Chhattisgarh government plans to develop modern education hub in Bilaspur, issues official statement

The Chhattisgarh government plans to develop an education city with facilities such as a library, auditorium, playgrounds and hostels for students in Bilaspur, officials said on Saturday.
The facility will come up at a cost of Rs 100 crore on 13 acres of land in the city, they said.
According to an official statement, the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, has given top priority to quality education and the all-round development of students.
"Nalanda Parisar (library) will be established in the Educational City, where 500 students will be able to sit together. Besides this, three multi-storey buildings with 48 hall setups (a setup will have a hall, two rooms and a toilet) will be constructed.
There will be a facility for 4,800 students to attend coaching classes simultaneously," the chief minister stated in the release.
He said a 700-seater modern auditorium will also be constructed, while a hostel will also be built to house 1,000 students from outside the district.
The government also plans to build AstroTurf playgrounds and gardens on the premises, which will also have multi-level parking for vehicles, Sai said.
The Bilaspur Municipal Corporation has prepared a work plan for the project, and the work would begin soon, he added.
Notably, after the formation of Chhattisgarh state in 2000, Bilaspur has made remarkable progress in the field of education. It has one central university, two state universities, eight colleges, and more than 100 coaching institutes for competitive exams catering to more than 50,000 students, the statement said.

Addressing a gathering at an event in Jaipur, the Vice President acknowledged the efforts of the government under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, under which each eligible farmer family receives Rs 6,000 annually. 'Under the Prime Minister's Kisan Samman Nidhi, farmers receive 6000 rupees, which is a significant start. About 60,000 crore rupees go to farmers annually. There are 10 crore farmer families, but if the subsidy the government provides to farmers reaches them in full, each farmer family could get more than 30,000 rupees every year in place of this subsidy,' said the Vice President. He stressed that if the total subsidies provided by the government -- particularly the Rs 3 lakh crore allocated annually for fertiliser -- were handed directly to farmers, it could dramatically reshape Indian agriculture. 'The government is spending 3 lakh crore -- on fertilizer subsidies. If that is given directly to farmers, natural farming, organic farming -- the farmer will make that decision. We will avoid chemicals and pesticides, and a new approach will emerge,' Dhankhar said. He highlighted that in the United States, agricultural subsidies are directly transferred to farmers without any bureaucratic filtering, enabling them to make independent decisions such as investing in cattle for natural manure or selecting the type of fertiliser. 'Our thinking should move in this direction. In America, the aid farmers receive goes entirely to the farmers. There is no middleman, no government machinery involved. The farmer decides -- which fertilizer to buy or whether to purchase livestock so that manure can be used and other benefits can be is the result? In America, the average annual income of a typical household is less than the average income of a farmer family. The farmer family's income is higher,' he stated. Addressing the gathering, the Vice President also praised Rajasthan and said, 'The identity of Rajasthan's land lies in Maharana Pratap and Maharaja Surajmal. Recent events have once again brought their valor to mind -- when a fierce and precise counterstrike was carried out on enemy terrorist bases.' Referring to the retaliatory military action against the Pahalgam attack under Operation Sindoor, Dhankhar said, 'The precise attack in Bahawalpur and Muridke was a clear message that terrorism will not be tolerated under any circumstances. It was also declared that this is just the beginning -- this campaign will continue until terrorism is completely eradicated. Speaking at the 'Sneh Milan Samaroh,' the Vice President said, 'When we travel abroad, there is no ruling or opposition party; we only represent Bharat, and this has now been demonstrated. This step shows that for us, the nation is supreme. National interest is our duty, Bharatiyata is our pride.' 'Whenever India is the topic, we do not stand divided. Political differences exist within the country, but there are no personal animosities. This is a powerful message that everyone must understand,' he said. Expressing concern over the current political climate, VP Dhankhar said, 'The current political atmosphere and temperature are not healthy, neither for individuals nor for democracy. It is a matter of concern and reflection.' He emphasised, 'Power keeps changing hands; the ruling party becomes opposition, the opposition becomes ruling party. But that does not mean we should become enemies. Our enemies may lie across the border, not within the country.' That is why listening to others strengthens your own expression,' Dhankhar said. Speaking on policymaking in the interest of farmers, the Vice-President said that if the subsidies given by the government to farmers reach them directly, every farming household could receive more than Rs 30,000 per year.' 'If fertiliser subsidies are transferred directly to farmers, the choice to adopt natural or organic farming will be theirs,' he said. The Vice President cited the example of the United States and said, 'In the US, the average annual income of a farming household is higher than that of an average household, that's the kind of direction we should aim for.' Delhi govt launches internship programme for 150 candidates
New Delhi: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the 'Viksit Delhi Chief Minister's Internship Programme' on Monday. The programme, Gupta said, aims at offering young individuals a grassroots-level understanding of governance, spanning areas such as urban mobility, healthcare systems, waste management, and digital innovation. According to CM, 150 interns, selected through a fair and transparent process to serve for a period of 89 days, will work closely with govt officials, policymakers, and community stakeholders, contributing to projects that directly impact the lives of Delhi citizens. Each intern will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 20,000. Interested candidates will have to submit an online application, which includes four short-answer questions designed to assess their understanding and intent. Based on the quality of these responses, 300 applicants will be shortlisted for the next stage.
