Ellie Goulding ditched her heavy eyeliner and fake tan for an 'understated look' at Jeff Bezos's wedding following her split from Caspar Jopling
But it's a far cry from Ellie Goulding 's most recent glamorous appearance at Jeff Bezos 's wedding - with the 38-year-old star looking effortlessly Old Hollywood in a plunging figure-hugging gown and sleek tresses.
The singer, who last year announced her divorce from Caspar Jopling, put in a sultry display as she arrived in Venice sporting a tight, plum sequined dress, custom by The OWN Studio, - signalling a fashion transformation, according to experts.
'What stood out at Bezos's wedding was how understated Ellie's beauty look was - and that's where the shift really shows,' Sabah Karimi, founder of VEXA Beauty, told FEMAIL.
'Back in 2015, she favoured heavier eye makeup, more contour, and an overall more high-glam approach that sometimes competed with her outfit. Now, she's mastered a softer, more sculpted finish that enhances rather than overpowers.'
She said this new evolution of her look also shows in the finer details of her visage.
'Her skin looked luminous but natural, with a light base that let her freckles show through. That kind of restraint takes confidence,' the pro explained.
'The makeup was carefully balanced - neutral tones on the eyes, subtle flush on the cheeks, and a nude lip that pulled everything together without drawing attention away from the overall look. It's the kind of beauty that looks effortless, but only because the technique is spot on.

'This pared-back elegance is becoming her signature. It suits both her features and the more refined image she's projecting these days. It's a sign of someone who knows exactly what works for her and no longer feels the need to chase trends.'
Elsewhere, Kevin Baldwin, founder of Wedding Tropics, agreed that it was the quiet luxury of it all that stands out the most, from Ellie's latest look.
'The sequinned gowns she wore were sleek and deliberate, with clean lines and well-fitted silhouettes that gave her a refined, confident presence,' he explained.
'The deep plum gown she wore on the day itself was especially striking, with a plunging neckline that added drama without looking over the top.
'It's a far cry from her early red carpet days, where her style was more experimental and often leaned into festival-inspired looks.
'Back then, she mixed boho elements with edgy touches, but the result sometimes lacked polish. Now, she's embracing full glamour with a far more considered approach.
'What stood out this time wasn't just the sparkle, but the restraint in how it was styled. Her hair, makeup and accessories didn't compete with the dress, they supported it.
'That kind of balance shows she's settled into a style that feels grown up and fully her own.'
Last week, as Ellie - sporting matching clutch bag and folded red fan amid the balmy temperatures - waved at crowds during her travels to the luxury $20million nuptials, which was also attended by the likes of the Kardashians and Leonardo DiCaprio, it was clear that her fashion signalled an A-liter worthy aesthetic.
Her appearance at the wedding came as a slight surprise to fans, as no connection between her and the bride and groom has been made publicly known.
The pop star did not previously make an appearance at the bachelorette party of Lauren, 55, and wasn't thought to be friends with either the journalist-turned-philanthropist nor Jeff, 61.
Glistening in the glamorous frock, Ellie's look proved to move away from not only her noughties style but her more laid back and trend-led pieces from recent years, too.
In 2024, she was cool in a puffer jacket-esque gown for the Fashion Awards, and chic in a trimmed suit at another event. Elsewhere that year, Ellie was rocking distressed fabrics in a grungy ensemble while out in Berlin.
The year prior, the singer was all about the Y2K mesh fabrics and asymmetric cuts.
Now however - one year after separating from Jaspar - the star appears to be taking her opulent taste to the next level with understated simplicity.
The pop star and her estranged husband confirmed their split in February 2024 - after four years of marriage.
Caspar added: Ellie and I remain the closet of friends and most importantly 'co-parents' to the best kiddo in the world, Arthur'
The former couple shared a joint statement on Instagram after it was revealed Ellie had moved on with hunky surf instructor Armando Perez when the pair were spotted packing on the PDA in Costa Rica.
Ellie's trip to Central America was the second of that year, and she is believed to have met Armando during a trip in January.
Ellie and her ex Caspar were already reportedly living separate lives for at least six months, despite trying to work things out for the sake of their son Arthur, two.
In her statement, the musician wrote: 'In light of recent stories, I feel I have been left with no choice but to let you all know that Caspar and I privately separated some time ago.
'We remain the closest of friends and have been successfully co-parenting with our sons best interests at heart.
'We are committed to protecting our family privacy and thank people in advance for respecting our wishes - we won't be commenting further. Thank you.'
Friends of the couple told MailOnline 'divorce is the only outcome' following their split after two years battling to save their relationship.
Sources close to Ellie told how it isn't the ideal ending for her but it is the 'only one' after exhausting all possibilities with Caspar.
A pal said: 'Ellie and Caspar have been over for some time now but there was this whole carry on of them pretending to be together.
'The fact is that it is over, Ellie moved on some time ago but she didn't want anyone to know.'
They continued: 'But now she is enjoying the company of other men and there is simply no way back.
'It is so sad, especially because they have got little Arthur but they can't make it work and now it, really sadly, is going to end in divorce. There is no way that the marriage can be saved, the only way it is going to end now is by divorcing.
'It wasn't necessarily the outcome they have always wanted but that's where they are, Ellie is ready to date other men if he isn't already, Caspar surely will be back out on the market again soon.'
Ellie and Caspar married in August 2019 at York Minster with A-list guests including Sienna Miller, Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry.
Their split was first rumoured in June 2023, when sources claimed they were 'living apart'.
After weeks of discussions about how they would reveal their separation, the pop star's team finally revealed they had been spending time apart - blaming their 'hectic schedules' for the demise of their marriage.
That same month Ellie was seen without her wedding and engagement ring when she attended the Serpentine Summer Party with Caspar.

I'm a mum & Primark has become too expensive – here's the supermarket where I got almost 40 items for less than £80
AS prices are skyrocketing, millions of cash-strapped parents are looking for ways to slash costs wherever possible. A few years ago, many would've popped inside Primark to snap up a pile of clothes for their little ones on the cheap. 2 But over the last few months, furious customers have expressed fury over the popular retailer's prices, including a winter coat for £50. ' A £100 price tag in Primark, never thought I'd see the day!', posted a critic, referring to a black dress that Rita, 34, wore to attend the British Fashion Awards. Another commented on the frock: 'Primark isn't Primarking any more.' One former customer, mum-of-five and TikToker Mrs Luckey, has now also stopped going to the high street store, dubbing it ''so expensive''. The cash-savvy mum recently revealed where's been going instead - and how ditching Primark for a supermarket saved her a fortune. Ahead of the summer holidays, the thrifty mother bagged a mega pile of clothes for less than £80 - and it's all thanks to shopping at ASDA. The mega supermarket has long been a firm favourite for fashionistas - and there is plenty of wallet-friendly kids clothing too. During her trip to the store, the money-smart TikToker nabbed a total of 14 pairs of shorts, 14 summery tops, as well as five pairs of colourful leggings. The monster haul, which came to just £79, also included six sets of adorable pyjamas that her kids are sure to love. Sharing the jaw-dropping finds, the mum said in the video: ''Primark has become so expensive. Primark's mini dress is a copy of a £135 designer version - it'll give you a gorgeous hourglass figure & perfect for date night ''So instead of going there, I went to ASDA instead. ''I got the girls a pack of shorts each, all seven of them cost me about £8. ''So that was 14 pairs of shorts for about £16.'' How Asda has upped it's game By Fabulous' Fashion Director Tracey Lea Sayer Take a whizz round the aisles in Asda it is hard not to notice how good the George at Asda clothing range is at the minute. Add into the mix their recent collaboration with fashion designer Roksanda, celebrating 40 years of London Fashion Week, which is full of the designer's signature colour blocking dresses, oversized Borg fleeces and bold stripe co-ords, it is easy to see why the brand is on fire! All proceeds from the range go to The British Fashion Council to help promote young designers, so a win win! There also seems to be a return to quality in the clothing range. 'Style Stories' with fashion influencer Erica Davies is a capsule collection of Autumn must-haves which delivered not only on style, but on great pocket friendly prices starting from £7. Gorgeous quilted jackets, slogan sweats and a chocolate faux sheepskin flying jacket are among my faves. Plus, George at Asda has just been crowned with the Best Kidswear in our Fabulous Fashion awards voted for by the Fabulous readers. Click to buy enables you to shop the whole range online or you can just have a browse while you do the weekly shop. You are welcome! The bargain haul also included gorgeous summery vests that cost the mum just £12 for five - or just £2.40 each - as well as two Moana T-shirts slashed to just £4 on sale. Not only this, but the savvy shopper also nabbed a pack of seven tops for a mere £8 - and more. ''I thought I did really well. The whole hail cost me £79 and I definitely feel I got more clothes from ASDA than I would've got from Primark.'' Raving about the affordable collection, the mum went on in the comments under the video: ''Such nice quality for the price.'' It's not just the thrifty mum pleased with the retailer's clothing range - heaps of other fans flooded to comments to praise the supermarket.

Adolescence star Erin Doherty puts on a VERY animated display as she watches the action at Wimbledon's centre court following split from partner Sophie Melville
Adolescence star Erin Doherty put on a very animated display as she watched the Women's Singles at Wimbledon on Sunday. The actress, 32, who MailOnline exclusively revealed earlier this year had split from partner of seven years Sophie Melville, cut a chic figure in a Ralph Lauren suit. Erin looked effortlessly stylish in the beige look which boasted wide legged trousers and a waistcoat that she opted to go shirtless beneath. She draped the blazer over her shoulders while posing up a storm in Ralph Lauren's VIP suite before taking her seat in the stands. Erin could not keep her eyes off the court during the nail-bitting game which saw Sonay Kartal's fine Wimbledon run end with a fourth-round loss to Russian veteran Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. Erin and Sophie first met in 2017 when they were starring in The Divide, a play written by Alan Ayckbourn, and posted their first snap on Instagram together two years later. It comes after MailOnline exclusively revealed earlier this year that the actress (R) had split from partner of seven years Sophie Melville (L) Pictured together 2019 Erin, who starred as Briony Ariston in the smash hit Netflix series Adolescence, no longer follows Sophie on social media, with sources telling MailOnline that their relationship is over. Sophie, 34, is best known for starring in the one-woman play Iphigenia in Splott, and has also appeared in Call The Midwife, and BBC drama The Pact. Erin stars alongside Stephen Graham in the Netflix one-shot drama Adolescence, which centres on schoolboy Jamie Miller (played by Owen Cooper), who is accused of murdering a girl, and has been universally praised by critics and viewers. Erin had previously branded her relationship with Sophie her 'greatest accomplishment', and just last week, she shared how she finally came to terms with her sexuality after years of being left 'unsatisfied' dating men. The Crown star said she'd been been a 'people pleaser' and had boyfriends in a bid to fit in, before one 'mind-blowing' relationship with a woman changed everything. Speaking on the How To Fail podcast she said: 'It was mind blowing and it felt like I had come home, I was just like "Wow, this is a part of who I am that I'd never got to meet" which was just so crazy'. Erin went onto discuss her sexuality saying: 'It took me a really, really long time to finally get to the point where I was like "Oh, I'm gay"'. 'But I think, again, because I grew up doing the social thing of going: "Oh, OK, well, I'll have a boyfriend and I'll do this thing" and I never questioned it'. She continued: 'I never really was ready to carve out that path for myself, even though looking back, I always knew that my relationships with men weren't satisfying in that whole hearted way that I wanted them to be.' Erin, who also starred as Princess Anne in The Crown, noted that the relationship with Sophie was her 'proudest accomplishment' but insisted they 'never went up for the same roles'. She told Porter in 2022: 'She's made me so healthy. I used to sit at home eating a bag of chocolates and now we have like, a kale salad.' That same year, Erin also admitted it was 'gutting' to even question the idea that going public with her girlfriend would jeopardise her having a successful career. The star, who played Princess Anne in the third and fourth series of The Crown, opened up about her own experience as she reflected on how difficult it must've been for women in the royal family to express their sexuality. Erin, who is happily in a relationship with fellow actress Sophie Melville, remarked: 'I felt a lot of pressure to withhold my sexuality.' Speaking to The Telegraph, Erin detailed how landing the role of the Princess Royal made her reluctant to be fully open about her sexuality for fear of her future acting career, admitting it was disheartening that the thought even crossed her mind. She said: 'I'm not gonna lie, I won't name names, but when I got The Crown, I felt a lot of pressure to withhold my sexuality. 'There was a period of time when I was like, do I get to be open about this in order to have a successful career? And the fact that that question still went through my mind, and may still go through other people's minds, is so gutting.' She continued: 'I'm really aware of all the people who have lived years and years and years, either in shame or denial, or just hiding - actors, actresses definitely stopping it getting out there in order to have a career - and I just want to be a part of trying to do something about that.'
