Companies in Hyde are really lucky to have Genome Valley: Estonian Ambassador to India Ms Marje

Hyderabad, July 25 (UNI) Estonian Ambassador to India Ms. Marje Luup today said that our business delegation, which had a three-day visit already, visited the Genome Valley in Hyderabad where we spent a couple of hours and also saw the vaccine production. ' I really have to compliment Hyderabad for having this kind of park. I would say that the companies in Hyderabad are really lucky to have this kind of Genome Valley', Ms Marje told reporters here. During the three-day visit, she said that our delegation met the dignitaries of Telangana, including Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Minister for IT Sridhar Babu and Chief Secretary Rao and the Special Chief Secretary. In addition, we had a lot of interaction with private companies, the Ambassador said that we brought biotech companies delegation in 2022, and now it has been three years, so this time we came again with a business delegation, and we have the representatives of Estonian health tech cluster, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) cluster, and AI and Robotics. These representatives are here and we have been trying to identify the possible collaboration areas with the companies here in Telangana, she said investments can work from both sides, so of course we are always welcoming Indian investments into Estonia, and we are also looking for possibilities for our companies to invest here. To a question, she said it is not only about export or investments, but also it's about collaboration of different companies in different software solutions, for example. To find out the possibilities for both sides of the businesses to have some useful new developments, she said the trade relations between Estonia and India, then there are quite a lot of traditional groups like we are importing timber, we are importing also Estonian cheese is available on the Indian market, Estonian liquors are available. Machinery we are exporting and some metals as well. Nevertheless, there is still a lot of potential in our trade. The trade is too small but it could be much bigger in numbers, she said 267 million euro bilateral trade covering merchandising and services. We had many very good discussions about possible cooperation in biotech and in ICT, she said Estonia is one of the frontrunners in ICT and Cyber security is also one of our strengths. So, these possibilities we have discussed, but also in engineering, and we have been also talking about usage of AI, she said that we have the representative of the health tech cluster, then there has been a lot of interest towards different solutions in Estonian health system. 'We have a patient portal, for example, where the data is stored electronically. We have an e-prescription, which can be used nowadays in nine countries of Europe, the Ambassador said that there are no paper prescriptions anymore in the country . The data is digitally disregarded. If you go to different doctors, they can access your data from the patient's portal. The data is always there, she said. In the case of cyber security, she said we are now 100% digital. Then we also have to protect our data. This is the reason why we have developed so much in cyber security. We have created a 'data embassy' in Luxembourg. So it's dubbing everything in our databases in Estonia. And this is rather a unique solution in the world and we are the first country to use the data embassy, she said. Reliance has invested in our country and it has a research and development center in Estonia, she said. When asked about any companies coming up from India to invest, she said ' yes' that some developments are in progress and I can't mention the names yet. But the biggest ones which are already present in Estonia certainly are Reliance and K-Champ. 'We have more than 4,000 e-residents from India in Estonia and they have established more than 1,000 companies in Estonia. All of those companies are not active, but most of them are, she said. And for Indian businesses, it's a possibility to enter the European market and also the Scandinavian market, which are big and quite rich markets, the Ambassador said. Data centers also have potential in terms of education. Data center is, come take a seat, she said some data centers are already working and enlarging their capacities. The ambassador was accompanied by a higher powered delegation including Mr Svewn Aulik, Ms Madli Rahuvarm and Ms Katre Ekjas –experts in health, ICT , e-governance, Cybersecurity, AI and robotics. 'Ties strong enough to...': India on Muizzu's brother-in-law criticising PM Modi

The relationship between India and Maldives has withstood the test of time, said Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Friday, when asked about a purported now-deleted social media post made by Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu's brother-in-law. Mohamed Muizzu (R), shakes hand with PM Modi after signing a memorandum of understanding between the two countries in Male.(AP) Junking the post as "passing remarks", Misri said India looks forward to strengthening ties with Maldives. "Our ties are strong enough to withstand some of these passing remarks that have been made and have also withstood the test of time. I would prefer to look forward," the Foreign Secretary said. As PM Modi visits Maldives, several media reports had said that Muizzu's brother-in-law Abdullah bin Mohammed Ibrahim made a post on social media criticising PM Modi. The post has now reportedly been taken down. Reacting to a question about it, Misri said India and Maldives have withstood such remarks, adding, "by going with everything that has happened today and especially in the past 9-10 months since President Mohamed Muizzu visited India, the future is undoubtedly and unquestionably bright." Thaw in India-Maldives ties PM Modi's visit to the Maldives marks a significant shift in the India-Maldives relations, which soured in 2023 after Muizzu was elected President, on the back of an 'India Out' campaign. What further triggered a storm was posts criticising PM Modi, made by some members in Muizzu's government, following which Indian tourists started boycotting trips to Maldives, a popular tourist destination. However, ties started to restore by 2024 as both India and Maldives decided to restart diplomatic dialogue. While in Maldives, PM Modi affirmed faith into the India-Maldives diplomatic ties, calling them 'older than history and as deep as the sea.' 'India is the Maldives' closest neighbour. The Maldives holds an important place in both India's 'Neighbourhood First' policy and its Vision MAHASAGAR. India is proud to be the Maldives' most trusted friend," PM Modi said. Mohamed Muizzu also congratulated PM Modi for completing 4,078 consecutive days in office.

99.8% of Bihar voters turned in forms before deadline: EC

NEW DELHI: Over 7.2 crore electors in Bihar - covering 99.8% of state's electorate after accounting for 64 lakh electors reported deceased, permanently migrated, untraceable or registered at more than one location - turned in their signed enumeration forms before the deadline for first phase of SIR expired on Friday, earning themselves a place in the draft electoral roll to be published on Aug 1. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Enumeration forms of 1.2 lakh electors were not received. Stating that the 7.23 crore electors had expressed "full faith in the special intensive revision process with their active participation", EC on Friday announced that all the 7.23 crore forms received had been digitised. "The digitisation of forms, along with booth level officer (BLO) reports, of the remaining electors will also be completed by August 1, 2025," the poll panel added. Sources said these "remaining electors" include the 22 lakh electors reported as deceased, 7 lakh as registered at more than one place, 35 lakh as permanently shifted or untraceable, by the BLOs and 1.6 lakh booth level agents of 12 political parties. None of them will be in the draft electoral roll, though any elector or political party can file claims with the electoral registration officer (ERO) for anyone mistakenly left out by the BLO, between August 1 and September 1, 2025. During the same one-month period, they can file objections for removal of any of the 7.23 crore electors they view as ineligible. A parallel exercise is also going for first-time enrolments and those enrolling after shifting from outside of Bihar. EC is likely to undertake a drive in August to register new/shifted voters. Those seeking fresh enrolment must fill Form 6 and the ones shifting from outside Bihar, Form 8. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now In both cases, the applicants must attach a declaration form stating that they are citizens of India and attach documents establishing their date and place of birth; and where required, that of their parents as well. If born outside India, they must also attach proof of birth registration issued by the Indian mission abroad or their certification of registration of citizenship acquired by naturalisation. EC on Friday said the credit for successful completion of first phase of SIR goes to the Bihar chief electoral officer (CEO), 38 district election officers, 243 EROs, 2,976 Assistant EROs 77,895 BLOs and volunteers; besides all 12 political parties, their 38 district presidents and 1.6 lakh BLAs.
