About Sawan Somwar
The month of Shravan, also known as Sawan, is regarded as spiritually fulfilling by followers of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is worshipped throughout the full month of Shravan, and it is thought that he is on Earth now. It is stated that as a result, devotees' prayers are answered faster.
Traditionally, Monday is connected to the worship of Lord Shiva. Consequently, Mondays during this time, called Sawan Somwar, have a unique religious meaning.
Devotees observe fasts, present the Shivling with water, milk, bel leaves, and dhatura flowers, and sing hymns like the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, Rudrashtak, and the Shiv Chalisa on these days.
"Many devotees observe sixteen Mondays or Solah Somwar fasting from the first Somwar of Sawan month," according to Drik Panchang's website. Goddess Parvati, Lord Shiva's spouse, is honored on all Tuesdays, or Mangalwar, during Shravan. Mangala Gauri Vrat is the name for fasting on Tuesdays during Shravan month.

Rituals of Sawan Somwar
1. Early Morning Rituals: Have a holy bath first thing in the morning.
Put on fresh clothing, ideally yellow or white.
2. Going to a Temple or Home Shrine: Pray to Lord Shiva at a temple or a shrine in your house.
3. Abhishekam: Use water, milk, yogurt, honey, and ghee to perform Abhishekam, a ceremonial bath of the Shiva Lingam.
Offerings like flowers, fruits, incense, and Bilva (Bael) leaves are also made.
4. Chanting and Mantras: Say the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra and "Om Namah Shivaya" as Shiva mantras.
5. Aarti and Conclusion: Wave a lamp before the god while singing devotional melodies as you wrap up the puja.
6. Fasting: During Sawan Somwar, many devotees maintain a fast, abstaining from all food and liquids (maybe except water).
Usually, the fast is kept from dawn to dusk.
The rites can still be performed by those who are unable to fast.

Muharram procession: Detailed arrangements have been made for traffic, says police
New Delhi [India], July 5 (ANI): Ahead of the upcoming Muharram procession, the Delhi Police has made detailed traffic arrangements across the national capital to ensure smooth vehicular movement and public safety, a senior officer said. Muharram will be observed in the capital on June 6, he said. Speaking to ANI, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dinesh Kumar Gupta said, ' As Muharram is on June 6 in Delhi, we have set up detailed arrangements for traffic. It will be our job to provide diversions to the traffic, and the public should feel minimal inconvenience. When the procession is underway, we will provide some diversion for it. Detailed arrangements have been issued, and we will remain in the fields to closely monitor the Muharram procession...' Regarding the Kanwar Yatra, a major annual religious event that draws lakhs of devotees, Gupta said preparations are well underway. 'We have made preparations for this from 12 July to 22 July. We have identified all the routes of the Kanwar Yatra and have tried to barricade the route so the Kanwar yatris do not come on the main route,' he said.
