PM affirms presidential directives to boost education quality
Madbouly noted the government is increasing public investments in the education sector, focusing on classroom expansion, school upgrades, and digital integration.
Special attention is being given to modern fields like artificial intelligence and digital skills, which are in high demand in today's labor market, he noted.
During a meeting with Education and Technical Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif, Madbouli reviewed plans for the FY 2025–2026 education budget, which includes expanding technical schools, reducing class densities, and developing applied technology schools in partnership with the private sector.
The minister added that efforts are ongoing to align education with job market needs by producing skilled graduates.
He also shared outcomes from his recent participation in the Human Capability Initiative conference in Riyadh and a proposal to launch a Google-applied technology school in Egypt.
The minister added that inspection visits to schools in several governorates are ongoing to ensure consistent learning outcomes across the country. (MENA)

CAIRO, July 3 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty participated Thursday in a virtual session held by the African Union (AU) Peace and Security Council (PSC) at the ministerial level to follow up on developments in Somalia and discuss latest updates on transition from the AU Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) to the AU Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM). Meantime, Abdelatty voiced Egypt's concern over the ongoing security challenges posed by terrorist groups, particularly Al-Shabaab, stressing the importance of ensuring a smooth and coordinated transition from ATMIS to AUSSOM. All steps are essential for preserving the security gains achieved so far and preventing security gaps that could be exploited, he added. The foreign minister underlined the importance of providing regular and sustainable funding for the AUSSOM to enable it to fully carry out its mandate, warning that failure to secure adequate funding would undermine the mission's ability to perform its tasks and negatively affect the entire Horn of Africa and the international community, including disrupting global maritime trade routes and increasing terrorist threats. In conclusion, Abdelatty emphasized Egypt's commitment to supporting Somalia at both bilateral and multilateral levels through capacity-building programs, training personnel, supporting security and civil institutions and contributing to the provision of humanitarian assistance. CAIRO, July 4 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Badr Abdelatty on Thursday discussed over the phone with his Norwegian counterpart, Espen Barth Eide, the latest regional developments. During the phone call, Abdelatty commended the notable progress achieved in the political and economic ties between Egypt and Norway. Abdelatty stressed the importance of building on the outcomes of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Norway in December 2024, underlining the need to convene the next round of bilateral political consultations to implement the memorandum of understanding establishing a formal dialogue mechanism between the two countries. Regarding the situation in Gaza, the Egyptian foreign minister expressed appreciation for Norway's steadfast support of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. He also briefed minister Eide on Egypt's continued coordination with Qatar and the United States to accelerate efforts toward reaching a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. Abdelatty also underscored Egypt's ongoing preparations to host an international conference on early recovery and reconstruction in the Gaza Strip, to be convened following the establishment of a ceasefire and with wide-ranging international participation. OPEN// Gov't: National natural gas network supplies stable
CAIRO, July 3 (MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli met Thursday with Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi to review the latest developments regarding integrating Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs) into the national natural gas network to enhance energy security and meet summer demand. During the meeting, Badawi shed light on the progress made so far in the preparation of the floating regasification units berthed at Egyptian ports. These units receive, regasify, and inject imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) directly into the national grid, supporting power plants and other essential sectors, he said. He affirmed that all relevant national entities and companies are cooperating to ensure the security and sustainability of natural gas supplies to all state sectors across the country. Badawi added that petroleum sector companies have already completed all required works, preparations, and technical tests ahead of schedule at the marine berths of Arab Petroleum Pipelines Company or SUMED and Sonker ports in Ain Sokhna, in preparation for accommodating the floating units. The premier also discussed with the petroleum minister the natural gas supply procedures for power generation stations nationwide to prevent any electricity outages.
