CDAA takes foolproof measures to boost safety of Dhofar tourists
Dhofar governorate is witnessing a growing influx of visitors from within and outside the Sultanate of Oman, given its unique natural attractions.
The CDAA has strengthened its field presence by deploying specialised teams at a number of tourist and natural sites, such as wadis, beaches, mountainous areas, and waterfalls. This aims to ensure a rapid response to any emergency, and provide rescue and ambulance services, ensuring everyone's safety and enhancing the sense of security and reassurance among visitors and residents.
Additionally, the Authority also continues its awareness-raising efforts through its advisory and awareness programmes targeting visitors and the local community.
These campaigns aim to educate them about the potential risks at natural sites, emphasise the importance of adhering to public safety guidelines, and avoid dangerous behaviours that could put lives at risk.
These efforts are part of the Authority's commitment to instilling a culture of prevention and enhancing the readiness of its specialised teams.
These teams work together to perform their duties in accordance with the highest safety and rapid response standards. These teams include civil protection members, which inspect and ensure that tourist facilities and establishments comply with safety and risk prevention requirements.
The ambulance teams provide emergency medical care at accident sites and ensure the rapid transfer of injured persons to healthcare facilities while water rescue personnel secure beaches and marine sites and respond immediately to drowning incidents; and mountain rescue teams conduct search and rescue operations in mountainous areas and difficult terrain to ensure rapid access to trapped and injured persons.
The entire group operates according to well-prepared plans for protecting lives and property, in line with the Authority's goals to provide its services with utmost professionalism.
The Authority expects visitors to follow safety procedures, and avoid approaching dangerous areas, such as valleys during weather fluctuations, and refrain from crossing wadis or camping in unsafe areas, to ensure their own safety and that of their families.
It also emphasises the need to cooperate with field teams and follow instructions issued by the relevant authorities, ensuring everyone has a safe and stable time during the Dhofar Khareef season 2025.
