All arrangements in place for Haryana teacher eligibility test
Over 4 lakh candidates will appear in the HTET across 673 examination centres in the state. The Level-3 (PGT) exam will be held on July 30 from 3 pm to 5.30pm, while the Level-2 (TGT) exam will be held on July 31 from 10 am to 12.30 pm, and the Level-1 (PRT) exam will be conducted on the same day from 3 pm to 5.30 pm.
An official spokesperson said that before entering the examination centres, all candidates will be frisked using metal detectors and their biometric verification will be conducted.
To prevent any malpractice or anti-social activities, live monitoring of exam centres will be conducted from the Board headquarters via a high-tech command and control centre using AI-powered CCTV cameras. Full security arrangements will also be in place around the exam centres through local police.
The spokesperson further stated that to strictly curb cheating and other irregularities, around 220 flying squads have been appointed. 'If any candidate or official/staff is found involved in cheating, misconduct or any criminal activity at any exam centre, strict action will be taken against them. Any kind of negligence or irresponsible behaviour by any official/staff will not be tolerated under any circumstances,' the spokesperson said.

There were behavioural changes in the girl since she started meeting the accused and she was always disturbed, the family told the police. A case has been registered against the businessman under section 64 (rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and sections 4(1) (penetrative sexual assault), 8 (sexual assault) and 12 (sexual harrasment) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

BAMS admissions' row: HC gives Hoshiarpur varsity 5 weeks to complete probe
The Punjab and Haryana high court has directed Guru Ravi Das Ayurved University, Hoshiarpur, to complete within five weeks an inquiry into allegations that 15 students of Shiv Shakti Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Moga, secured admissions to the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) course on the basis of 'wrong information'. (Getty Images/iStockphoto/ Representational image) The order was passed by the bench of chief justice Sheel Nagu and justice Sanjiv Berry, while disposing of the students' petition, who had challenged varsity show-cause notice as to why their admissions should not be cancelled. The court also ordered that results of the examination in which some petitioner students were allowed to appear by the high court in June would not be declared and the same would remain subject to the outcome of the inquiry. The court was hearing a petition from the 15 odd students admitted in 2020-21 and 2021-22 academic sessions. The allegations are that during the admission process, the petitioners' NEET ranking details were 'incorrectly furnished and deliberately suppressed,' giving an impression that they had qualified the national entrance test. During the hearing it had come to the fore that admission forms of the petitioner students were filled by agents, Tarsem Kumar and Raj Kumar, who entered incorrect information by mentioning such rankings of these students in NEET examination which gave an impression that they had passed NEET examination. As per the varsity, a complaint came from one Rajbir Singh, a Patiala resident, of alleged irregularities following which the university ordered an internal probe. The inquiry has been entrusted to justice (retd) Rajiv Narain Raina of the Punjab and Haryana high court, which is underway, the court was told by the varsity. In view of the varsity submissions, the court has disposed of the plea directing that inquiry be completed within five weeks and requested the inquiry officer to conclude the same within a given period.

Ghaziabad court acquits two in stalking case, orders perjury action against complainant
A Ghaziabad court on July 29 acquitted two men accused of stalking a 13-year-old girl in 2019 and directed police to register a case under Section 344 of the CrPC against the complainant—the girl's mother—for allegedly filing a false FIR and giving misleading testimony in court. The FIR was registered against the two named suspects based on input from a police informer, following which both were taken into custody. (Getty Images/iStockphoto) The accused had been booked under IPC sections 354(d)(1)(i) (stalking), 504 (intentional insult), and 507 (criminal intimidation by anonymous communication), along with provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act. The FIR was lodged at Kavi Nagar police station on March 25, 2019. The chargesheet was filed on August 5, 2019. Special judge (Pocso) Lal Babu Yadav, while acquitting the two men, stated in his order that the complainant 'lodged an FIR on the basis of wrong facts... and deliberately gave false evidence in the court. So, a case under section 344 of the CrPC be registered against the complainant, and thereafter notice be issued.' During the trial, four prosecution witnesses were examined, including the girl, her mother, and two police officers. The defence presented no witnesses. Sub-inspector Ajay Verma told the court that the FIR was registered against the two named suspects based on input from a police informer, following which both were taken into custody. In court, the girl's mother said she had filed the complaint based on information provided by others and that the two accused were not involved. 'I wrote in my complaint whatever people at the spot told me. The two accused present in the court were not involved in the incident,' she testified. She was declared a hostile witness. The girl testified that she had been stalked but said, 'The two accused present in the court were not those two,' and could not identify who had hurled abuses. She too was declared hostile. Special public prosecutor (Pocso) Satish Sharma said he would respond to the judgement but did not take HT's calls later.
