A vehicle colliding with a motorcycle on Highway 54 in Haldimand County has led to serious injuries of the motorcycle rider.
The vehicle made a turn in the path of the rider. The highway was closed between McKinnon Road and Mines Road while police investigated, but is now reopened.

THE CANADIAN PRESS/Darryl Dyck Manitoba RCMP says a third person has died following a two-vehicle crash in western Manitoba on Canada Day. The crash occurred on Highway 10 at approximately 3:30 p.m., about three kilometres north of Bowsman. RCMP believe a vehicle being driven south on Highway 10 near Road 224 veered over the highway line and hit a stationary vehicle on the eastern edge of the highway, causing a rollover. RCMP reported Wednesday that a 42-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman died in hospital. They have been identified as Brendan Berg, the bassist for Winnipeg band Royal Canoe, along with his partner Olivia Michalczuk. A 36-year-old man from Winnipeg who was driving the southbound vehicle and a 29-year-old passenger from Swan River were both hospitalized with critical injuries. On Thursday, RCMP said the 29-year-old passenger died from his injuries. The driver has been upgraded to stable condition. On July 2 at 9:19 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop Highway 3 in Leamington. A 27-year-old Chatham resident was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences: Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs Failure of refusal to comply with demand Dangerous operation Resist Peace Officer On July 1 at 9:46 p.m., officers responded to a collision on Erie Street South at Russell Street in Leamington. A 60-year-old Leamington man was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences: Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) On June 28 at 1:05 a.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle collision on County Road 14 in Leamington. A 21-year-old Leamington driver was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences: Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) On June 27 at 1:44 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Tecumseh Road East in Tecumseh. A 21-year-old Lasalle man was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences: Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs Dangerous Operation Failure of refusal to comply with demand Red Light - Fail to Stop Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero Young driver - B.A.C. above zero On June 27 at 3:20 p.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint on Manning Road near Highway 3 in Lakeshore. A 70-year-old Windsor man was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act, and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act offences: Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) Driving while under suspension Operate a motor vehicle without insurance On June 26 at 9:19 p.m., police responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 77 in Leamington. A 34-year-old Wheatley man was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences: Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) For all of the drivers, a 90-day Administrative Driver's License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused drivers were scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Windsor to answer to the charges.
