Leonora hive of activity once again as Golden Gift takes over Goldfields town
The two-day carnival for all age ranges peaked on Sunday afternoon with the men's and women's elite mile races, with Olympian Peter Bol the headline runner in the men's event.
The total prize pool this year was $65,000.
Other running events on the town's main street on Sunday included 120m, 600m and mile events for all ages.
Saturday saw the popular work boot sprint, as well as children's activities, a fireworks display and performances from bands — this year Coterie and Renegade were the featured acts.
A bowls tournament took place during the weekend, and the Leonora Art Prize was opened.
The Golden Gift usually takes place in conjunction with the annual Goldfields Cyclassic, however this event was cancelled this year.

Two years ago, Lori Cramer caught herself wondering how she was going to keep up with the Wallaroos' influx of rugby sevens talent. "For me, that's my experience - comms and a bit of my leadership as well." Cramer will provide backline cover in her 30th Test, coming off the bench at Ballymore. "You have to put your ego aside; you want to send your best fighters to the fight," she said. "It's not about me, it's about the Wallaroos. So if I'm the best person for the job on the day, then let's go." The influx hasn't reached the heights it threatened to when nine sevens stars were pencilled in for Super Rugby Women's opening round. Tia Hinds will wear the No.10 on Saturday while sevens great Charlotte Caslick (ankle) is hoping to be fit for Australia's second Cup game in late August. Fellow Olympian Bienne Terita (hamstring) was in calculations but won't be fit for the England showpiece while Levi sisters Madison and Teagan withdrew their interest. Wins against Fiji and USA have been offset by losses to heavyweights Canada and New Zealand this season. Confident progress has been made, Australia - boasting a 7-1 head-to-head against Wales - can prove it in their final two opportunities on home soil. Cramer rates Welsh flyhalf Lleucu George the "best boot in women's rugby ... an absolute freak" and expects a thorough examination. "We're hitting our straps when we need to be and the games against Wales can always get a bit fiery," Cramer said. "Everyone's building for something bigger, but we want to win these Test matches as well." Emily Chancellor will captain Australia with regular skipper Siokapesi Palu (foot) injured, while Ashley Marsters will become the first Wallaroo to play 40 Tests.

Wendy Williams' birthday wish is to be released from her court-ordered guardianship and return to work. The broadcaster and former talk show host was placed under a legal guardianship in 2022 following a series of health setbacks, including a reported alcohol relapse. She now resides at the Coterie, a retirement and wellness residence in Manhattan's Hudson Yards. Now, after turning 61 on 18 July, she has told Page Six her current living situation is like a 'luxury prison' and confirmed she is actively working with her legal team in an effort to reclaim her independence. Despite celebrating her 61st birthday with family and friends at several New York restaurants this month, she added she remains focused on regaining her freedom. She said when asked what her birthday wish would be for the coming year: 'It's obvious: to get out of my guardianship, and go back to work in the most magnificent way.' Wendy also told Page Six her guardianship prevents her from making major life decisions, including where she lives and how she communicates. According to Wendy, she is not allowed to have a mobile phone and relies instead on a landline that cannot receive incoming calls. Wendy added she has been having 'some very confident conversations' with her legal team, including attorney Joe Tacopina. She also said about her living situation: 'I like privacy… but this is too private!' Wendy revealed she spent her birthday last year alone in a Connecticut facility, describing the experience as isolating but in some ways preferable. She said: 'For my last birthday, I was in Connecticut with nothing but grass and trees. 'Nobody came to visit me in Connecticut. That was actually a good thing, because it was so bad I didn't want people to see me there.' This year's celebrations were held at Delmonico's, Fresco by Scotto, and Le Marais. Among the guests were Wendy's niece Alex Finnie, Alex's partner Eric Houston and friends including Alvina Alston, Mel Maxi and Tobi Rubinstein. Her former daytime talk show, The Wendy Williams Show, ran for over a decade before ending in 2021.

A pair of Kembla-based two-year-old fillies, both on debut, can steal the show when they travel south to tackle the older horses at Monday's Moruya meeting. Spice Baby, an exciting daughter of 2018 Golden Gift winner Tassort in the Joseph Isle stable and drawn the inside, is likely to jump favourite in a Maiden Handicap over 1020m. But drawn just two places further out, the Kerry Parker yard unveils Miss Steffi, a well-bred and aptly named daughter of Group 2-winning Graff. Spice Baby has been strong through the line in two lead-up trials and draws to get a cosy run, while Miss Steffi also starts behind two recent trials, winning the first at home before given a quieter time at Rosehill only six days ago. Named after the tennis great, Miss Steffi is bred to get much further being out of a Carnegie mare, and will be aimed at some feature middle-distance affairs in early spring if she heads in the right direction. Spice Baby, out of a mare by 2005 Golden Slipper winner Stratum and to be ridden by Louise Day, is more the sprinting type and opened about $3.70 in early betting alongside Canberra-based Caravanserai, an ex-Godolphin three-year-old having his first run in six months for the new Natalie Jarvis stable.
