Man slashes woman's throat on bus then walks off, Oklahoma police say
Around 1:09 p.m. Aug. 3, police were called for reports of a stabbing, according to a Facebook post from the Tulsa Police Department.
According to police, 42-year-old Robert J. Rhoades and a 43-year-old woman both got on the bus at a Walmart stop. Rhoades then sat in the seat behind the woman.
The two had no interactions and didn't speak to each other, police said.
When the bus arrived at the main station, Rhoades reached around and sliced the woman's throat before getting off the bus and walking away, according to police.
When officers arrived, they found Rhoades close by with blood on his clothes and a bloody knife in his pocket, officials said.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene because of how severe the woman's injuries were, but doctors remain hopeful she will recover after she underwent surgery.
Rhoades was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and false impersonation, as well as a warrant out of Missouri.
Police have not said what led to the assault, but they are recovering surveillance footage from the bus and have spoken with multiple witnesses.

Online scam uses fake ICE raids at Target and Walmart to steal personal data
A new online scam is exploiting fears surrounding immigration raids. If your 'For You' page on TikTok has recently shown videos of alleged former Target or Walmart employees claiming they were fired—or even deported—by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), it's a scam. These viral clips, which often rack up millions of views, typically feature young people in retail uniforms and carry clickbait captions like 'ICE deportations at Target' and 'Fired from Walmart.' Others make similar claims about popular chains like Taco Bell, Lululemon, McDonald's, and Crumbl Cookies. However, a recent investigation by the Daily Dot revealed that these videos are part of a coordinated effort to harvest users' personal data. One post reads: 'Target really had ICE waiting after my shift. They just fired me like I was nothing.' The post continues: 'So here's everything I wasn't supposed to say.' What are the supposed 'secrets' these accounts are exposing? Many feature bizarre or nonsensical claims. One video says: 'We're forced to listen to Walmart Radio every shift. Most of us hide our AirPods, but if you get caught, you're in big trouble. Everyone knows about the 'Walmart Groove.' Look it up.' If you're confused, that's the point. The Daily Dot suggests these may be AI -generated hallucinations, possibly inspired by the 'Walmart Shuffle,' a song commissioned by Walmart in 2019. UPDATE: Man of interest in custody for suspected arson in Sangamon Tower fire
UPDATE at 1:25 p.m. SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — A man has been taken into custody for a suspected arson that may have caused the fire at the Sangamon Tower, according to Springfield's Fire Chief. Decatur emergency agencies respond to vacant healthcare facility fire Springfield Fire Chief Nick Zummo confirmed with WCIA that a man has been taken into custody as a 'person of interest' for a suspected arson that caused this fire. Additionally, two people were taken to a local hospital and treated for minor burns. A third person at the scene also experienced a 'medical incident,' but it is unclear at this time if this was a result of the fire. Zummo said that only a few residents were displaced as a result of this fire. Even though an arrest has been made, the official cause of the fire is still under investigation. SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — At least one person was injured in a fire at the Sangamon Tower in Springfield Wednesday morning, and agencies also responded to a related vehicle accident. In a pair of Facebook posts, the Springfield Fire Department and Springfield Fire Fighters Local 37 said they were responding to a fire at that building, which is near Carpenter Street. The initial engine on the scene with Springfield firefighters began an offensive attack from the nearest stairwell in the building. Champaign announces street closure for phase 3 of Garden Hills Project There was also a related vehicle accident in this area. The structure fire was later upgraded to a Code 2 for more personnel and was designated Code 4 by an attack crew on scene. Sprinklers were activated and there will be an extensive overhaul of the structure. One person has been reported injured as a result of this incident, and people are still being asked to avoid or use caution in the area. Four fire trucks responded to the fire as well as the Springfield Police Department, and the fire trucks left the scene at approximately 10:35 a.m. There is no further information available at this time.
