The members of the 4th generation K-pop boy band ATEEZ renewed their contract with their agency, KQ Entertainment for another 7 years. The information was shared by the label on July 10, as reported by K-media outlet Yonhap News. Their group's leader Hoongjoong had hinted at the development last month, and now it is officially confirmed.

After 7 years of creative collaboration with KQ Entertainment, the ATEEZ members have bestowed their trust in the agency once again. Seonghwa, Hongjoong, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung and Jongho have renewed their contracts with the agency for the first time, for another 7-year term. The decision was based on mutual trust between the lable and the artists.
KQ Entertainment stated, "We are happy to continue our relationship based on the trust we have built over the past 7 years." The company promised to provide comprehensive support to help each of the eight members to showcase their distinct talents and reach a wider audience. "We will not spare our full support so that each member can fully demonstrate their limitless potential and advance to a bigger and wider stage," they mentioned.
ATEEZ's latest projects and achievements
ATEEZ's latest musical offering is their 12th mini album Golden Hour: Part. 3, which was released on June 13, 2025. It is the third installment of ATEEZ's Golden Hour series, delving into the complexities of youth, including emotional vulnerability, the desire for freedom, and the bittersweet moments of growing up.
Its lead track Lemon Drop is a refreshing R&B hip-hop song, offering a blend of ATEEZ's signature powerful sound with addictive choreography and vibrant visuals. The track received great traction worldwide, fetching them their Billboard Hot 100 debut at No. 69. The music video exceeded 24 million views within just 10 days of its release.
The rest of the tracks of the EP includes– Masterpiece, Now this house ain't a home, Castle, and Bridge : The Edge of Reality. Their previous notable achievements include topping Billboard's main album chart and Billboard 200, with their second full-length album in 2023 and with their 11th mini-album in 2024, respectively.

Justin Bieber To BLACKPINK: Artists Who Released New Music This Week

Even Tyla and Deftones released their new projects after a brief hiatus this week. This week brought a wave of pleasant surprises for music lovers. Some artists made long-awaited comebacks, while emerging stars proved they're here to stay with bold new releases. From Canadian pop icon Justin Bieber and global K-pop sensation BLACKPINK to South African rising star Tyla, artists across genres delivered the fresh music fans had been eagerly anticipating. Here's a look at all the major highlights in the world of music this week. Following a four-year hiatus, Justin Bieber returned with a new album titled Swag. He releases his seventh studio album on July 11, after announcing it just hours ago. His new record consists of 21 tracks and features collaborations with multiple artists, including Gunna, Dijon, Lil B, Cash Cobain, Sexyy Red and Eddie Benjamin, among others. This time, Justin deviated from his usual big pop hits and opted for softer, emotional tones. Clipse The American hip-hop duo, brothers No Malice and Pusha T, made their comeback after 15 years. They released their fourth studio album, Let God Sort Em Out, on July 11. In the first two songs, they rap about personal loss and throw sharp lyrics at their foes. The album features guest artists like John Legend, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Stove God Cooks, Tyler, and others. BLACKPINK The digital single JUMP marked the return of the K-pop queens following a break of nearly three years. The fast beats and powerful energy of the song have resonated with the fans, and it is indeed unlike anything they have worked on before. BLACKPINK debuted their new single in the South Korean leg of their Deadline World Tour before releasing it officially with a music video. Deftones After a five-year break, Deftones released their new single My Mind Is a Mountain. They last dropped their studio album Ohms in 2020. The latest track is the pre-release single for their tenth album, Private Music, which is scheduled to be released in August. GIVEON The R&B singer GIVEON released his second studio album, Beloved, after his first, titled Give or Take, in 2022. This came after he secured a position in the Billboard Hot 100 chart with Are You Even Real, a collab with Teddy Swims, and his own solo Twenties. His new album takes inspiration from old-school soul music of the 1970s. The rising pop star, Tyla, made a return to the music scene this week with a new single Is It. Keeping up with her signature style, the new song is cool and perfect for dancing. First Published: July 12, 2025, 09:16 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. TWICE's Tzuyu says BTS paved the way - BLINKs aren't taking it well on social media

The phrase "BTS paved the way" has become a talking point within K-pop fandoms. Although many artists - including TWICE, Stray Kids, GOT7's Jackson Wang, PSY, and others - have openly credited BTS for helping globalize K-pop, the statement often sparks backlash when repeated. The latest instance came when TWICE's Tzuyu acknowledged BTS' role in expanding K-pop's global reach. While ARMY and ONCE - the fandoms of BTS and TWICE - have been celebrating the recent interactions between the two groups, BLACKPINK fans appear less enthusiastic. Many took to social media to express frustration, interpreting the praise as sidelining BLACKPINK's own contributions to K-pop's worldwide popularity. What did Tzuyu say about BTS? In an interview with Forbes, Tzuyu didn't hesitate to credit BTS for their impact on K-pop's global rise. "There are so many K-pop artists who worked so hard so that K-pop can take the centre stage. Many artists worked hard to contribute, and BTS played a big role in that," she said, applauding the group's significance in shaping K-pop as a worldwide phenomenon. TWICE's Tzuyu mentions BTS for their role in expanding K-pop globally:"There are so many kpop artists who worked so hard so that kpop can take the center stage. Many artists worked hard to contribute, and BTS played a big role in that." While many felt this moment was wholesome - especially ARMY, who believe the BIG 3 labels mostly bar their artists from mentioning BTS - it was huge to see a big artist like TWICE openly show respect to BTS. However, BLACKPINK fans were unhappy with the statement made by Tzuyu. What are BLINKs saying? Many BLINKs, especially on X (formerly known as Twitter), spoke about how TWICE had just released a song, THIS IS FOR - a track hyping up women - and felt they should not have praised men for globalising K-pop. Some others wondered why BLACKPINK was not mentioned, as according to BLINKs, BTS and BLACKPINK achieved global success around the same time. BTS made a major breakthrough in 2017 when DNA first charted at #85 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking a significant milestone for the group. Their global presence was further amplified with a high-energy performance of the song at the American Music Awards later that year - a moment many U.S. ARMYs cite as their introduction to BTS. Soon after, Fake Love made history as the first K-pop song since PSY's Gangnam Style to break into the chart's Top 10. BLACKPINK followed with a landmark achievement of their own in 2018. Their hit Ddu-Du Ddu-Du marked their debut on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #55 - the highest position ever reached by a K-pop girl group at the time. Hence, BLINKs on X who were unhappy with the statement wrote posts like: "When a woman empowers men but fails to recognize other women, it's not strength, it's a missed opportunity." When a woman empowers men but fails to recognize other women, it's not strength, it's a missed opportunity. Another said, "Giving credit to men for the success of your girl group in an industry dominated by men is the most pick-me and crybaby thing you can do. No wonder their empowerment concepts felt performative - they were always a group created for the male gaze." darle crédito a hombres sobre el exito de tu grupo femenino en una industria que fue dominada por hombres es lo más pickme y llorapija q se puede ser 💀 con razón sus conceptos de empoderamiento se sentían performativos, siempre fueron un grupo creado para el male gaze One wrote, "Me when my music and master's degree go nowhere so I resort to name-dropping just to bait their fanbase." Me when my music and master's degree go nowhere so I resort to name-dropping just to bait their fanbase 😭 Another added, "Releasing a women empowerment song just to credit the bunch of men for the growth of a whole industry… STAND UP." releasing a women empowerment song just to credit the bunch of men for the growth of a whole industry…..STAND UP One even wrote, "Just released a song about feminism & women empowerment yet preaching some men, we never making out of misogyny damn." Just released a song about feminism & women empowerment yet preaching some men, we never making out of misogyny damn ARMY and ONCE reunite While the two fandoms were enjoying the comments made, they also clapped back at BLINKs: One ARMY said, "I genuinely have so much respect for these girls because they've never been bitter about BTS and they've always acknowledged their hard work and what they've done for the K-pop industry." i genuinely have so much respect for these girls because they've never been bitter about bts and they've always acknowledged their hard work and what they've done for the kpop industry Another said, "The qrts is why we don't take BLINKs seriously when they preach about feminism. Like, the only reason you can think of when a woman gives credit to BTS is that she wants clout?" the qrts is why we don't take blinks seriously when they preach about feminism, like the only reason you can think of when a woman gives credit to bts is that she wants clout? One added, "If BLINKs dislike TWICE so much, why do you need their validation so much? They're flops, right? So why does it matter to y'all?" If blinks dislike twice so much why do you need their validation so much? They're flops right so why does it matter to yall 😭 Another taunted, "She's from TWICE mentioning BTS, but a certain fandom that has nothing to do with both groups is pissed. They love to make everything about their group." She's from twice mentioning BTS but a certain fandom that has nothing to do with both groups is pissed 💀They love to make everything about their group More about BTS and TWICE What started as a simple dance challenge turned into a full-blown third-gen crossover event. TWICE's Momo and Nayeon lit up social media with their collab with BTS J-Hope for his Sweet Dreams dance challenge, sending fans into a frenzy. But that was only the beginning. J-Hope soon appeared on Sana's Fridge Interview, effortlessly charming viewers, before taking on the Killin' It Girl challenge. The surprise didn't end there - the BTS rapper was later spotted meeting Nayeon and Jihyo at BLACKPINK's DEADLINE concert in South Korea, a moment that felt straight out of a K-pop cinematic universe.
