"This claim is FAKE. Please remain vigilant and do not fall for panic-inducing misinformation," it added.
This comes amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following India's precision strikes on terror camps across the border in response to the April 22 attack in Pahalgam.
Since then, several Pakistani social media accounts have circulated misleading content to provoke panic and distort the narrative. The PIB's Fact Check Unit investigated several videos between late Wednesday and early Thursday.
Earlier, IT ministry issued an advisory outlining important 'dos and don'ts' and asked the users to be vigilant and responsible.

Rajasthan: DRDO guest house manager in Pokhran detained on suspicions of espionage
Security agencies have detained the manager of a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) guest house in Jaisalmer on suspicions of spying for Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), officials said. For representational purposes only. (Getty Images/iStockphoto) The accused, identified as Mahendra Prasad, was posted at the Pokhran Field Firing Range guest house, a facility considered highly sensitive due to its frequent use by India's top defense experts, scientists, and senior military officers. According to officials, Prasad, a resident of Almora in Uttarakhand, was taken into custody on Monday night following a long period of surveillance. Confirming the development, Jaisalmer superintendent of police Abhishek Shivhare said Prasad was detained by security agencies on allegations of sharing classified information about military tests and exercises with Pakistan. His mobile phone, suspected to contain critical evidence, is undergoing forensic examination. Prasad has been working as a manager at the DRDO Chandhan guest house since 2008. People familiar with the development said the accused had allegedly leaked details about the movements and activities of visiting defence personnel as well as sensitive information related to the Pokhran range. Security agencies have also recovered incriminating call logs and chat records linking him to suspected Pakistani handlers. Security agencies believe that questioning Prasad could reveal whether he was acting alone or part of a larger spy network operating in the region. He is expected to be handed over to the joint interrogation committee (JIC) on Tuesday, where officials from multiple security agencies will question him to uncover the extent of the espionage network. Military intelligence is also part of the probe. Rajasthan shares India's longest international border with Pakistan, stretching 1,070 km. The region houses three major airbases and several critical military installations, making it a prime target for the ISI. From Hindumalkot in Sri Ganganagar to Bakhassar in Barmer, Indian security agencies maintain heightened surveillance, especially around defence establishments. Prasad's arrest adds to a series of espionage-related detentions in Rajasthan this year. Between March and May alone, five individuals were arrested across the state for allegedly spying for Pakistan.

"Shot Itself In Foot": PM Modi's Jibe At Opposition Over Op Sindoor Debate
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday told an NDA parliamentary party meeting that the Opposition made a "mistake" by asking for a Parliament discussion on Operation Sindoor, which was launched to target terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), sources told NDTV. He said the Opposition got "thrashed badly" and "shot itself in the foot" during the debate in Parliament's Monsoon session last week, sources said. He also said the Opposition was insistent on "self-harm". This was the second such meeting of the BJP-led alliance during Parliament's sessions since the government was formed in June last year. During the meeting, PM Modi was also felicitated for his "exceptional leadership" during the government's firm response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack under Operation Sindoor, which was launched on May 7. #WATCH | Delhi: PM Narendra Modi was welcomed and felicitated with a thunderous applause amid chants of 'Har Har Mahadev', after the success of Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev, at the NDA Parliamentary Party Meeting. — ANI (@ANI) August 5, 2025 PM Modi's "unwavering resolve, visionary statesmanship and resolute command have not only steered the nation with purpose but also ignited a renewed spirit of unity and pride in the hearts of all Indians," the NDA MPs said in a resolution. They also saluted the "unmatched courage and unwavering commitment" of the Indian armed forces during Operation Sindoor. "Their courage highlights their unflinching devotion to protecting our nation," they said. They said Operation Sindoor "entailed a non-escalatory, precise and targeted attack" on terrorist training camps. "It resonated with India's commitment to peace, zero tolerance towards terror and commitment to do whatever it takes to uproot terrorist infrastructure if circumstances so demanded," the resolution read. They also paid condolences to 26 people who lost their lives in the Pahalgam attack. "This terror attack saddened and enraged everyone," the NDA MPs said. They also praised PM Modi for the government's global outreach efforts after Operation Sindoor. "After Operation Sindoor, the Prime Minister ensured 59 Members of Parliament from across parties visited 32 countries to present India's point of view. This is one of the most comprehensive global outreach ever launched by India, highlighting how the country has been a victim of terror and why a terror attack in any one part of the world is a crime against humanity across the globe," they said.

‘Rahul Gandhi Makes False Claims, SC Has Commented On It': Rijiju Quotes PM Modi After NDA Meet
Last Updated: A resolution was passed during the meeting acknowledging the success of Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev, 2 military operations launched in response to terrorist threats. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, speaking after the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting on Tuesday, cited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of routinely making false and misleading statements. Addressing reporters after the meeting, Rijiju said, 'The Prime Minister clearly stated that when Rahul Gandhi makes false statements, even the Supreme Court has had to comment on it. This is a lesson for all of us — never to say anything untrue." The NDA Parliamentary Party meeting was held in Delhi and was addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who reflected on the coalition's journey since its formation in 1998. Rijiju said the Prime Minister shared insights from his leadership across three consecutive terms and laid out the roadmap for the NDA's future. A resolution was passed during the meeting acknowledging the success of Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev — two recent military operations launched in response to terrorist threats. The NDA lauded the bravery of the Indian Armed Forces, with Rijiju saying the meeting paid its respects to the sacrifices and valour of the soldiers. Rijiju also hit out at the Opposition for stalling Parliamentary proceedings. 'This is the third week of the session, and not a single bill has been passed. The Opposition is continuously disrupting Parliament," he said, calling on all parties to cooperate in legislative work. He further criticised Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge for allegedly misleading the House by claiming security forces other than marshals were deployed in the chamber — a claim, Rijiju said, was refuted by the Chair. 'Only Marshals are allowed to enter the House. Kharge Ji's letter to the Deputy Chairman was completely wrong and intended to mislead the nation. We reject it," he said. Rijiju also accused the Congress Party of prioritising dynastic politics over constitutional values. 'The Congress considers one family above the Constitution. They do not respect Parliament or the country," he said. Bills On Tribal Reservation, Manipur Expected Rijiju informed that the government will introduce a bill to provide reservation to tribals in the legislative assembly in the Lok Sabha and aims to pass a bill related to Manipur in the Rajya Sabha. 'We will begin our efforts today, but for that, the Opposition must stop the chaos," he added. As the NDA gears up to push ahead with its legislative agenda, the government has made it clear that parliamentary disruption will not be tolerated, and that misleading the public — especially by senior leaders — will be publicly countered. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
