On the afternoon of Wednesday, July 17, an off-duty deputy saw an abandoned boat in the Three Mile Bay area of Oneida Lake before discovering the bodies of what appeared to be two men, ABC affiliate WSYR, Oswego County News Now and Syracuse.com reported. The deputy called in the sighting to the Oswego County Sheriff's Office.
'As they searched around, waiting for on-duty deputies to arrive, they discovered two adult male bodies in the water,' Oswego County Sheriff Don Hilton told Oswego County News Now.
While an investigation into the incident is ongoing, investigators told WSYR that there were no signs of foul play.
The two men have not been identified at this time.
The Oswego County Sheriff's Office and Oswego County District Attorney's Office, which also serves as the local coroner's office, did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's requests for comment.

Oneida Lake is the largest lake to lie entirely within New York State.
Just 10 miles north of Syracuse, it was named for the Oneida Nation, a member of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. 'The Oneida people call the lake Tsioqui or 'white water',' according to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, 'a reference to the wave action on the lake on windy days.'

Alexander's funeral service was held on Saturday, July 19, according to an online obituary. The teen was remembered as an active member of his community, for working at a local restaurant, attending youth group at his church and for being an avid golfer, both at school and at his country club. Alexander, a hunter, ATV rider and traveler, "enjoyed music, but only the first 30 seconds of a song," the obituary added. "Above all else, Truston was ... respectful, witty, knowledgeable, adventurous, duck hunt lovin', golf playin', and has that country boy charm," it continued. "He never met a stranger, and if you were lucky enough for him to let you in ... he loved big." San Francisco rescue crews help person in distress near Ferry Building pier
Rescue crews in San Francisco helped a person who was in the water near the Ferry Building pier on Saturday, the San Francisco Fire Department said. Around 9:30 a.m., the Fire Department, police, and the U.S. Coast Guard were called to the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero for a person in distress. San Francisco Fire said the adult was off the pier, and rescue swimmers and ground units were deployed to help. Rescue Boats 35 and 1 also responded to the scene. Someone on a Bay ferry threw a life preserver ring to the person, and rescue swimmers and the boats eventually arrived and helped get them out of the water. San Francisco Fire said the adult was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
