundamental disagreement between the CMA and Ticketmaster about whether Ticketmaster's practices infringed consumer law. Hayley Fletcher, interim senior director of consumer protection at the CMA, added: 'All ticketing websites should check they are complying with the law and treating their customers fairly. 'When businesses get it right, consumers benefit – and that's the best outcome for everyone.' Ruthless criminals also fleeced fans out of more than £2million by making false advertisements for tickets.
