Andrew Cavenagh delivers bold 10-year Rangers vow at EGM
The US investor, who partnered with 49ers Enterprises to land the 51 per cent takeover deal, addressed those in attendance at the Doubletree by Hilton near Glasgow Central.
Describing Ibrox as a "castle" and "magical place", Cavenagh gushed at the life-changing phone call back in October, which led to his involvement at Ibrox.
He then vowed he, and Marathe, along with the new leadership team, would not throw money at Rangers, win one title and then disappear.
Instead, Cavenagh promised to make Rangers self-sustainable while also delivering league titles, cup trophies and competing on the European front.
The businessman then insisted he envisions leading the club not for one year but for at least a decade as he received a warm round of applause for his remarks from impressed shareholders in the room.

"The passion of the fans is the number one thing I love about this club," said Cavenagh, who started his speech by joking he'd stand instead of sitting as to avoid beginning his tenure in a low block.
"Number two would be Ibrox. It's our castle and a magical place to be.
"Our ambition is to put the team in a position to win the league and compete in Europe.
"We're not here to throw money, win a title and go off into the sunset. We are here for the long term.
"Resources, people and a plan - the three most important things going forward."

And it's fair to say Fifa's glitzy new-look tournament has more than divided opinion. Although the tournament has been around for some time, this is the first time it's taken place in it's current format with 32 teams taking part across a month-long competition. Bayern Munich, Chelsea, PSG, Palmeiras and Real Madrid are among the teams still standing with the round of 16 almost complete. While there's been plenty of great football on show, the competition has been heavily criticised. Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has branded it 'the worst idea ever' in relation to the strain being put on players. The Premier League winner highlighted concerns over the fact players participating would get 'no real recovery' with the Club World Cup taking place between the end of last season and the start of the next one. Those sentiments have been echoed across the board. The weather has also proved a problem, with several games heavily delayed. On Saturday night, Chelsea beat Benfica 4-1 after extra time in in Charlotte, North Carolina. But the last 16 clash took more than FOUR HOURS to complete after a two-hour weather delay. "It's not football, it's completely something new. I struggle to understand. "I can understand if it's security reasons but if you suspend seven or eight games then it's probably not the right place to do the competition. "It's not normal to suspend the game. In a World Cup, how many games are suspended? Zero probably. In Europe how many games get suspended? Zero." Someone else who isn't a fan of the competition is Ally McCoist. The Rangers legend was back on talkSPORT Breakfast duties today after a bit of time away - time away that included a gruelling charity cycle across Ireland. Those other endeavours meant McCoist didn't have much time to sit in front of the telly to watch the football - but he's admitted he didn't really have any interest in doing so anyway. Responding to Klopp's brutal comments, McCoist said: "I'm not sure I'd go that far but he's certainly against it. "I'll be brutally honest, I haven't watched it. "I know I've been busy, away cycling and all that stuff. "I'll be honest with you, my boys are watching it, particularity the younger one and I'll watch it now. "I watched the highlights of the Chelsea game, I watched Harry Kane's goals last night. "I'm probably a little bit embarrassed to say, now it's got to the quarter finals, last 16, I will take an interest but I didn't have any interest, seemingly about a million empty seats of people agreed with me." Asked if his new-found interest in the Club World Cup would see him getting up at 2am to watch Man City's clash with Al Hilal tonight, McCoist said: "No. I'll take an interest in the result in that one. "There's been a lot of things. The weather, the times of the kick-offs, I don't care what anybody says, it does affect your interest." Celtic transfer bulletin as Hayato Inamura breaks cover, new Balikwisha stance emerges and clock ticks on £9m defender
The Albirex Niigata defender appears to have played his last game for the J-League side Albirex Niigata defender Hayato Inamura has addressed his future as he closes in a move to Celtic. The left-sided centre back only joined Albi last summer and has made 15 league appearances in Japan's top tier - but is set for a switch to the Scottish Premiership with his side currently in the midst of a relegation battle. Reports in Japan claim that the 23-year-old is set to become Brendan Rodgers ' fourth summer signing as he follows Kieran Tierney, Ross Doohan and Benjamin Nygren in the Celtic Park door. And having played what could be his final game for his current club against Machida Zelvia, the towering 6ft defender opened up on his plans for the next step. He said: "Japan's a big motivation for me because that's what I'm aiming for. But even with that in mind, I still have a long way to go. I want to keep my feet on the ground and do my best." Michel-Ange Balikwisha appears to be moving back up the Parkhead agenda - but the rules are rapidly shifting for the Royal Antwerp winger. Reports in Belgium had suggested the club were open to lowering their asking price for the 24-year-old to around £4.6million with Antwerp in need of a financial boost. But after warnings from CEO Sven Jaecques that the club would not allow an "exodus", now boss Stef Wils reckons they can keep the key man at the club. He told Belgian media: 'Of course I want to keep him. I also think that it can work.' Red Star Belgrade defender Veljko Milosavljevic is also said to be on the agenda - amid claims that a £5.1million bid has been rejected. The Serbian side are reportedly holding out for a £9million fee - but Mozzart Sport claim that the club are open to a quick-fire sale. It is claimed the club have told the 17-year-old where they stand with the "clock ticking" on his time at Red Star amid interest from Everton and PSG alongside the Hoops.
