Harvey's little library was filled to the brim as almost 100 people packed in to for tea and biscuits for a cause on Thursday.
The crowds came together in the Harvey War Memorial Library to take part in the Biggest Morning Tea in a bid to raise money for the Cancer Council WA.
With music performed by the Harvey Ukulele Group Strummers, platters of food and an auction to win major awards were on offer.
Shire president Michelle Campbell said it was outstanding to have so many come people together to raise money for cancer research.
'This is a fabulous cause,' she said.
'We've been on many journeys with our family members dealing with cancer, and I'm sure there's lots in the room that have known someone, or have personally been on that journey with cancer as well.'
Cr Campbell thanked the community for turning up in force, and bringing several platters of food for everyone to share.
'Everybody has contributed so much today,' she said.
After enjoying the spread of food, the community took part in an auction hosted by Harvey shire councillor and auctioneer Tiny Holly.
Library special projects manager Ruth Campbell-Hicks said there was more than $2000 worth of items on action all of which had been donated from local business and community members.
'I've got a great big, long list of people, which I won't go through, but suffice it to say, just about every business in town has given us something which is really amazing,' she said.

Def Leppard's Vivian Campbell in remission after lengthy battle with Hodgkin's lymphoma

Def Leppard's Vivian Campbell is "completely clean" of cancer. The 62-year-old rocker was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2013, and after taking some time out to recover from treatment, he returned to the stage with the Pour Some Sugar On Me band in May. After undergoing some "hardcore chemotherapy" and a successful bone marrow transplant, Campbell has revealed his PET scan in April showed no signs of cancer. Speaking on SiriusXM's Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, he said: "I've been very lucky, actually. I got an early diagnosis for Hodgkin's lymphoma 13 years ago, 12 years ago, something like that. [I went] through the mill with all sorts of chemo and immunotherapy and combination therapies, and 10 years ago I did an autologous stem cell transplant, which means using my own stem cells. That didn't work. The cancer kept coming back, and then a couple of years ago, it really got bad. So it was the first time in having to deal with it that I was seriously concerned about it. And the doctors told me really my only chance for of cure was to do a donor transplant. And that's exactly what I did. Starting last summer during our tour, I started doing more chemo in preparation for it. And then right after the tour, they started giving me very hardcore chemo leading up to the transplant. I was supposed to start after Thanksgiving, and I lost my donor 10 days beforehand. So that was a kick in the nuts. But I was very fortunate that they found me another one in December. And on New Year's Eve, I went into hospital. I was in for about three and a half weeks, and I did what has turned out to be a really, really successful transplant. So I did a PET scan in the middle of April and I'm a hundred percent clean, completely in remission for the first time in 12 or 13 years. And I am obviously overjoyed. You couldn't ask for more than that." The guitarist hopes to buy his donor a beer one day to thank him for saving his life. He said: "A young man, actually. I don't get to know who he is for a couple of years, but a 21-year-old man. And they always prefer a youthful donor. Obviously, I'm gonna buy him a beer — or two or three." Campbell underwent immunotherapy treatment and was part of a clinical trial for the medication pembrolizumab amid his battle with the disease. Speaking on the Lymphoma Voices podcast in 2023, he said: "I'm still dealing with the lymphoma. "It's sort of like – it's an American expression – Whac-a-Mole. You beat something back and then it pops up somewhere else. But it's been a pretty consistent battle, but it hasn't been too difficult for me. I deal with it fine. I've been able to live my life. "For the bulk of those 10 years, I actually was doing immunotherapy. Starting in June of 2015, I started taking a drug called pembrolizumab. I remember at the time my doctors wanted me to do radiation and maybe a combination of radiation and chemo. And I just thought, 'Well, let's just try this immunotherapy thing. Let's see if this works.' So I managed to get on the trial. I'm happy to say that it worked well for me."

Entertainer's haven: Cinema, games lounge and resort-style pool

A Sovereign Islands stunner boasts some serious entertainer's credentials courtesy of painstaking redesign that's all about the indoor-outdoor lifestyle. Boasting 27m of waterfrontage and views to the Coomera River, 86 Royal Albert Cres has undergone an extensive renovation by owners Glenn and Riki Campbell, who purchased the property in 2022. Back then, the home had 'great bones' but was in need of a modern makeover, so the Campbells set to work redesigning the residence with a family friendly layout and the entertainer's lifestyle front of mind. 'It was in need of reconfiguring and modernising,' Mr Campbell said. 'We wanted it to be an entertainer's house, so we reconfigured the whole backyard and pool area to make it more family friendly, including removing concrete sections and adding bi-fold doors across the entire back of the house to allow it to open up. 'We also shifted the home cinema downstairs and turned the kitchen around to make it an open plan working area.' The result is an immaculately renovated five-bedroom, five-bathroom home with an all-new look and some ultra-luxe features. Spanning three levels, the residence is designed to give occupants their own space but also brings people together, with the upper level dedicated to relaxation. The spacious master suite has its own dressing room and ensuite and enjoys access to a large balcony with water views. The top storey also features three additional bedrooms which all boast their own ensuites and walk-in robes, while on the ground level, it's all about entertaining. The cinema, games lounge and open plan living, dining, and kitchen area all interconnect, while bi-fold doors bring the outside in and allow for easy access to a covered outdoor entertaining area with its own built-in barbecue. 'We spend a lot of time in that outdoor barbecue area,' Mr Campbell said. 'It overlooks the water and is right next to the pool, with great views across to the Coomera River.' The ground floor also offers a second lounge area with balcony, along with an office that doubles as a guest suite courtesy of a concealed Murphy bed. 'It's a fabulous family home and we do a lot of entertaining,' Mr Campbell said. 'Whether it's a birthday, Christmas or a family gathering, everything tends to gravitate to our house because it's open plan and easy to entertain in.' Meanwhile, there's also the bonus of a huge basement beneath the home, which accommodates up to seven cars, and the property boasts a large boat pontoon where you can moor a 65ft boat. 'It's a very convenient location for boating,' Mr Campbell said. 'It's bridge free and in two minutes you can be on the Broadwater where you can access all the great locations on the Gold Coast.' Situated in a private Sovereign Islands estate, the property offers easy access to Paradise Point's cafes, restaurants, shops, and parklands, and is just 15 minutes from the village atmosphere and world-class golf courses of Sanctuary Cove. Following on from the success of their Sovereign Island's renovation, the Campbells are now set to embark on another project and have listed their home for sale with Ivy Wu and Isaac Kim of Ivy Realty Gold Coast.
