Stocks to buy or sell: Osho Krishan of Angel One suggests buying Latent View, Dhanuka Agritech shares today

Mint12 hours ago
Stock market today: The Indian stock markets started with upward momentum on Thursday, but investors remained wary due to concerns over the approaching US tariff deadline.
The Nifty 50 index commenced the day at 25,505.10, increasing by 51.70 points or 0.20%. In a similar fashion, the BSE Sensex opened at 83,540.74, reflecting a slight rise of 131.05 points or 0.16%.
Market analysts pointed out that although domestic elements are bolstering the market, global fluctuations, particularly uncertainties surrounding the US-India trade agreement, are making traders cautious.
On the technical front, Osho Krishan of Angel One believes the 25,300 level is anticipated to provide strong support for the Nifty 50. Krishan recommends two stocks to buy for today. Here's what he says about the overall market.
The Indian equity markets started the trading day with decent gains but struggled to sustain the gains and soon after underwent a gradual decline throughout the session. As the day drew to a close, a modest recovery in the benchmark index transpired during the penultimate hour, which mitigated some of the losses incurred earlier. Consequently, the Nifty 50 index concluded the trading day near the 24,450 zone, reflecting a 0.35% decrease.
The recent developments in key indices suggest a degree of uncertainty among market bulls, particularly in the wake of the recent breakout. The past few trading sessions have exhibited a notable lack of activity. Nevertheless, from a technical perspective, such occurrences can be regarded as beneficial, as they help to mitigate overheated technical conditions and create opportunities for new market entries. On the levels front, 25,300 is anticipated to act as a strong support, aligning with the 78.60% Fibonacci retracement, followed by the breakout zone of 25,250-25,200 in the coming period. On the flip side, 25,600 appears to act as an intermediate hurdle, followed by the sturdy wall of bearish gap around 25670-25740 in the comparable period.
Going forward, an increase in volatility is anticipated due to the weekly expiration of contracts, making robust risk management imperative. Furthermore, sectoral rotation is likely in play, keeping the trader fraternity occupied, and hence, a stock-centric approach is required to upbeat market performance.
On stocks to buy on Thursday, Osho Krishan of Angel One recommended two stocks - Latent View Analytics Ltd, and Dhanuka Agritech Ltd.
Latent View Analytics share price has observed a consolidation breakout, underpinned by substantial trading volumes at a critical support level marked by its clustered EMAs on the daily time frame chart. From a technical analysis standpoint, the ADX indicator is demonstrating an increase from the lower range, accompanied by a positive crossover in the 14-day RSI, indicating potential continued momentum. Consequently, from a risk-reward perspective, the stock appears to present a favourable investment opportunity for accumulation at the current levels.
Hence, we recommend to BUY Latent View Analytics share price around ₹ 420-415, keeping a stop loss of ₹ 395 for a potential Target of ₹ 460-470.
Dhanuka Agritech share price has been consolidating above its 20-day exponential moving average (DEMA) for the past few trading weeks, subsequent to a pronounced rally. Recently, the stock has begun to regain momentum, having surpassed its previous consolidation range, which indicates a fresh influx of buying interest. Moreover, most technical indicators are aligned positively with this trend, suggesting that the momentum is likely to persist in the forthcoming period.
Hence, we recommend to BUY Dhanuka Agritech share price around ₹ 1,700, keeping a stop loss of ₹ 1,640 for a potential Target of ₹ 1,800-1,820.

Trade Setup July 4: A decisive breakout past 25,580 could revive upward momentum

The Nifty index continued to face stiff resistance at higher levels on the weekly expiry session, closing 48 points lower at 25,405—down 0.19%—amid selling in financial heavyweights like Kotak Mahindra Bank and Bajaj Finserv. Despite the weakness in benchmark indices, broader markets displayed resilience, with the Nifty Midcap 100 inching up 0.03% and the Smallcap 100 gaining 0.26%. Sectoral trends were mixed, with Media, Consumer Durables, and Healthcare leading the gains, while PSU Bank, Metal, and Realty indices dragged. In standout performances, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Apollo Hospitals, and Hero MotoCorp managed solid gains. On the flip side, SBI Life, Kotak Bank, and Bajaj Finserv emerged as session laggards. Vedanta fell over 2% after reports surfaced that its demerger hit a potential snag at the NCLT. HDB Financial Services, recently listed on the bourses, extended its listing gains by rising another 6%, adding to its 13.5% debut surge. Meanwhile, foreign institutional investors turned net sellers in the cash market, while domestic investors were net buyers. Market sentiment remained cautious amid global uncertainty, especially with key US economic indicators—including jobless claims, payroll data, and services PMI—slated for release later in the day. Additionally, developments on US-India trade talks are being closely monitored. Siddharth Khemka of Motilal Oswal noted that markets may stay range-bound as investors adopt a wait-and-watch strategy. Nandish Shah of HDFC Securities observed that the Nifty is in a short-term corrective phase, with support at 25,317 and 25,222, while 25,600 remains a key hurdle. According to Rupak De of LKP Securities, the formation of an inside bar on the daily chart indicates indecision among traders. He emphasized that as long as the index holds within the 25,300–25,500 zone, sideways movement is likely to continue. Om Mehra of SAMCO Securities added that a sustained close above 25,260 would keep the bullish structure intact. A decisive breakout past 25,580 could revive upward momentum, with the next resistance targets at 25,740 and 25,850. The Nifty Bank index also ended lower at 56,791.95, down 0.36%. Mehra said the support zone lies between 56,300–56,400, and that any consolidation above 56,000 may set the stage for renewed upside. A break above 57,200 could signal strength and potential for fresh highs. Investors are advised to watch key levels closely and use the ongoing consolidation phase as a strategic opportunity for re-entry.

Noel Tata talks up Trent's grocery business as its next big Star

Bengaluru: Trent Ltd's grocery business, Star, holds the potential to become larger than the Tata Group-backed company's flagship fashion brands Zudio and Westside, chairman Noel Tata said on Thursday. 'This is only because the food market is much bigger than the market for clothing,' Tata said addressing shareholders at Trent's annual general meeting. 'So, we are convinced there's a huge opportunity there and with time you will see that we will deliver a big business in the food and grocery space as well.' Trent ended Thursday's trading session with a market capitalisation of ₹ 2,19,918.76 crore, which makes it the Tata Group's fourth-most valuable company, behind Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, Titan Co. Ltd, andTata Motors Ltd. Trent's focus on Star comes less than a year after Noel Tata's son Neville Tata, 32, was appointed as the business head of the grocery business. Star has accumulated over ₹ 1,000 crore in losses over the previous six years. Zudio, meanwhile, crossed the ₹ 8,300 crore revenue mark in 2024-25, while Westside generated ₹ 6,210 crore in revenue. Star, however, contributed about 15.2% to Trent's consolidated revenue in FY25, underscoring its growing weight in the company's overall portfolio. Star recorded its highest-ever revenue of ₹ 8,854 crore during the year, up nearly 25% from FY24. According to an analyst report by HDFC Securities Ltd, Trent plans to invest ₹ 2,000 crore in Trent Hypermarket Pvt. Ltd, which runs Star, this financial year. That would be nearly three times the ₹ 754 crore Trent has invested in its grocery business in nearly two decades, the brokerage firm said in a note dated June 27. Neol Tata did not comment on this at the AGM. Trent did not immediately reply to Mint's emailed queries. Trent shares ended Thursday's trading on NSE down 0.68% at ₹ 6,180.00 each, while the benchmark Nifty 50 index shed 0.19%. Trent's Star format store has prioritised focus on building in-house or private-label products. In the fourth quarter of FY25, private-label products accounted for 72% of Star's sales. Fresh produce and general merchandise together accounted for 50.5% of Star's product mix during the quarter. 'They (Star) are not growing aggressively at the moment,' said Pratik Prajapati, equity research analyst at financial advisory Ambit. 'The priority is chasing growth and making existing stores profitable before expanding further.' Trent's ambition for Star, however, comes at a time when quick-commerce firms likeSwiggy's Instamart, Zomato's Blinkit, and Zepto are upending how people, particularly in large cities, buy groceries. 'The format (Star) is facing tough competition in these markets, where speed and convenience are becoming as important as price,' said Prajapati. According to a February report by PwC and Hansa Research, quick-commerce in India grew at 73% in FY24, with over 90% of its demand concentrated in India's top eight cities. Blinkit, Zepto, and Instamart have made significant inroads in metropolitan cities, where 42% of consumers prefer instant deliveries for essentials such as packaged food and personal care products, it said. Noel Tata, who is credited with building Zudio and Westside, was appointed chair of Tata Trusts in October following the passing of Ratan Tata. Tata Trusts is the umbrella entity that oversees the functioning of all the philanthropic entities of Tatas, including the seven Tata Trusts that together own 65.9% of Tata Sons. Tata Sons, headed by chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran, is the group's operating company and owns shares in 26 Tata companies, including Trent, TCS, and Tata Motors.
