Rebel Wilson wants her Pitch Perfect character to get married in new movie
Rebel Wilson is hoping her Pitch Perfect character Fat Amy will get married in the next movie.
The actress played Amy in the original film and two sequels and she's hoping a fourth movie will begin filming next year and she's revealed her big hope for the project is for her character to find love and walk down the aisle.
When asked about what's next for Fat Amy, Rebel told Variety: "I think there should be a wedding."
Rebel also suggested that one of the castmembers could move into the director's chair for the fourth film. She explained: "There's a lot of us who are directors now.
"There are many candidates – Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Kay Cannon, who is the original writer and Elizabeth Banks, so we'll see. I'm about to direct another movie, so that keeps me busy until early next year. Hopefully, it'll [Pitch Perfect 4] go into production next year.'
Rebel opened up about her hopes for the new film while she was promoting her latest project Bride Hard, which reteamed her with her Pitch Perfect co-star Anna Camp - and Rebel admitted their real life friendship helped them onscreen.
She said: "We play a slightly different dynamic in this movie. In Pitch Perfect, she's very uptight, and I'm more the –what we call in comedy– the wavy line.
"In this one [Bride Hard], because I'm an operative, I'm more the straight line, and she's the wavy line, playing kind of a ditzy bride. It's good to switch of our dynamics.
"You can tell in the movie that we're such good friends. There's just good camaraderie. We shot this during the writer's strike, so some of the scenes weren't quite written. But because we were besties, we could play that and improvise that quite well."
Rebel previously admitted she went into "beast mode" in preparation for Bride Hard by embarking on an intense fitness plan.
She told People: "I often put my body on the line for physical comedy." The actress pushed herself to her physical limits in preparation for the new movie.
However, Rebel actually enjoyed the challenge of getting herself in tip-top shape for Bride Hard.
She said: "I was pretty strong during this movie. I trained for a full five weeks and did conditioning for it, and then I had to be really kind of in beast mode, but I really enjoyed it, getting paid to almost be fit, which is really good."
Rebel uses curling irons like nunchucks in the new movie, and she admitted taking inspiration from movie icon Jackie Chan.
She told the publication: "When I lived in South Africa, basically to pass the time I would watch Jackie Chan videos and his comic timing, and I just loved all the movies. Even if they weren't subtitled and I couldn't even understand the dialogue, I just loved all his comedy-action scenes.
"They were so good. So I guess that's why I originally picked up nunchucks, to try to be a bit like Jackie Chan."

Barbra Streisand loves being with grandchildren
Barbra Streisand finds it "joyous" to be with her grandchildren. The 83-year-old actress - whose stepson Josh Brolin is dad to Trevor, 37, Eden, 32, Westlyn, six, and four-year-old Chapel and stepdaughter has three-year-old Soli - admitted her latest album, 'The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two', was inspired by the pleasure she takes in being surrounded by family. Barbra - who has son Jason, 58, with ex-husband Elliott Gould and is married to James Brolin - told People magazine:"I had asked my daughter-in-law, who's also a photographer, to bring the children over and take some pictures with me. The kids were walking toward me, and I was standing behind a screen door, and I said, 'Oh Kathryn, take this picture right now.' "The point is, the feeling whenever they're here is just joyous. It's very, very special... "It's wonderful to have family. And that's how The Secret of Life title came — [the secret] is several things, but one of them is family," The album is Barbra's first in almost seven years, and features duets with the likes of Sir Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan and Tim McGraw, but the Funny Girl star admitted she wasn't sure she was up to recording after the extensive process of recording the audiobook version of her memoir xx left her "hoarse". She said: "I hadn't sung in a long time so I didn't know if I had a voice left." But Barbra has no plans to give up her career and she still particularly loves recording new music. She said: "As long as I have a voice, I love the privacy of recording. "I love standing there in front of the mic with the music in my ears and singing, and there are more songs I want to sing. And I even have my original list of songs I've wanted to sing [since I was 18 years old]." Barbra began her career when she was 13 years old and she'd advise her younger self to trust her instincts. Asked what she'd have told her younger self, she said: "I'd tell her, 'Believe in yourself, believe in your choices. Believe in what you hear, what you feel.' I did it instinctively."

'It is incredibly freeing': Lauren Chan is a lot more comfortable after coming out as a lesbian
Lauren Chan is "much more comfortable" since coming out. The 34-year-old model came out as a lesbian in a 2023 article for Sports Illustrated and admits that no longer being in the "male gaze" has lifted a weight from her shoulders. Lauren told People magazine: "I'm so much more comfortable in myself. In coming out, I've ditched the male gaze, and it is incredibly freeing because I used to perceive myself in the way that the patriarchy wants us to consider women. If I had a part of my body that made me insecure based on the beauty ideal, it would ruin my entire sense of self. "Since being in the female gaze, I've realised that that doesn't exist. I fully believe that the way I show up to represent women does not always have to be flattering. Some of my favourite work is about making the body look relaxed or bigger. It's healing in a lot of ways. Bigger bodies are artful too." Lauren - who founded the plus-size clothing brand Henning - appeared in the famous Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue earlier this year and is delighted that the publication gave her the opportunity to silence cruel trolls. She said: "Women are everything to me, literally. "This year, for Sports Illustrated, I got to write an essay for the print edition called 'For The Girls'. The essay is about the fact that I am not asking for permission to take up space. I'm taking it. "The essay and cover both came about after a man trolled me on my Instagram when Sports Illustrated Swimsuit announced my return to the issue with a picture. "The person said, 'Who are we even doing this for? Women? This doesn't make any sense.' I'm so glad that happened. I love my trolls because they give me an opportunity to educate, so bring it on." Lauren is set to marry her partner, film director Hayley Kosan, later this year and revealed that she entered her "bridal era" after her Sports Illustrated cover appearance gave her wedding "vibes". She said: "Engaged life is great. My (swimsuit photoshoot) looks are giving bridal (vibes). There was tulle, there was beading, there were pearls. "I'm very much in my bridal era, and I'm really excited about that. It's been really comforting and celebratory. I'm not at all ashamed of choosing a new path for myself. I feel really calm and comforted."
