Between the start of the 2020 IPL on September 20, and the end of the Pakistan Super League this coming Thursday, the Zayed Cricket Stadium has had an unprecedented amount of traffic. Never before has a ground in this country – or perhaps anywhere in the world – had such a volume of major-match cricket. And yet scoring has remained high, and Abu Dhabi has seen some classic encounters in every format of the game.
October 18, IPL, Kolkata Knight Riders tied with Sunrisers Hyderabad The two playoff-chasing sides put on 163 apiece, before Kolkata went on to win the Super Over
January 8, ODI, UAE beat Ireland by six wickets A century by CP Rizwan underpinned one of UAE's greatest ever wins, as they chased 270 to win with an over to spare
February 6, T10, Northern Warriors beat Delhi Bulls by eight wickets The final of the T10 was chiefly memorable for a ferocious over of fast bowling from Fidel Edwards to Nicholas Pooran
March 14, Test, Afghanistan beat Zimbabwe by six wickets Eleven wickets for Rashid Khan, 1,305 runs scored in five days, and a last session finish
June 17, PSL, Islamabad United beat Peshawar Zalmi by 15 runs
Usman Khawaja scored a hundred as Islamabad posted the highest score ever by a Pakistan team in T20 cricket

Aseer Summer Season 2025: Catch sports, shops and singers

The summer festival takes place in a spectacular setting. Summer holidays don't have to mean leaving the Middle East. Saudi Arabia's Saudi Seasons continues with the Aseer Summer Season 2025, which is filled with exciting events. Running until 1 September, it includes food stalls, pop-up shops and entertainment. Aseer Summer Season 2025 takes place in Aseer, Saudi Arabia, which boasts mountains, forests and, most importantly, cooler temperatures. Now, these lush landscapes are set to get more exciting, thanks to a range of family-friendly events. The programme features over 600 curated experiences spread across six distinct destinations, each designed to highlight Aseer's rich heritage, creative spirit, and breathtaking landscapes. Some of the highlights of Aseer Summer Season 2025 include Plato, a lively entertainment space for families; Cowboy Town, which brings a taste of the Wild West to the Saudi highlands; and Rakayb, a tranquil park lined with fruit trees. Cultural highlights like Al-Muftaha Village, Joud Camp, and The Summer Gathering host performances, workshops, and interactive events that pay tribute to Aseer's traditions. As part of Saudi Arabia's 'Colour Your Summer' campaign, the season invites travellers to explore the region's cooler mountain climate, where temperatures hover between 15 and 25°C, offering a refreshing contrast to the rest of the Kingdom. Aseer is located in the province of Aseer, which is a two-hour flight from Riyadh. If you're planning to extend your trip, make sure you visit Aseer's heritage sites: Rijal Almaa village, Jaresh archaeological site, and the Heritage House in Al Namas. Saudi Arabia's cultural calendar is filled with seasons, from Riyadh Season to Jeddah Events. Riyadh Season is scheduled to return in the winter, and Jeddah Season 2025 is currently running. Join the fun. GO: Visit for more information.

Amazing film

One of the most entertaining films of Bollywood 'Hera Pheri' which was released in the year of 2000 will always be remembered for its comic timings. The film had Akshay Kumar, and Paresh Rawal. Three of them had managed to strike the chord with the audience. And we can't forget the presence of Paresh. He was hilarious. He was amazing. Even today after 25 years, the film's dialogues make us laugh and has become a subject of memes. I remember I watched that film in theatre a number of times in New Delhi. Then came 'Phir Hera Pheri ' in 2006. Audience loved that film too. But problem started when the makers decided to make third installment of it. During the IPL, a news came that "Hera Pheri 3" will soon go into the floor. Audience erupted with joy but in few weeks we got to know through media that veteran actor Paresh has decided to withdraw from the project. No body knows what happened but it is very sad indeed for fans. The film can't be possible without Paresh. The veteran actor is the backbone of the film and we can't visualise the film without him. Let's see what happens in the coming weeks. I hope the maker of the film managed to cajole Paresh Rawal to change his mind and return the join the team of 'Hera Pheri 3.' Tamanna Singh By email

Renowned Indian restaurant Gymkhana will make its Dubai debut

Gymkhana can already be found in London and Riyadh. Gymkhana has made a name for itself as one of the finest Indian restaurants in the world – and now, it's making its debut in Dubai. Originally launched in London and with an outpost in Riyadh, the Gymkhana Dubai is preparing to open its doors in the landmark location of DIFC. When Gymkhana first opened in London in 2013, it quickly became a critical and commercial success. It went on to earn a coveted MICHELIN Star, which put it on the culinary map. Its Riyadh debut came in 2021 as a pop-up during Riyadh Season, before returning in 2023 as the brand's first permanent international location. Since then, it has garnered a string of accolades, including Best Indian Restaurant at the FACT Dining Awards Riyadh 2024 and Best Newcomer at the FACT Dining Awards Riyadh 2023. Gymkhana Dubai draws its inspiration from gymkhana clubs of colonial India. These were former elite social clubs where members dined, drank, and played sports. The restaurant is known for its elevated take on classic Indian cuisine. The menu features biriyanis, curries, kebabs, sabzis and tikkas. Plus, game and chop dishes. FACT favourites include the Chettinad Duck Dosa with Coconut Chutney, Kid Goat Methi Keema with Salli and Pao, Wild Muntjac Biryani, and Duck Egg Langoustine Bhurji with Malabar Paratha. Gymkhana has always chosen prestigious places for its restaurants. It is located on Albemarle Street, Mayfair, London. In Riyadh, it is located in Via Riyadh near the Diplomatic Quarter. The latest location has also been carefully chosen with Gymkhana Dubai opening near Royal China and several FACT Dining Award winners close to The Ritz-Carlton DIFC. No matter the city, stepping into Gymkhana is like stepping back in time. The décor evokes the charm of a bygone era, with black-and-white cricket club portraits, deer heads, fringed lampshades, and wooden ceiling fans. Even the bathrooms stay true to the theme, with vintage-style cast-iron cisterns and chain-pull flushes. Check in with FACT for the best things to do in Dubai. GO: Visit for more information.
