Prayagraj's 1st rail-flyover likely to be ready by Dec

Prayagraj: The first-ever rail flyover in Prayagraj is expected to be completed by 2026 Magh Mela, marking a major milestone in improving the city's railway infrastructure. Chief public relations officer of North Central Railway Shashikant Tripathi said that the flyover is a vital infrastructure development and that work is progressing with speed adhering to quality standards. Currently, about 80% of the construction work on the flyover is completed. The work was halted for nearly five months due to the Maha Kumbh however it has now regained momentum. The work is expected to complete by Dec. The project, a part of the Mission Raftaar project, is being built at a cost of Rs 493 crore. It will pass over both the railway tracks and the roads, significantly easing congestion. This rail flyover will significantly enhance train operations by eliminating the need for trains to stop unnecessarily at the outer signal, thereby improving punctuality and streamlining traffic at the busy Prayagraj Junction. Flyover is being constructed as a part of the fourth railway line project from the junction to Bamrauli and will cover nearly 3 kilometres. The project started at the Subedarganj Railway Station and is being developed parallel to the Sulemsarai side of this satellite station. The flyover will cross the Delhi-Howrah line near the North Central Railway headquarters and will conclude just before the Bamrauli Station. Once completed, this project will ensure smoother operations for trains coming from Rambagh and Prayagraj towards Kanpur. TNN

Chheoki rly station to be developed as terminal before Kumbh 2031

1 2 Prayagraj: In anticipation of the massive turnout expected for the 2031 Kumbh Mela, Indian Railways is fast-tracking the development of Chheoki Railway Station into a major terminal. A comprehensive proposal has already been submitted to the Railway Board for approval. According to Himanshu Shukla, senior divisional commercial manager of Prayagraj Division of North Central Railway (NCR), "A detailed proposal has been submitted for Chheoki's development into a terminal, with a clear goal to complete the project before the 2031 Kumbh." The 2025 Maha Kumbh witnessed an overwhelming rush at Chheoki, offering critical lessons in crowd and traffic management. In response, the Railways has finalised a blueprint to transform Chheoki into a full-fledged terminal for Prayagraj. As part of the upgrade, the station will have 10 platforms, all equipped with modern electronic display boards. The station complex will include a large waiting area, expanded foot overbridges (FOBs), new passenger sheds, retiring rooms and a well-equipped food plaza to improve the passenger experience. Once designated as a terminal, Chheoki Station will become the starting point for major trains headed towards Mumbai. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Khám phá nhà tiền chế giá rẻ tại Bản Bắng Mặn Nomad's Notebook Nhấp vào đây Undo This move is expected to significantly benefit thousands of daily passengers commuting between Prayagraj and Mumbai by decongesting Prayagraj Junction and streamlining train operations.
