Sarah Michelle Gellar's husband Freddie Prinze Jr addresses rumoured feud between his wife and I Know What You Did Last Summer co-star Jennifer Love Hewitt
The actor, 49, spoke out following allegations that the original I Know What You Did Last Summer stars were on bad terms after they failed to be photographed together at the reboot's premiere on Thursday.
Both he and Jennifer, 46, reprise their roles from the 1997 slasher film with brief cameos in its long-awaited reboot.
Freddie explained that the actors have simply failed to keep in touch over the years but had a chance to briefly catch up on set.
He told Variety: 'We run in different circles. I hadn't seen her since we wrapped the second movie in '98, but we care a lot about these characters, and it was all still there.
'After we finished that first scene, we had a chance to say, "Oh, you have kids. And you have kids."'
Sarah's husband spoke out following allegations that the original I Know What You Did Last Summer stars were on bad terms after their failure to be photographed together at the reboot's premiere on Thursday
Praising the new film, which is the fourth installment in the franchise, Freddie said he is particularly proud of the new insight it gives fans into their characters.
He added: 'Honestly, I think the first scene we share in this movie, where Ray and Julie confront the reality of their relationship, is the best work we've done.
'I'm really proud of it. Our director, Jenn Robinson, three-dimensionalized these characters.'
Jennifer has also addressed the rumours that she and Sarah, 48, are on bad terms.
In a recent interview with Vulture, she said: 'I honestly don't even know what that was or how that all came to be.
'I just think people don't want the narrative to be easy. Why do we always have to be against each other and out for each other?' she queried.
She then admitted that she has not seen Gellar in 28 years.
'I haven't seen Sarah,' the 9-1-1 star said. 'Literally, we've not talked since I saw her at 18 years old when the first movie came out. That's why it's so funny to me.'
Jennifer said people in her circle had encouraged her to enter the fray, but 'I'm like, "What am I going to say? I've not seen her."'
The actress, 46, has reprised her role as an older and wiser Julie James in the new I Know What You Did Last Summer, which opened in cinemas on Friday.
The franchise famously centres around incidents following groups of friends who try to cover up bloody incidents from the previous summer.
Fans also thought it was weird that Jennifer shared the trailer from the new fright flick on social media and didn't mention her former co-star.
Jennifer said all is fine, however, between her and Sarah.
'On my side, we're good. I have no idea where this is coming from,' she asserted.

Wife of Hollywood actor claims she's ‘always broke' and ‘lives pay cheque to pay cheque'
HER husband is one of Hollywood's biggest comedy actors, but despite this, Dawn O'Porter has revealed she is struggling to make ends meet financially. The television presenter, 46, who has been married to Bridesmaids actor Chris O'Dowd since 2012, has opened up about her money woes. 4 4 4 She expressed to MailOnline: 'I work pay cheque to pay cheque. I'm always broke. My card got declined last week. I'm like, what the f*** is happening? When will this end?' The Scottish writer and director has had a varied career, presenting several documentaries and shows including BBC's Super Slim Me and How To Look Good Naked on Channel 4. Meanwhile, Chris, 45, has starred in some of Hollywood's biggest productions, including This Is 40, Thor: The Dark World, Gulliver's Travels and St. Vincent. The couple have two children, sons Art, 11, and Valentine, who is eight years old. The family returned to London last Summer after living in Los Angeles for the past eight years. This isn't the first time Dawn has opened up about her financial woes as she previously alluded to living quite a humble lifestyle. While appearing on the White Wine Question Time podcast with Kate Thornton, she explained: 'I've never seen myself as a celebrity. 'Even though I'm married to Chris, who is quite a well-known actor, I don't think either of us have ever seen ourselves as celebrities. 'I guess if I was a celebrity, I'd get paid lots of money to do things that aren't necessarily my job or don't really feed what I do, but I don't. My job is writing, with the occasional little ad on Instagram to pay the rent.' After struggling to find her place in the bright lights of Hollywood, Dawn decided to return to the UK but it wasn't smooth sailing. She recounted: 'We were living in LA and I just said to Chris, I've got to go back to London to try and claw back my career. 'And we came back to London for a bit and I'd go for these meetings at TV production companies and I'd been successful. "I had my own series on Channel 4... and they'd be like, 'What do you want to do?' and I was like, 'I want to do what I do'. But no one wanted to employ me.' The mum-of-two had a regular column with Stylist magazine which she was dropped by and that really affected her confidence. 'I was cool. I had my own show on Channel 4... then as my career just kind of... declined, I think they looked at me and were like, well she's just not that interesting anymore,' Dawn revealed, 'It was the final blow to my confidence. I was absolutely on the floor because I always felt that writing would be the thing that saved me. Dawn released her first novel in 2013, Paper Aeroplanes, which is a fictional story loosely inspired by her upbringing in Guernsey. She went on to release The Cows in 2016 which earned her a place on the Sunday Times Best Sellers List.

Revealed: Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson's heartbreaking last words before his death at 79
Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson 's last words have been revealed by his son Willie - two months after his father's death. The TV personality had passed away on May 20 at the age of 79 following a battle with Alzheimer's - leaving fans devastated when his loved ones announced the sad news. Willie, 53, who notably starred alongside his late dad in the A&E reality series Duck Dynasty from 2012-2017, opened up about Phil's last words during an interview with TV Insider. 'Phil had been struggling with Alzheimer's for a while. It was on our mind for sure, his condition. It's part of life.' He then added, 'Phil had such a strong faith. He told us before, "Do not cry at my funeral. I know where I'm going."' Willie also discussed the multitude of messages the family has received since Robertson's death and further reflected on the impact the professional hunter had on others. 'What a life he lived. We heard that from thousands of people, the people he impacted. Phil would have wanted us to do exactly what we're doing. Whatever is a reflection of that faith, and our show is a reflection of our faith. Not overtly.' The star continued to the outlet, 'We're not trying to preach to people or convert people, but I think you can see the fruit in the faith of our show and our family and how it sticks together through good times and bad. 'That's why we are on this earth. As we move on, I think it's a reminder to all of us the time will come. I hope I have a funeral like that where people feel that way about me as well.' A sequel series to the original A&E show titled Duck Dynasty: The Revival premiered on the network on June 1 - only days after Phil's passing. Willie's wife Korie talked about how while Phil was not able to take part in filming the revival due to his heath battle, they were able to show a brief clip of the late star sending a thumbs up to Willie. She explained, 'Our show came out the week Phil passed. It was really special to our family that we had that one little clip. 'When filming this time around, he was already in the throes of Alzheimer's, so he wasn't able to be part of the show.' Korie continued, 'We did film that one little thing where he gave Willie the thumbs up. It was really special because for our family it felt like, okay, this is his opportunity to pass on the torch to us.' Nearly two months earlier, Phil's family issued a statement on Facebook to announce his death after a battle with Alzheimer's in his final months. 'We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord,' Willie's daughter-in-law Korie had written. 'Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life saved by grace, his bold faith, and by his desire to tell everyone who would listen the Good News of Jesus.' She then added, 'We are grateful for his life on earth and will continue the legacy of love for God and love for others until we see him again.' Other family members jumped to social media to pay tribute to Phil such as Willie and Jep Robertson, and the late star's granddaughter Sadie. Sadie also recently revealed the last words her grandfather had told her on Instagram and said: 'One of the last things he said to me was "full strength ahead!" Amen!' It came after she also shared a Bible verse which read: 'Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come – 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV.' The media personality continued, 'As I was sitting with Papaw Phil today, I thought about this verse… he has already experienced this on earth - going from dead to alive by the power of Christ! 'It was his testimony that changed his life, our families life, and thousands of others. Now he is experiencing it in the fullness. Fully alive in Christ. The new has come.' Late last year in December, Phil's family revealed that the Ducky Dynasty patriarch had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. The news was shared to the Unashamed with The Robertson Family podcast at the time, with his son Jase explaining that the disease was in the 'early stages.' He expressed that Phil 'keeps saying, "I'm gonna get back to the podcast." But I'm like, "Well, Phil, you can barely walk around without crying out in pain."' Jase then shared, 'He just can't retain weight, he keeps losing weight, and he's just not able to do much.' Despite his health battles, the late star had kept up his humor with Jase saying that he had told his dad, 'You know, your memory is not what it once was.' And Phil responded with, 'Tell me about it.' Last week, it was revealed that Phil's widow Miss Kay has made an 'unbelievable' health comeback two months after her husband's heartbreaking death. Last month in June, her son Willie revealed that she was 'not in the best of health' as she mourned the loss of her husband and Duck Dynasty monarch. However, he recently joined wife Korie to offer a positive update on his mother during an interview with Fox News Digital published on Wednesday. 'She is doing so much better. It's unbelievable how she made the turn. I think she was just really kind of depressed after Phil passed away,' Willie told the outlet. 'You know, you've been with somebody for 60 years, over 60 years, so just losing her soulmate and she is getting older.' Willie added that his mother had been 'struggling' with Phil's death but has since 'bounced back, and she just went to church. I think she's going out of town this weekend. She's traveling more. She's on our show.' Korie also expressed how Miss Kay made an appearance on the Duck Call Room podcast this month as 'a proof of life video.' She further said that Kay has 'been with us for a few things that we've been filming this week. So that's been really special. Willie also reflected on his father's passing and stated, 'We were just happy knowing that he's gone on to be with the Lord, and he was so secure in that. 'That's pretty much all he talked about his whole life was whenever it ended, the faith and hope that he had. 'Also with Alzheimer's - the bad part is you have to watch them go down, but I think it does prepare you and I think she may have been even in denial, you know, like that it was actually gonna happen.' Willie explained that Kay 'just had to deal with it' but 'stuck close to the family.' The reality star continued, 'We were all there and all around her, and she was with different family members and just took care of her friends and the relationships she had.' He then expressed gratitude that his mother is able to have 'brighter days' but admitted not having his father around has left 'a big void.' 'And I know them two were so together in pretty much everything that they did, so I know it was hard for her.'

Comedian Bobby Lee believes he was too 'woke' for SATC reboot
A comedian who starred on the first two seasons of And Just Like That has suggested he was written out of the series for being too ' woke.' Bobby Lee, 53, played Jackie Nee on the Sex And The City sequel, but his storyline ended when Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) shifted her career focus. But in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lee said he believes he was axed along with other 'woke elements' for not fitting the vibe. 'Some of the woke elements of the show, they got rid of, and I think I was a part of that,' he told the publication during San Diego Comic-Con 2025 on July 24. He also touched on Sara Ramirez's departure. Ramirez, 49, a non-binary star who uses they/them pronouns, did not return for season 3 after their character, Che Diaz, was widely criticized as 'annoying' by viewers. 'I think Sara [Ramirez] didn't come back and some other people. They tried to put minorities in, and — I don't know. I never saw the show,' Lee said. A source close to the show told that 'as Carrie is no longer hosting a podcast, and instead focused on her novel, the storyline of characters involved in the podcast came to a conclusion.' Lee starred as Jackie Nee, Carrie's podcast co-host, on the first and second seasons of the show. When Carrie transitioned from podcast host to novelist, it not only concluded Lee's storyline but also marked the end for her podcast colleagues, including Franklyn Silvias (played by Ivan Hernandez) and Chloe (played by Ali Stroker). Despite his departure, Lee has fond memories of being on the show, and called his co-star Parker 'the nicest person I've ever met,' adding she made him feel 'so at ease.' 'I like everyone on there. It was fun. I never have bad blood with anybody. You know what I mean? I am nice. I show up on time.' Lee also joked that he doesn't 'even know why they asked' him to star on the show. 'I was super scared to do it. Because it wasn't my brand, really. You know what I mean? But I did it. I walked through the fear.' Lee previously shared how the show helped him get sober. 'I remember going there, being so high and drunk, and when I was reading the script I couldn't even understand what the f**l it was even saying. 'I remember saying to myself, "This is never going to happen again. I had to get sober. This is insane,"' he said in a 2023 podcast. In addition to Lee, the show also wrote out Karen Pittman, who portrayed Nya Wallace, Miranda's professor-turned-friend, and Ramirez's character, Che, the controversial love interest for Cynthia Nixon's Miranda Hobbes. Last January, insiders told that Ramirez had been dropped from the cast as many felt her character was a 'waste of airtime' and 'annoying' viewers. This came after Ramirez heavily suggested their time on the show was over for expressing pro-Palestinian beliefs. But a source close to the show ridiculed the suggestion, claiming Ramirez's head had been 'on the chopping block since last season' because their character 'held no value anymore' and was 'annoying.' 'Sara was not fired because they support Palestine and the ceasefire,' they told exclusively. 'Sara was fired because Che brought nothing to the show anymore. They were on the chopping block since last season.' 'After Che split with Miranda, the character really held no value anymore and fans found them annoying. 'The storyline as a struggling comedian was a waste of airtime and Sara knew it.' 'Sara needs to accept that this is not Grey's Anatomy, and her character was not a pivotal part of the storyline,' the source added. Che, a newcomer to the spin-off series who introduced themselves as a 'queer nonbinary Mexican Irish diva,' struck up a relationship with Miranda after she abandoned her marriage to husband Steve Brady. The character was accused of being the 'worst' on the series, which saw Miranda reunited on screen with Carrie and Charlotte York, played by Kristin Davis. Viewers found the character 'cringe' and accused them of '[setting] back non-binary representation 70 years.' Ramirez appeared to accuse the show of dropping them over their political views, in an Instagram rant the night after the Emmy Awards. 'Our industry is so duplicitous,' they said. 'While they give awards away, casting directors and agents are making blacklists of actors and workers who post anything in support of Palestinians in Gaza to ensure they will not work again.' And Just Like that premiered in 2021 and is on its third season. The show airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO Max.
