Brayshaw, Serong star as Dockers beat Crows in Perth
Brayshaw racked up 37 disposals, six clearances and 522m gained while Serong tallied 32 possessions and 10 clearances in Friday night's match as Fremantle posted a 12.13 (85) to 9.13 (67) win.
A bumper crowd of 53,048 turned up for Fremantle's annual Len Hall Tribute Game, with Brayshaw winning the inaugural Arthur Leggett Medal as best afield.
Dockers coach Justin Longmuir questioned his team's toughness in the wake of last week's shock 10-point loss to Melbourne.
But there was no doubting Fremantle's intent against the Crows, with players regularly putting themselves in harm's way for the good of the team.
Adelaide kicked 4.5 to 0.5 in the last quarter to add respectability to the scoreboard, but it was Fremantle who were the deserved winners.
The result improved the Dockers' record to 4-3. Adelaide are also 4-3, but have now lost three of their past four matches.
Crows forward Riley Thilthorpe managed to kick three goals despite suffering a major injury scare in the third quarter.
Thilthorpe headed to the rooms in pain after damaging an already-strapped finger on his left hand while attempting a mark.

A-League: Craig Goodwin to replace Ryan Kitto as Adelaide captain
Freshly appointed Adelaide United skipper Craig Goodwin is adamant Ryan Kitto's leadership will remain 'really important' at the Reds despite him being axed as club captain. Kitto will not only be without the captain's armband in Adelaide's 2025-26 A-League campaign, he also hasn't been included in the club's leadership group, which consists of Goodwin, veteran Dutchman Bart Vriends, and youngsters Panagiotis Kikianis and Ethan Alagich. The experienced left back took over the Reds captaincy from Goodwin when the Socceroos winger left the Reds in September 2023 to join Saudi Pro League club Al-Wehda. However, with Goodwin having rejoined Adelaide ahead of the new season, he will again captain the club, with Kitto no longer having any type of leadership role in a team that also has a new head coach, Airton Andrioli. 'It's a great honour and I'm really excited to wear the armband,' Goodwin said. 'It's been asked of me … and I'm very proud to lead this team.' Goodwin seemed confident that Kitto, who turns 31 on Saturday, would not be affected by being stripped of any official leadership position. 'He's a no-nonsense type of person. Fremantle Dockers to fly to South Australia the day before Port Adelaide clash amid change to routine
Fremantle have changed their travel routine for Saturday evening's game against Port Adelaide and decided to fly to South Australia on Friday to avoid an extra night away from home. The Dockers traditionally fly interstate two days before their games, arriving at their destination at night. The team then has meetings and a captain's run the day before the match and flies home straight after the game. But a 7.40pm start in South Australia means they need to stay overnight in Adelaide after the match. In an attempt to still spend only two nights away, the club has decided that their charter flight will leave Perth early on Friday and the squad will then hold the Captain's Run on the same day. Fremantle could face a similar scenario in the last game of the season with a strong possibility they will be scheduled to play against the Western Bulldogs in Victoria on the Sunday night. That match is looming as the last game of the round given it will have a massive impact on ladder positions. The Dockers stuck to their usual pre-game routine for a night game against St Kilda, got thrashed by 61 points and then lost at home the following week too after staying an extra night in Victoria. Fremantle have a six-day break before next week's home game against Brisbane and flying home on Sunday will also impact their preparation for that match. West Coast have flown interstate the day before night matches several times this season in an attempt to reduce their time away from home. Dockers defender Jordan Clark said some players had already decided to catch an earlier flight on Thursday so they could have their normal interstate routine, but he will be on the charter flight. 'I'm still travelling with the team. I prefer to stay an extra night in my own bed. I'm a bit of a home body,' he said. 'A few of the senior players have decided they want to go the night before. But whether it's landing late on a Thursday night or landing at 10 on a Friday morning, I don't think there's too much of a difference.'
