In a tiny, cramped booth nestled away in the BBC studios, a whole host of famous TV presenters kicked off their careers.
Children's TV show The Broom Cupboard began in 1985, replacing the shaky voiceover and still slides linking CBBC shows with real-life presenters.
Despite its practical beginnings it soon became a hit in itself, with the likes of Phillip Schofield, Debbie Flint and Zoe Ball all forging their famous TV personalities on the show.
Iconic characters Edd the Duck, Otis the Aardvark and Gordon the Gopher even joined in on the fun, with letters and drawings from viewers plastered across the walls of the tiny studio room.
Many of the programme's stars look completely different these days, with brand new careers - and Josie D'Arby is no exception.

After her stint in The Broom Cupboard, Josie went on to become an award-winning presenter, becoming a well-known face on the likes of Songs of Praise, Top of the Pops, Inside Out and Cardiff Singer of The World.
In 1999, the 52-year-old star from Newport, Wales, became the youngest British woman to have her own chat show, titled Josie, on Channel 5.
Josie's media ambitions didn't stop there and she soon pivoted to acting, where she starred as Alisha Adams in Holby City and made guest appearances in Casualty and Doctor Who.
She's even tried her hand as a quiz show contestant, appearing on Richard Osman's House of Games and Pointless in 2022.
More recently, Josie ditched the cameras for a career that's worlds away from presenting. The star has been pursuing her artistic talent, even showcasing her painting in a show at the Newport Museum Art Gallery in 2023.
The BBC star started to take art more seriously after winning a televised art competition, South Wales Argus reports. The painting was called Less, which Josie said was "about how little it can take to make people happy."
"Art is for everyone and I am happy if my piece is just a tiny little reminder that public galleries can be a space and a time to press pause, and enjoy a lovely space if you're in the city," she explained.
Before her TV career took off, Josie was said to be in a relationship with Hollywood actor Gerard Butler - known for iconic roles in 300, Law Abiding Citizen and London Has Fallen. The pair apparently briefly dated in 2005.
And Gerard isn't her only celebrity flame, as Josie reportedly went on a date with actor Joseph Fiennes - the brother of Harry Potter legend Ralph Fiennes - in 2006.
Josie isn't the only Broom Cupboard presenter who took a different career path. Andy Crane, 61, has been brightening up people's days on Greatest Hits Radio since 2019 and he looks very different from his days on the CBBC show.
He is now residing in the picturesque location of Lake District. Andy, who was born in the seaside town of Morecambe, Lancashire, presents three hours of the best songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s on Greatest Hits Radio, including The Top 10 at 10 and Midnight Music Marathon.
Before hitting the radiowaves, Andy also presented children's show, Motormouth, for ITV on Saturdays. He also featured on What's Up Doc? and Challenge TV.

One of the stars of Peaky Blinders has set the record straight after mass speculation over whether or not he's going to be in the Netflix film. Three years on from the final series of the Birmingham-set BBC period drama, fans are going wild over the latest developments regarding the upcoming movie spin-off. The feature-length film, titled The Immortal Man, will see Cillian Murphy reprise his role as gang leader Tommy Shelby, with other returning cast members including Sophie Rundle, Stephen Graham and Ned Dennehy. Metro recently had a conversation with Sam about leading the new adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo as Alexandre Dumas' tragic protagonist Edmond Dantès. I'm thoroughly excited.' Sam, 39, joined Peaky Blinders from season five as Oswald Mosley, the politician who founded the British Union of Fascists in the 1930s. In the season six finale, it's discovered that Mosley married Diana Mitford (Amber Anderson) in Germany – and that's where the story leaves them. In real life, Mosley and Mitford wed in 1936, and the former died in 1980 at the age of 84. Addressing the possibility of playing Mosley again in the future, Sam said: 'The hope is that he is still alive. Well, I mean, Oswald Mosley lived until 84. He is still alive in the world, whether or not he's a part of the world. 'I've heard rumours similar that [the film is] set in the future. I think Oswald Mosley kind of started losing light and his following during the war.' Now, Sam is starring in a new period drama, but set in a vastly different period from Peaky Blinders. Instead of early 20th-century England, he's gone back even further to 19th-century France, telling the tale of a wrongfully imprisoned man who vows revenge upon his release. The Count of Monte Cristo, which was originally serialised between 1844 and 1846, has been adapted multiple times over the years on the big and small screen, with actors including Richard Chamberlain and Louis Jourdan portraying Edmond Dantès. 'It's known as a classic for a reason,' Sam remarked. 'Back then, people didn't have televisions or radio sets. The fact that it has this cliffhanger element to it to keep people wanting to stick with the story definitely adds to its flavour. 'The characters are so rich and so complex. It's an incredibly authentic insight into what life was like back then in France, the politics, as much as seeing how the nobility lived.' Sam acknowledged that playing Edmond Dantès was a 'dream role' for him, given there are 'so many layers' to the character. 'It was a challenge, but one that I was very excited to get my teeth stuck into,' he added. Speaking of iconic characters, two years ago, the actor transformed into a '70s rockstar when he played Billy Dunne in the Amazon Prime series Daisy Jones and the Six, adapted from the beloved book by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Ever since the one season was released, fans have expressed their desperation for a second outing, or for the actors who were a part of the band to reunite for a live tour. While nothing is set in stone at this point, there clearly is a desire among the cast to make something happen in the future. 'What I will say is I would love to,' Sam confirmed. 'It goes without saying that has been my favourite job that I've done, and my favourite people that I've worked with.' The Me Before You actor outlined how special an experience it was to work with the actors and the crew, filming in the 'magical cities' Los Angeles and New Orleans post-Covid. 'With regards to season two, and with regards to a tour, there were initial conversations about doing a tour. The band itself is six actors, and we all have different schedules. We all live in different parts of the world, trying to align, that was proving difficult,' he said. 'Then we had the opportunity of playing at the MTV Movie Awards, which we rehearsed for. We were rehearsing, and I think it was the day before the MTV Movie Awards, the writers' strike happened, so loads of actors and acts were pulling out in solidarity with the writers. We were advised to do the same, so we reluctantly agreed to pull out. 'Then, of course, the actors' strike started, and then by that point, too much time had passed. All of a sudden, [it was] two years on from the show coming out.' In November, Sam was in LA and met up with his co-star Riley Keough and the book's author Taylor, where the three of them were 'conversing and trying to think up ways in which we could get a season two off the ground'. The desire is there. Everyone would want it to be perfect. We don't want to rush anything if there was to ever be anything. But all I know is the desire is there across the board.' In three years, it will have been five years since the show was released. So perhaps that could be a prime time to pop a reunion in the calendar? 'Maybe a five-year anniversary, [we could] get together and do a tour,' Sam said. 'Suki's now making her own music. Will Harrison was in the Bob Dylan biopic. Speaking to The Telegraph, actor Adrian Dunbar - aka Supt. Ted Hastings - was asked directly whether the show was returning. The Northern Irish actor replied: "Oh, it's definitely coming back. "Some time next year. We're just waiting for the BBC to announce it." He added: "I know Jed is writing. And Martin and Vicky are very keen." It comes as Adrian and co-star Martin Compston recently dropped massive hints about the show's return. The Sun exclusively revealed in April that the ratings hit would be returning for a long-awaited seventh outing in 2026, with filming starting in the first half of the year. Talking on the Nicky Byrne podcast, Martin was asked whether he'd be taking part in Sport Aid next May. "So hopefully next year we'll be back in Belfast and rattling around the town making a nuisance of ourselves. "The wheel is turning on that. It's just down to the BBC to make an announcement." Celebrity Gladiators confirms Strictly and I'm A Celeb stars for new special
BBC One's Gladiators will be back with a celebrity special later this year, with four huge stars taking part in the special hosted by hosts Bradley and Barney Walsh Gladiators has confirmed the new line-up for its celebrity special - and fans can expect famous faces from Strictly, I'm A Celebrity and Lorraine to take on the iconic challenges. The hit BBC One show will be back later this year with four new stars tackling Duel, The Wall and the legendary Eliminator challenges. The BBC announced today that fitness star Joe Wicks MBE and I'm A Me Out of Here! winner Sam Thompson will be taking part in Gladiators: Celebrity Special. They will be joined by boxer and Strictly alum Nicola Adams OBE as well as TV presenter Vogue Williams. Joe Wicks MBE says: 'Gladiators is one of the most iconic shows of all time, and I'm absolutely buzzing to be taking part. I grew up watching it, so to now step into the arena myself is going to be an incredible experience. I know it's going to be tough, but I'm ready to give it everything I've got." Meanwhile, Sam said that just when he's finished on challenge, he's onto the next. "Bring it on and get me up that travelator! But on a serious note, I genuinely can't wait to take part, I'm so excited. I grew up watching the show, so to now be taking on the Gladiators in real life is really cool," he said. Nicola admitted that she was "absolutely buzzing" to be taking part in the special, adding: "It's such an iconic show and growing up, I loved watching the epic battles and strong personalities. Now, getting the chance to step into that arena myself, it's a whole new kind of challenge. I may be a champion in the boxing ring, but this is different. I'm ready to give it everything I've got!" While Vogue added: "This is wild. I have loved this show since I was little and I'll be living out my childhood dream just stepping into the arena. But I can't quite process how I'll actually face these amazing Gladiators. I'm just delighted to be a contender!" They'll be taking on the likes of Apollo, Athena, Bionic, Comet, Cyclone, Diamond, Dynamite, Electro, Fire, Fury, Giant, Hammer, Legend, Nitro, Phantom, Sabre, Steel, and Viper - the Gladiators who will be returning to the physically-toned cast. The news comes just a month after the BBC announced that Gladiators would be back after the rating success of the last series. Hosted by Barney and Bradley Walsh, Gladiators will film once again at its Sheffield arena and promises to be hotter than ever.
