The Wanted singer Max had a pacemaker fitted in December
In an exclusive interview with The Sun on Sunday, the actress said the pair, who met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2020, want to travel the world before they finally walk down the aisle.
Maisie, 23, said: 'I'm still a baby!
'We have so much time — we have got the whole world, a whole life.
'Now Max is getting better and stronger and fitter. And we are ready to start an exciting next chapter of our time together.'
Asked if Max's operation has put life into perspective, Maisie said: 'It really has, and I think we both want to be more impulsive, have fun, travel the world, see new things and make friends.
'It is all the things you put off because of work or stress, and we are just like, 'Do you know what? Anything could happen at any moment — let's just enjoy our life and time together'. So that is what we are doing.'
Max, 36, was fitted with a pacemaker in December last year after his mum Babs realised he had 'turned blue' and pushed for him to go to A&E.
Fearing he would die in hospital just days before Christmas, Max wrote out a will on his iPhone.
Weeks later, he secretly went under the knife again after the device's wires were fitted too deeply, causing Max to experience 'flickering sensations'.
I was so certain I'd die, says Max George, I made heart breaking decision in hospital after heart op.
He told The Sun on Sunday: 'I was trying to get back to good health, but was still having a flickering sensation for weeks after I had my pacemaker fitted and it was gradually getting worse and worse.'
Max was told the procedure could cause a dangerous bleed on his heart, revealing: 'The night before, I was really nervous.
'I didn't sleep much.'
The singer was forced to postpone The Wanted 2.0's Manchester Cathedral concert alongside bandmate Siva Kaneswaran in February due to his health setback.
But in March, Max returned to the stage to play tortured priest Parson Nathaniel in a musical version of HG Wells' classic book, The War Of The Worlds.
And Maisie was also by his side at the Connexin Live venue in Hull as she portrayed his wife, Beth.
Asked about Max's current health at the Tric Awards in London, last month, Maisie said: 'He's good.
'He's getting stronger every day.
'We weren't even sure if he was going to be able to do The War Of The Worlds, but he's just been so strong and he's been training every day, getting his body fit and strong and ready — he's good.'
Of their summer plans, Maisie added: 'We're going to go to France — it's exactly what we need.
'Just us two, I can't wait.'
'Ticks all the boxes'
Maisie and Max became good friends while competing on BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing in 2020.
Two years later their friendship blossomed into romance and Maisie relocated from her home town in Essex to move in with Max in Manchester.
However, their 13-year age gap caused the couple to face a backlash on social media.
Speaking to Fabulous magazine in 2023, Maisie said: 'If it wasn't that, it would be something else.
'People don't understand what goes on behind closed doors in a relationship, and I think they also forget that I'm a consenting 21-year-old woman who's actually been working longer than Max.
'I don't notice the age difference and neither do my friends or family.
'My mum Julia is the one who reads through all the comments.
'I got a message from her yesterday saying, 'Just ignore them, you two were made for each other'.'

Speaking alongside Maisie at the Tric Awards, Julia said of Max: 'He's absolutely gorgeous.
'He's charming, he's lovely, he's generous.
'He ticks all the boxes.'
But Julia, who is also mum to daughter Scarlett, 28, said Maisie should concentrate on enjoying her life before saying, 'I do'.
Asked if she could see the pair getting married soon, she said: 'Too young.
'It is not so much on the radar now with this generation.'
Julia, who shares her daughters with husband Stephen Smith, said: 'I was married at 25, but I just don't feel like they need to go and conquer the world instead.'
Yet despite finding love on the dancefloor, Maisie said Max has hung up his ballroom shoes after finishing in ninth place on the series.
Maisie, who was a fan favourite on the series and took the runner-up spot, said: 'Max doesn't dance.
'I have made him do some TikTok dances, but he doesn't enjoy them.'
I loved singing and being in The War Of The Worlds with him. It was so nice to get to train together, perform together.

However the actress, who released her first single, Good Thing, in 2016, said she loved singing alongside Max in The War Of The Worlds.
Max shot to fame with The Wanted after they formed in 2009, and went on to have a string of hits and two UK No1 tracks with All Time Low and Glad You Came.
Speaking about making music together, Maisie said: 'Do you know what?
'We actually joke about it all the time.
'But I'd never . . . he's in his band and he has his solo music.
'But if I were to do it, I'd probably be a solo artist.'
She continued: 'I loved singing and being in The War Of The Worlds with him.
'It was so nice to get to train together, perform together.
'It's like, you never get to do it with your partner.'
Maisie presented the award for Best Soap Actor to EastEnders actor Steve McFadden — best known for playing Phil Mitchell — at the Tric Awards.
But despite her confidence on screen, Maisie said she does not intend to pursue a career as a TV or radio presenter.

She admitted: 'I'll be honest with you.
'No. I can't — I get so nervous, I'm still young.
'But give me a script and I will knock it out the park!'
It was in 2006 when five-year-old Maisie landed her first role as a young Elizabeth I in the movie The Other Boleyn Girl, which also starred Natalie Portman.
Within two years, she had won the part of Tiffany Dean (later Butcher), daughter of Bianca (Patsy Palmer) and Ricky (Sid Owen), in EastEnders.
After leaving in 2014 to focus on a pop career, Maisie returned as a regular for four years until 2022.
But she said that the soap will always hold a special place in her heart after catapulting her to fame.
On a return to Albert Square, she said: 'It is just one of those places that you would never say no to.
'I am never going to say I am not going to go back, but right now I am doing a lot of stage work and roles that I am really enjoying.
'But EastEnders is like home – it is the kind of place that is always going to be there.'

Ex-Corrie star Georgia May Foote hints at divorce after two years of marriage as she wipes all traces of husband Kris from her social media
Ex-Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote has hinted she is no longer with husband Kris Evans after removing all traces of him from social media. The actress - who also competed in Strictly Come Dancing in 2015 - married Kris in an intimate ceremony back in 2023. However it looks like their relationship could be over, with the couple reportedly 'heading for a divorce'. 'Georgia's marriage to Kris seems to be over,' a source told The Sun. They added: 'It's on the rocks.' It's claimed Georgia, 34, is 'looking to the future' amid their marital woes. Georgia has reportedly removed her wedding ring and wiped all traces of the musician from her Instagram - including glossy snaps from their wedding day. MailOnline has contacted a representative for Georgia rep for comment. The soap star looked nothing short of sensational in a beaded fishtail gown as the couple said 'I do' in a lavish log cabin-style venue back in 2023. At the time, Georgia shared a sweet message ahead of her wedding. She said: 'I am about to marry my best friend. The person who makes me a better person. Didn't think I would find someone who would love me for me but I did it,' Georgia penned as she gushed over her partner. 'Thanks to all my people who showed up for me this weekend. I had a ball, and I'm forever grateful to you all for loving me for me too. Here is to the last month of being a Foote.' In 2021 Georgia announced Kris had popped the question in a stunning Instagram snap showing the couple of three years posing on a beach in Gran Canaria while she held her hand aloft to show off her ring. Alongside the snap, she added a caption reading: '30/12/2021. Mrs Evans to be. Of course I am still crying. '@krisevansmusic I love you beyond words and I am honoured you have chosen me' and tagged her location as 'Cloud Nine'. Georgia went on to share a shot on her Instagram stories showing her stunning ring, which featured a band jam-packed with diamonds. On his own Instagram, Kris revealed the couple were on holiday in Gran Canaria by sharing a smouldering poolside shot and wishing his fans 'Merry Krismas'. The stunner, who played Katy Armstrong on Corrie, previously dated her Strictly Come Dancing partner Giovanni Pernice and George Alsford.

Wayne Rooney 'lands £800,000 Match of the Day deal' after Gary Lineker's exit
Match of the Day is said to be welcoming a very famous face to its presenting roster following Gary Lineker's exit. Wayne Rooney has reportedly signed a big-money deal with the BBC in a bid to start a new chapter away from football management. It's said the former England player, 39, has secured £800,000 for the gig, which will see him appear on MOTD for two years with the possibility of an extension. What's more, Rooney should be involved in the show's 2026 World Cup coverage, jetting to the US, Canada, and Mexico to bring viewers the highlights. A source told The Sun about the rumoured punditry deal: 'Wayne is a natural broadcaster; he is warm, witty, and forensically knowledgeable about all aspects of the game. 'He still has a deep love for football and also gets on well with everyone on both sides of the camera.' They added: 'He is eminently likeable and has impressed on his outings to date—viewers have also really taken to him, which has been clear from social media commentary. 'Wayne will be a key part of next year's World Cup coverage, which is a massive coup, and will provide some much-needed expertise on Match of the Day in the wake of Gary's departure.' It's believed that 'everyone', including the Beeb's Director of Sport, Alex Kay-Jelski, is 'incredibly excited to get him on board', with the insider declaring it a 'great signing'. Rooney's new MOTD role will reportedly be unveiled officially later this month. Whispers actually began at the start of the year, with the same publication claiming Rooney was in talks for a MOTD slot as early as January. At the time, he was freshly sacked from his fourth management job, having secured just one win with Plymouth Argyle in 14 games. It was later reported that Rooney was looking to venture further into punditry, and it was said the role could've earned him up to £200,000 a year, depending on how many appearances he were to make. But now, that figure looks to have increased drastically. Having already proven he can talk the talk in various guest appearances previously, Rooney's next role is likely a natural progression. It also takes him and wife Coleen one step closer to a total TV takeover, given how she reportedly signed a £10million deal with Disney in March to star in a documentary with Wayne and their four sons: Kai, 15, Klay, 11, Kit, eight, and Cass, six. Rooney is widely considered one of Britain's greatest-ever footballers. Not only was he Manchester United's best goalscorer with 253 goals, but he was also England's record goalscorer from 2015 to 2023. He retired from professional footie in 2021 after being appointed permanent manager of Derby, and now frequently dabbles in punditry. By joining MOTD this year, he is part of a huge shake-up at the long-running programme, which was hosted by Lineker, 64, for 26 years. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video The broadcaster fronted his final show on May 26, visibly tearful as he reflected on his career and thanked those with whom he had worked. Lineker confirmed he would be leaving the BBC completely after catching backlash for sharing an Instagram Story about Zionism. More Trending His since-deleted post featured a rat emoji, which has been historically used as an antisemitic trope. The host later issued an unreserved apology for the 'hurt and upset caused' by the video, stating it was a 'genuine mistake' and that he was unaware of the meaning behind it. In his place, Gabby Logan, Kelly Cates, and Mark Chapman will share the presenting role on Match of the Day from the next Premier League season. View More » Meanwhile, Leicester-born Lineker is already making new moves in his career, having moved his hugely popular The Rest is Football podcast, which he hosts with Alan Shearer and Micah Richards, to DAZN.
