"Injustice, So Much Panic...": Internet Furious On Gautam Gambhir As IPL Superstar Dropped After Just 1 Test
Fans on the internet criticised the move made by the Gautam Gambhir -led team management to drop Sai Sudharsan.
"Batting at No. 3 is the toughest, and after Pujara, India still hasn't found a permanent No. 3 batsman. But now there's Sai Sudharsan, he's young and looks like a player who can serve India for a long time. Just because he failed in one match, you're going to drop him?" commented one fan on X.
"I feel it would be too harsh on him (Sai Sudharsan). Hasn't done anything wrong in the first Test. Benching a player immediately after his debut can break the morale of a player. Hope he at least gets good clarity," said another fan.
"It's such a shame that talented Sai Sudharsan will be dropped after one match and Karun Nair, who can serve max 2 years to India, will be backed. Why we can't invest in youngster? Sai is the future not Karun Nair. Another bad move by Gautam Gambhir and team management," said a third.
"What mistake did Sai Sudharsan make?" questioned another fan.
"This is injustice to Sai Sudharsan. No clarity on Karun Nair's role as well. Why is there so much panic?" asked another.
You should be slapped if you drop a player after one bad game.
This is injustice to Sai Sudharsan.
No clarity on Karun Nair role as well.
Why so much panic after playing the first test well for the first 4 days!!

Reading a few reports about Sai Sudharsan being benched for the 2nd Test. I feel it would be too harsh on him. Hasn't done anything wrong in the first Test. Benching a player immediately after his debut can break the morale of a player. Hope he at least gets good clarity.

Sai Sudharsan and Karun Nair both made ducks in the first innings of the first Test. However, Sai Sudharsan hit a crisp 30 in the second, while Karun Nair made 20.
However, Karun has been persisted with and will take Sai Sudharsan's spot at No. 3 for the second Test.

Wimbledon 2025: Novak Djokovic breaks record; Iga Swiatek, Mirra Andreeva progress
Novak Djokovic in action at Wimbledon 2025 (Image via AP/Alastair Grant) Novak Djokovic once again drew all the cameras as he stormed into the third round of Wimbledon for a record 19th time with a commanding 6-3, 6-2, 6-0 win over Dan Evans. The victory marked his 99th match win at Wimbledon, which is another Open Era milestone for the Serbian, taking him past Roger Federer for most third-round appearances by a man at SW19. Djokovic, still recovering from knee surgery just weeks ago, admitted he doesn't stop to reflect often. 'I would like to,' he said, 'but I think that's going to come probably when I set the racket aside and then sip margarita on the beach with Federer and Nadal.' 'That's probably almost as much as Sinner and Alcaraz have years in their lives,' joked the 38-year-old Djokovic in a nod to the rising generation. While Djokovic continues to add chapters to his legacy, his rivals Jannik Sinner (23) and Carlos Alcaraz (22) are now front and centre of tennis's next great rivalry. It wasn't all smooth sailing against Evans, as Djokovic missed his first nine break points before unlocking the match with a 5-3 lead. From there, he was nearly flawless, winning five of his next six break points and not facing a single one until the final game. 'You have these kinds of days where everything goes your way,' he said. 'Everything flows,' said the veteran, as quoted by AP. Elsewhere, Mirra Andreeva and 2022 champion Elena Rybakina booked their places in the third round in straight sets. No. 10 Emma Navarro also advanced, while in the men's draw, Alex de Minaur and Grigor Dimitrov moved on. Poll Which player are you most excited to watch in the next matches? Carlos Alcaraz Aryna Sabalenka Jannik Sinner Sinner was due to play later Thursday on Centre Court, while Iga Swiatek pulled off a thrilling win over American Caty McNally 5-7, 6-2, 6-1. With the result, the Pole became only the third player to reach 22 third round appearances, joining the ranks of Serena Williams and Amelie Mauresmo. Looking ahead, Friday will see Alcaraz take on Jan-Lennard Struff, and Aryna Sabalenka face off with Emma Raducanu in a marquee centre Court clash. SuperUnited Rapid 2025: D Gukesh stuns World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen, takes 2-point lead ahead of final day
D Gukesh stuns World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen (Image credit: NEW DELHI: Defending world champion D. Gukesh stunned World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen in the sixth round of the Grand Chess Tour SuperUnited Rapid 2025 in Zagreb, Croatia, on Thursday, seizing sole lead in the tournament with 10 points. Gukesh, who had shared the lead after Day 1, continued his dominant run by defeating Uzbekistan's Nodirbek Abdusattorov and American grandmaster Fabiano Caruana in the fourth and fifth rounds, setting the stage for a high-stakes clash with Carlsen. Ahead of their much-anticipated encounter, Carlsen had downplayed the challenge, remarking that he would treat the game "as if I'm playing one of the presumably weaker players." But Gukesh proved otherwise, outplaying the Norwegian in the rapid format and making a strong statement of intent. This was the first of three scheduled meetings between the two chess heavyweights in the tournament — the remaining games will be played in the blitz format. Tracing Moeen Ali's steps in Birmingham "It's nice that I could win two games in a row from losing positions — and against Magnus," Gukesh said after the win. With five wins in a row, Gukesh takes a two-point lead into tomorrow's final day of rapid chess! "A very important day! Now we can question Magnus' domination. It's not just the second loss — it's a very convincing loss!" Garry Kasparov said after Gukesh beat Carlsen.
