Driving through a rural area on the outskirts of Larnaka, the resident stumbled across a mind-blowing scene in the middle of a farmer's field.
Their video shows a cop car parked up in full view after ploughing through the crops - clearly in a hurry.
The front passenger door is open and one party is bending over the seat.
The other appears to be going at it hammer-and-tongs behind her.
Vehicles stream past on another road just a stone's throw away, also with a clear view of the car.
The local force confirmed it was probing a video of 'a man and woman".
Two officers have been identified in relation to the clip and temporarily dismissed from their posts until the inquiry is wrapped up.
The investigation was said to be focused on ascertaining whether the vehicle belonged to the force.
One member of the local police said: 'We are not ruling anything out.
'There is a possibility that this is a fake video, footage that has been deliberately manipulated and we are investigating that too.

By Wednesday, however, the clip had been confirmed as legitimate.
Well-placed officials vowed the embarrassing incident would not be allowed to sully 'the good name' of the force.
One source told The Sun: 'If this video is for real it is deeply offensive but we will not let it get in the way of our good name and good work."
Social media users had a field day after the video went viral late Tuesday.
Commenters said it had 'humiliated' a police force put already under stress from the escalating conflict in the nearby Middle East.
Amid the mockery, police spokesperson Kyriaki Lambrianidou called for sensitivity, as children and families are involved.
The person who filmed could have handed the video over to police rather than post it online for public consumption, she told local media.
Cypriot police responded to a more serious case this week after a British tourist plunged ten metres from a hotel balcony.
The 24-year-old tourist was left fighting for his life when he fell from the platform in the party town Ayia Napa.
The lad was rushed to the Famagusta hospital in Paralimni, but then urgently transferred to Nicosia general hospital - the largest on the island.

Deputies are still searching for a California woman and her 8-month-old daughter who went missing after they left a doctor's appointment more than two weeks ago. Whisper Owen, 36, and her baby daughter, Sandra McCarty, were last seen on July 15, according to the Fresno County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office said investigators still have no clues as to where the mother and daughter went or what lead to their disappearance. The duo's loved ones are trying to make sense of the frightening developments. 'It just makes it really hard for me as her mother to shut my brain off and not constantly imagine what could've happened to her,' Owen's mother, Vickie Torres, told the Los Angeles Times. 'And that beautiful little baby. God, I hope, whatever happened, she's with her mama.' The Fresno Police Department's Missing Person's Unit is leading the investigation into the woman and child's disappearance. As of Wednesday, the department had nothing new to report, but noted that there was no reason to suspect foul play was involved in the disappearance. 'There is nothing in the current missing persons investigations which leads us to believe any foul play is involved with Whisper and her child not being located yet,' the department said in a statement to the LA Times. On the day of their disappearance, Owen left her home in Elk Grove, where she lives with her partner and their three other children, around 4 a.m. She was leaving early to make a 160-mile drive to Fresno to make a doctor's appointment for 8-month-old Sandra. After the doctor's visit, Owen visited her brother in Fresno and stayed there until around 2.45 p.m., after which she went to visit her mother's house. She left Fresno around 5 p.m., but never made it home. A license plate reader in Atwater, approximately 65 miles from Fresno, flagged Owen's 2006 Chevy Trailblazer. Surveillance footage from a nearby tobacco shop showed Owen changing Sandra's diaper in the parking lot about a half and hour before the license plate reader picked up her vehicle. No one has heard from or seen the mother or daughter since. Owen's mother, Torres, told the LA Times it wasn't unusual for her to stay in Fresno for days at a time. Three days later, she received a call from Owen's partner, who police have not identified, asking where she was. 'So then everything started to get scary at that point,' Torres told the paper. Torres has been frustrated with the lack of answers from law enforcement. She contacted the Sacramento Police Department and the FBI for help, though she noted that neither have been responsive. "They've all blown me off," she told the LA Times. That's left family members to search the route between Elk Grove and Fresno searching for any sign of Owen. Torres said her daughter's other children are "losing their minds" and insisted her daughter would never run off and abandon her children. She also told the paper that Owen's partner has been "constantly searching, and he's exhausting every resource to him." Owen is 5'6 and weighs approximately 145 pounds. She has blue eyes and brown hair. Her daughter is an infant weighing around 17 pounds with green eyes and brown hair. The Fresno County Sheriff's Department has asked anyone who sees Owen and her daughter to call 911 immediately.

Notting Hill carnival machete attacker jailed for 18 years for attempted murder after he launched himself at teenager and slashed open his stomach
A teenager will spend 18 years behind bars after he attacked a stranger with a 10-inch 'zombie knife' at Notting Hill Carnival. Rumarni Tuitt, 19, from Walthamstow, north-east London, stabbed 18-year-old Kamani Spooner with the deadly weapon on the evening of August 24 last year. He was found guilty of attempted murder back on May 8 following a two-week trial at the Old Bailey. Sentencing him on Friday, Judge Judy Khan KC said it was a 'brutal and wholly unjustifiable attack and that there was no justification for carrying a knife of that nature on to crowded streets. 'This was a particularly serious offence committed in the heart of Europe's biggest street festival,' she added. In a witness statement for the police, Mr Spooner said he spent much of the day drinking with his friends and enjoying the carnival before the horrific assault unfolded. 'Towards the end of the carnival, he [Mr Spooner] could hear shouting coming from somewhere and he realised he was somehow in the middle of it,' prosecutor Mark Paltenghi told jurors. 'He then saw people fighting around him - three of them were quite close, they were throwing punches. 'He then recalls being hit in the back and upon looking at his arm, saw it had been cut, then looked down and saw that his intestines were hanging out. He put his hand over them and just ran. Mr Tuitt also stabbed Mr Spooner four more times to the side and the back and caused a laceration to his right forearm. Officers arrested Mr Tuitt immediately after the attack and were able to provide vital medical treatment to his victim until paramedics could reach them. Despite having his stomach sliced open, Mr Spooner miraculously survived his injuries thanks to life saving surgery. The zombie-style knife used, described by police as 'at least 10 inches in length', was recovered from the scene. 'Zombie-style' is the street name given to weapons which are over eight inches in length and often have a serrated edge, spikes or more than two sharp points. During his trial in May, the court heard that Mr Tuitt and Mr Spooner did not know each other. Mr Tuitt said that he was acting in self defence but the jury rejected his claim. Acting Detective Inspector Sophie McLoughlin, who led the investigation, said: 'This was a savage and senseless attack. The victim was very lucky to survive his injuries. 'Hundreds of thousands of people, including the victim in this case, go to Carnival to have a good time and enjoy the music and entertainment. 'Those who would choose to turn up armed with a 10 inch zombie knife clearly have no such intentions. 'It is thanks to the vigilance of officers on duty that day and the hard work of my team in the months since that we were able to build the case that saw Tuitt convicted at court. 'It is also thanks to officers' immediate medical intervention at the scene, as well as the specialist further care by paramedics, that we're talking about a conviction for attempted murder and not worse. 'I hope the victim can now move forward and begin to put this experience behind him.'
