McDonald's fans fume after 'best' item quietly axed from menu

McDonald's has quietly axed the "best" menu item, and fans are fuming. The fast food chain has confirmed that it's taken off the Chicken Bacon Caesar Wrap from its menu.
The wrap was first introduced back in the summer of 2023 and consists of chicken breast strips - either fried or grilled - crispy onions, rashers of bacon and lettuce, wrapped in a soft tortilla. The item quickly became a firm favourite with fans saying it was "perfect for lunch".

McDonald's discontinued the item earlier this month as part of a "rotation" of its menu, which the brand is known to do every few months.

A spokesperson told the Sun: "As part of our regular wrap rotation, we've taken the Caesar wrap off the menu for now. We're always evolving our menu with our customers in mind to keep things fresh and exciting."
As McDonald's is known for shaking up the menu every few months, often discontinued items do make a return. That means there is a chance the Chicken Caesar Wrap could come back in the future.

Fans of the wrap took to social media to question where it had gone earlier this month. Posting on Reddit, one fan said: "Where has it gone? Please don't tell me it's discontinued. It's the best one of them all!"
Another chipped in: "What the hell?! Why's this not been publicised anywhere. It was the best one of all of them. I can't believe they've decided to go with the Katsu over it. How can I complain."
A third added: "It was the only good one in this current line up, I'll gladly die in (sic) this hill."

This month, McDonald's added several new items to its menu for spring, as well as brought back a few fan favourites. Maccies intrododuced a new frozen Cherry Lemonade which is described as a tangy frozen lemonade with a sweet cherry flavoured swirl.

The McSpicy X Frank's RedHot made a grand return this month. The burger contains a chicken breast in a hot and crispy coating, topped with lettuce, cheese made with Emmental, jalapenos, slivered onions, and Frank's RedHot Mayo. The SteakHouse Stack also came back alongside its Biscoff McFlurry and Biscoff Frappe.

The fast food chain also started a new Breakfast Savers Menu across the north of England in May. The menu includes a brand new Sausage Sandwich (£1.99) and a savers version of the popular Bacon Roll (£2.19).
Some selected McDonald's restaurants across the North will also offer a new Breakfast Bundle Deal which comes with a Saver Bacon Roll or Sausage Sandwich, plus a drink, for £2.99. If successful, it could be rolled out to more McDonald's stores across the UK.

July's full Buck Moon is visible in the sky tonight and this is the best time to see it

July's full Buck Moon is visible in the sky tonight and this is the best time to see it It will be the seventh full moon of the year and it will be visible from the UK The full buck moon seen in 2023 (Image: PA ) The seventh full moon of the year will illuminate the night sky this evening. Known as the 'buck moon', it follows on from June's 'strawberry moon'. Every month the moon's stages are followed closely by astronomers and every full moon of the year has its own informal nickname. Many of the names are thought to originate from Native American culture. Royal Museums Greenwich (RMG) has explained the reason behind the name of this particular moon. They state that male deer, which shed their antlers every year, begin to regrow them in July, hence the Native American name for July's full moon. Although some refer to this moon as the thunder moon, due to the summer storms in this month. Other names include the hay moon, after the July hay harvest, reports Liverpool Echo. According to RMG, in the UK you'll be able to see this year's Buck Moon on July 10 at 9.37pm. Similar to last month's strawberry moon, which was the lowest-lying full moon in more than 18 years, July's Buck Moon will also sit unusually low in the sky. Not only will the buck moon lie close to the horizon, but it will also be the farthest full Moon from the Sun all year. Article continues below The full moon occurs when the earth aligns perfectly between the sun and the moon, causing the side of the moon facing us to be fully illuminated by sunlight. Full moons are visible from sunset to sunrise, with 100% of the moon's face lit up by the sun, although some moons may appear less bright from our perspective. A full moon rises around sunset and sets around sunrise. The moon will appear full for a couple of days before it moves into a waning gibbous stage. As the Moon begins its journey back toward the sun, the opposite side of the moon now reflects the moon's light. The buck moon will work its way across the southern part of the sky throughout the night, setting in the southwest in the early hours around dawn. The 2025 buck moon will be a low-hanging full moon. The moon will be will be inside the teapot asterism (pattern or group of stars in the sky), which is located within Sagittarius. Article continues below The buck moon may appear orange, but this will be due to your perspective from earth when observing it, rather than the moon itself. states that the reason the moon will look so low in the sky this month is: "down to its proximity to the summer solstice, when the sun is at its highest in the daytime sky, and the Moon tracks a correspondingly low path through the night."
