Saiyaara Singer Faheem Abdullah Signs Multi-Project Deal With T-Series
Faheem Abdullah, after his hit Saiyaara, is set to collaborate with T-Series for new projects. His first release, Bichadna, drops on August 4.
Following the massive success of his breakout hit Saiyaara, singer-composer Faheem Abdullah is now set to collaborate with T-Series, India's premier music label, for a slate of upcoming projects. The Kashmiri artist has quickly become one of the most talked-about new voices in the Indian music scene.
The announcement comes shortly after Saiyaara, the title track of the Mohit Suri-directed film, soared to the number one spot on Spotify's Global 50 chart.
In this new association, Faheem will work with T-Series on a variety of musical ventures including film soundtracks, independent singles, albums, and EPs. His first offering under the label is Bichadna, set to release on August 4. Sharing a glimpse of the track on Instagram, Faheem described it as, 'the ache left unspoken of, a goodbye caught in the throat, where tears spoke louder than words ever could."
Bhushan Kumar, Managing Director of T-Series, expressed his admiration for the singer, saying, 'What truly impresses me about Faheem is the honesty in his music. His vocals have a rare uniqueness that stands out in today's landscape. With audiences already connecting deeply to his sound, this collaboration will allow us to bring a fresh and soulful flavor to listeners everywhere."
Faheem, who hails from Kashmir, has long championed local talent and draws inspiration from the landscapes and stories of his homeland. Speaking about the deal, he said, 'I feel blessed and honoured to be joining hands with T-Series. All these years in my hometown, I have always looked at T-Series as the pinnacle of music, and now collaborating with Bhushan Sir on multiple future projects is both an honour and an exciting new chapter for me."
Sung by Faheem Abdullah and composed by Faheem, Arslan Nizami, and Tanishk Bagchi, the Saiyaara title track has not only captured hearts but also stormed its way into the Top 10 on Spotify's Global Chart, currently sitting at the fifth spot.
Taking to Instagram Stories, singer Faheem Abdullah shared his excitement and gratitude, writing, 'Hello beautiful people! Can we make Saiyaara the No. 1 song in the world on Spotify? I am overwhelmed by the insane amount of love Saiyaara title track is getting! Let's go all out! I want to keep feeling this! More and more of it. I love you each one of you guys! Composer Arslan Nizami echoed Faheem's sentiment, encouraging fans to come together for a cause bigger than just a chart placement, 'Let's make Saiyaara the No. 1 song in the world on Spotify! Imagine the title track of Saiyaara reaching hearts all over the world. How beautiful would that be? It would be a proud moment for all of us. Let's come together and make it happen."
Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films, Saiyaara has emerged as a cultural phenomenon. The film has turned debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda into national sweethearts.

Dhadak 2 Box Office Collection Day 2: Despite glowing reviews, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri's starrer Dhadak 2 has failed to capture the audience. Released on Friday, August 1, the movie faced fierce competition from Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2 and the blockbuster hit Saiyaara. This seems to have affected the box office collection of Dhadak 2. Dhadak 2 is a follow-up to the 2018 Dhadak. It is a remake of filmmaker Mari Selvaraj's 2018 Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Dhadak 2 fell short of expectations. Opening at a meagre ₹ 3.5 crore, the movie could not improve its numbers on Saturday either. On day 2, Dhadak 2 earned ₹ 3.75 crore, taking its 2-day total to ₹ 7.25 crore. Son of Sardaar 2 is currently leading at the Indian box office with almost double the earnings. Its opening day collection stood at ₹ 7.5 crore, and it earned the same on Saturday, day 2. SOS 2's two-day collection stands at ₹ 14.75 crore. Dhadak 2 had an overall 25.81% Hindi occupancy on Saturday Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi NCR and Lucknow emerged as top contributors in terms of occupancy. Hindustan Times said Dhadak 2 carries a powerful message but fumbles with its storytelling. 'It wants to speak about caste, oppression, and systemic injustice- and when it does, it hits the right notes. But it's weighed down by an uneven narrative and an overstretched runtime.' 'This could have been a hard-hitting social drama. Instead, it settles for moments of brilliance buried under a ton of missed opportunities,' they added. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh gave Dhadak 2 a 3.5 star rating and said, 'Sharp writing. Captivating, emotionally-charged second half... Solid performances. Dhadak2 works for the most part... But the love story lacks the soul-stirring soundtrack that elevated the first part.' He said that the first half feels uneven, 'a few impactful moments aside, the narrative takes time to find its footing… But the interval episode turns the tide, setting the stage for a gripping and emotionally charged second half.' IMDb describes Dhadak 2, directed by Shazia Iqbal, as 'A searing romantic drama about identity, power, and the cost of love in the world we live in.' In a significant step towards transforming its film sector, the Kerala government has released a comprehensive draft film policy aimed at formalising the industry, enhancing its global footprint, and promoting inclusivity. The policy was unveiled on Saturday during the ongoing two-day Malayalam Film Conclave in Thiruvananthapuram. Framed with a futuristic vision, the policy outlines strategic goals including industry recognition for film production and exhibition, improved financial mechanisms, gender equity, and the adoption of advanced technology. It also aspires to make Kerala a regional production hub while preserving the cultural legacy of Malayalam cinema. Declaring that film production will now be recognised as a formal industry, the draft underlines the benefits of transparency, financial clarity, and social accountability. 'The recognition of film production as an industry will bring multiple advantages, enhancing transparency and promoting social responsibility within the sector," the policy notes. One of the cornerstones of the policy is an inclusive financing framework. It proposes a general incentive scheme for Malayalam cinema, with targeted support for women and marginalised communities. Plans are also in place to establish a venture capital fund for film production, with the involvement of private players and provisions for crowdfunding, especially for films with strong social relevance. This fund will be managed by the Kerala State Film Development Corporation. To ensure Kerala remains competitive on the global stage, the policy encourages the production of films in other Indian and foreign languages within the state. A single-window film facilitation centre will also be launched to simplify permit procedures and attract more projects to the region. The policy highlights that India, producing over 2,000 films annually, remains the world's largest film-producing nation. Malayalam cinema ranks second after Hindi, with around 300 films produced each year. In 2023, Kerala contributed over ₹2,000 crore to the national box office, reflecting its significant role in India's cinematic economy. A new Film Development Council, led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and co-chaired by Culture Minister Saji Cherian, is proposed as the apex body to guide implementation. The council will also include an industry representative as vice-chairperson. The draft has been circulated to stakeholders and will be deliberated further during the conclave, which concludes on Sunday.
