Finance minister participates in launch of 'All of the Gulf is One Nation' campaign

KUWAIT: Minister of Finance HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari has participated in the launch of 'All of the Gulf is One Nation' campaign, a unified media initiative led by the GCC General Secretariat.
The campaign aims to raise awareness of the rights and entitlements enjoyed by GCC citizens across all member states, reflecting the spirit of shared Gulf citizenship.
Commenting on the launch, Al Kuwari said it "reflects the spirit of cooperation among GCC countries and helps raise awareness among Gulf citizens of their rights and opportunities in various fields".
Meanwhile, GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi said the campaign "embodies the vision of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC in building a unified Gulf system based on the principles of justice and equality".
"It reflects a firm commitment to strengthening Gulf brotherhood and consolidating the foundations of unity and integration among our peoples."
The campaign highlights the equal opportunities and benefits available to citizens of the GCC states across various economic and social sectors. These include the freedom of movement and residence, the right to engage in economic and investment activities, and access to healthcare and education services without discrimination—all of which contribute to a shared sense of belonging and a unified Gulf identity.
The campaign was officially announced during the 123rd meeting of the GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee, held in the State of Kuwait. The meeting was chaired by Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment of the State of Kuwait HE Engineer Noora Sulaiman Al Fassam, with the attendance of Their Excellencies the Ministers of Finance and Economy from the member states, along with the participation of the Secretary-Generalofthe GCC.
The media campaign will run for six months across all GCC countries as part of a comprehensive media strategy aimed at reinforcing the concept of Gulf citizenship, showcasing the tangible achievements, and increasing awareness of the rights and opportunities available to citizens under the framework of comprehensive GCC cooperation.

Minister of Finance HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, representing the State of Qatar, and President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), Jin Liqun signed the agreement for hosting the 2026 Annual Meeting, on the margin of the the Annual Meeting of the AIIB, taking place in Beijing, China. In his speech during the signing ceremony, the Minister stated: "Our capital stands out as a hub for global dialogue and cooperation, and we look forward to welcoming you with Qatari warmth, professionalism, and a deep respect for the multilateral values that unite us." He highlighted the importance of leveraging this event to foster international dialogue on the future of infrastructure, stating: "We hope the Doha Annual Meeting will serve as a platform to deepen the conversation on future infrastructure, whether in sustainable transport, resilient energy systems, or cross-border connectivity projects such as the Development Road in Iraq and other vital corridors across Asia and the Middle East." He reaffirmed Qatar's commitment to supporting the Bank's objectives and enhancing the partnership, saying: "We do not view the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank merely as a financial institution, but rather as a platform for ideas, partnerships, and shared prosperity. Our national vision is built upon principles of diversification, sustainability, and human capital—values we aspire to embody when we host you in Doha." For his part, AIIB President and Chair of the Board of Directors, Jin Liqun said: "Located at the crossroads of Asia, Africa, Europe and South America, Qatar serves as a vital global connector." "Hosting the 2026 Annual Meeting there will open new avenues for interregional collaboration on sustainable infrastructure, connectivity and innovation," he added. Qatar's hosting of this prominent international event reflects its growing stature as a leading regional financial and investment hub and underscores its ongoing commitment to supporting multilateral development initiatives and enhancing international cooperation in infrastructure and sustainable development.

QIA, Fiera Capital launch $200 million Fiera Qatar equity fund

QNA Doha Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) and Fiera Capital announced on Wednesday the launch of the Fiera Qatar Equity Fund. With $200 million in assets under management, the Fund aims to deliver superior risk-adjusted returns by investing in equities listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE). The Fund - structured as a daily-dealing mutual fund - will be available to international and local institutions desiring actively-managed exposure to Qatar's equity market. QIA is acting as the Fund's anchor investor, contributing capital in the form of cash and stock. QIA remains a committed long-term investor in the Qatar equity market and the reallocation of QSE-listed company shares reflects a desire to enhance Qatar's economic landscape and market liquidity. This is the second partnership announced as part of QIA's Active Asset Management Initiative, following the successful partnership with the Ashmore Group. QIA CEO Mohammed Saif Al Sowaidi said, 'It is part of QIA's mandate to support the development of a competitive Qatari economy. Attracting overseas asset managers to invest in Qatar equity will fuel market participation and help to diversify and broaden the market. The Fiera Capital fund launch is an exciting second partnership in our Active Asset Management Initiative and builds on QIA's commitment to support Qatar's financial markets.' Executive Director and CEO, Fiera Capital EMEA, Klaus Schuster commented, 'To be selected by QIA to manage its capital is a testament to the competitive strength and consistent outperformance of our equity investment capability. It is our responsibility as fiduciaries to now put this capital to work; to create wealth for institutional investors, but also to diversify Qatar's capital markets.' The Fiera Qatar Equity Fund marks a significant step forward for QIA's Active Asset Management Initiative which establishes partnerships both with leading global asset managers with GCC expertise and local asset managers that meet the investment considerations for a QIA investment. Fiera is a leading independent asset management firm with $117 billion in assets as of 31 March 2025. Ashmore Group has received authorisation and is currently in the process of opening an office in Doha.
