PM Modi Virtually Inaugurates 3 Amrit Bharat Railway Stations In West Bengal
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday virtually inaugurated three redeveloped railway stations in West Bengal under the Centre's Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, officials said.
The three stations -- Panagarh, Kalyani Ghoshpara and Joychandi Pahar -- are among the 103 Amrit Bharat railway stations inaugurated by the PM across the country through video conferencing from Bikaner in Rajasthan, they said.

Panagarh and Kalyani Ghoshpara are under the jurisdiction of the Eastern Railway, while Joychandi Pahar is part of the South Eastern Railway. Both these zonal railways are headquartered in Kolkata.
These existing railway stations have undergone a total revamp with new passenger facilities and aesthetics, the officials said.
A total of 100 railway stations in West Bengal have been taken up for redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, they added.

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Assam on Sept 8 to inaugurate the birth centenary celebrations of music maestro and Bharat Ratna awardee Bhupen Hazarika. Prior to that, he will inaugurate a Rs 4,200 crore bio-ethanol plant in Golaghat and the Guwahati Ring Road project in Mangaldai, which has a project cost exceeding Rs 5,700 crore. He said the Prime Minister will first arrive at Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) in Golaghat district and dedicate the bio-ethanol plant to the nation. Developed as a joint venture between NRL and Finnish partners, the facility is India's first bamboo-based bio-ethanol refinery. It is designed to process up to 3,00,000 metric tonnes of bamboo annually to produce 49,000 metric tonnes of ethanol. Following a successful trial run in Dec 2024, the plant is expected to begin commercial production by mid-2025. The project is expected to benefit around 30,000 rural households and marks a significant milestone in India's green energy and biofuel sector. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the construction of the much-anticipated Guwahati Ring Road in Mangaldai, the CM added. The project includes building a major bypass, widening key stretches of NH-27, and constructing a bridge over the Brahmaputra river to connect Narengi in Guwahati with Kuruwa in Darrang district. The 121-km project, aimed at decongesting city traffic and improving connectivity across Assam, was awarded to Infracon Pvt Ltd by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in April. The concession period is 30 years, including four years for construction, with completion expected by Dec 2027. Later in the day, the PM will arrive in Guwahati to inaugurate the birth centenary celebrations of legendary musician Bhupen Hazarika, the CM said. "The state govt has made meticulous plans to celebrate the occasion in a befitting manner. A total of 1,000 singers — from senior artists to the youngest performers — will present a musical medley of a few of Bhupen Hazarika's most famous songs. Several programmes have also been planned as part of the yearlong celebration," the CM added. To honour Hazarika's legacy, the state govt will also release a special biography and a commemorative coin.

Modi In Varanasi: From PM-KISAN To Infra, Prime Minister To Unveil Development Projects Worth Rs 2,200 Cr In Uttar Pradesh
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi tomorrow where he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects worth around Rs 2,200 crore at around 11 AM. He will also address the gathering on the occasion. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already reached the city to review the preparations and will be with the Prime Minister during the day. During the event, Prime Minister modi will release the 20th instalment of PM-KISAN. An amount of more than Rs 20,500 crore will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of over 9.7 crore farmers across the country. With this release, the total disbursement under the scheme since its inception will surpass Rs 3.90 lakh crore. The projects cater to multiple sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, tourism, urban development and cultural heritage aim at achieving holistic urban transformation, cultural rejuvenation, improved connectivity, and enhanced quality of life in Varanasi. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several key infrastructure projects. He will inaugurate the widening and strengthening of the Varanasi - Bhadohi road and Chhitauni- Shool Tankeshwar road; and Railway Overbridge at Hardattpur, to ease congestion on the Mohan Sarai - Adalpura Road. He will lay the foundation stone for comprehensive road widening and strengthening across multiple rural and urban corridors, including Dalmandi, Lahartara-Kotwa, Gangapur, Babatpur among others and Railway Overbridges at Level Crossing 22C and Khalispur Yard. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of various works under the Smart Distribution Project and undergrounding of electrical infrastructure worth over Rs 880 crore.
